Enjoyed your video, I grew up in Bakewell,,, Possum creek was my swimming hole in different areas and fished rock creek for the red eye many years ago. I rode dirt bikes all over Bakewell, Flattop and Sale Creek mountains in the teenage days. Walked a lot of the creeks too. Thanks I'll watch some more of your videos eventually. 🤠✌🇺🇸
Hi Bryan! Great to see you and Nathan out for your annual Thanksgiving Backpack trip! Fun to have your dogs along too, they’re both getting so big! Pretty days in a beautiful forest! 18 sounds pretty chilly, good thing you didn’t get snow! I’ve made a note to hike this area when I get back out that way again! 👌👍🌳🌳 Jen
Thanks Jennifer! Nathan and I, along with the dogs had a great time. Here some info about the Cumberland Trail: cumberlandtrail.org/ and friendsofthecumberlandtrail.org/interactive-map-of-the-cumberland-trail/.
Happy holidays, Bryan! It’s a great tradition that you and your son have. Those sections are quite beautiful, especially the sections with the rock facings. Thanks you sharing your trip.✌️
Thanks tangenttrails! It's been a tradition since he was 15. The rock bluffs are beautiful and of course determine the location of the trail in and out of the creek drainage.
I'm glad it's a father/son Delay family tradition and not a "Delay along with that dude from Virginia" tradition because I'm thinking it was a little cold for Too Cold Bird Dog Tom.....! Another enjoyable video, always look forward to your T-day holiday weekend backpacking trip.
Hi Bryan. Another nicely-filmed and narrated video. I've heard of the Cumberland Trail and was curious as to the longest continuous section's name and distance. We lived in Kingsport, TN in the early 80s. I heard of this trail then and the state's efforts to have a trail from the Cumberland Gap to Chattanooga. I even used to have a map that showed the sections completed at that time. Looks like they never finished it. Regardless, I always enjoy your hiking videos, hope you have a very blessed holiday time. God Bless!
Thanks Ken! When completed the Cumberland Trail will go from Cumberland Gap National Park to Prentice Cooper State Forest near Chattanooga. Here's the Cumberland Trail Conference website cumberlandtrail.org/ and their interactive map to find the completed sections here friendsofthecumberlandtrail.org/interactive-map-of-the-cumberland-trail/.
Good to walk in the winter, no bugs, terrain visible, nice and cool. The rocks, cliffs and looking through the trees at the hills, all were pretty. I wonder, were the dogs good to have along, maybe a fair bear alarm? Also, how does one find out the location and policies of the trails you hiked. Thank you for taking us along…from an old vet, finally retired in the foothills of the east Tennessee Smokies.
Thanks papajeff! This is a great time of year to backpack for all the reasons you sited. Information about the Cumberland Trail can be found here cumberlandtrail.org/ and a interactive map is here friendsofthecumberlandtrail.org/interactive-map-of-the-cumberland-trail/.
Absolutely beautiful way to spend Thanksgiving together for you guys. I always admire you guys and the cold temps you handle out there. So beautiful!
Thanks Nicole! Our Thanksgiving trip has been a great tradition. It helps to have the right gear and a good fire on cold nights.
Thank you for another wonderful father -son trip ! Great looking country.
You're welcome Mark! Glad you enjoyed the video.

Thanks Chris! Our Thanksgiving trip has been a great tradition. Oh yea, the dogs were having a blast.
Bryan it's very cool you and your son keep ip the Thanksgiving hiking tradition. Bonus you have the pups with you. Good video my friend. 👍
Thanks Tom! The tradition continues. The pups enjoyed the trip as much as we did.

That Rock Creek section looked beautiful! Your pup is a lot bigger than the last time we saw her. Happy Holidays Bryan!
Thanks OutdoorOperator! Yes Riley has grown quite a bit since my last video with her. Merry Christmas to you too.
Another nice Thanksgiving tradition in the books! Enjoyed watching the pups play. And the winter-like scenery was to wish for.
Thanks John, the pups play well together. After such a warm fall the cold temps take some time to adjust to.
Enjoyed the video and area. I’ve been on a few of those areas. Have a great weekend 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Jason!

Thanks Tom! You just need a good puffy jacket rather than a fleece jacket.
@@BryanDeLay Hmmmmm.......I was thinking more along the lines of a Sherpa guide carrying a hot tent and a wood stove and making a pot of beef stew!
When you find that Sherpa for a reasonable price, let me know.
The rock formations in this video are fascinating. Great video, thanks for sharing your Dash!!! - Davey.
Thanks Davy! Yes, the rock bluffs are very cool.
A bit chilly for this Florida Boy, but the pups sure seem to thrive in that weather.
Yea, the pups did okay Chris!
That’s so great your son goes with you ❤
Thanks Kim, it's been a great tradition.
