I'm sure that Matt is beaming with pride, knowing that Jaime and Rhett along with Greg can handle the tough situations, just as he's trained them to do.

This is the most technically advanced recovery we've seen in Matt's absence. Tremendous perseverance, absolutely impressive.

Most young people his age have to be cautioned not to drink the contents of the battery! (Check it out!! It's actually in the Owners Manual cautions for many new cars!!)
Jaymie and Rhett did great. They never got frustrated, never lost their cool and kept trudging along until the job was done. Matt & Jaymie have raised some great boys and should be proud of their parenting skills. Think about it - a mom and her teenage son out there in the desert alone and helping others make it home safely. That is awesome stuff right there!

Right of passage for Rhett right there...great job! Love seeing young kids who aren't afraid to work hard, make mistakes, and solve problems. That's the sign of a good father and leader in Matt!
I think that's a bit part of Rhett's appeal. He reminds me of what young men used to be like.
And he's probably a honkin' tenor to boot! We need the MORR Christmas Album! Even if it's tongue-in-cheek. But for some reason . . . I would expect it to be impressive just as most other things this awesome little group puts their minds to.
So good to see Rhett’s attitude to stay calm and figure things out. The one thing that really gets me going is to hear someone say “I can’t” without exhausting all physical and mental efforts first. Rhett is surely not that type. A great young man. 👍

i have a rule, cell phones stay in the car when fishing and dont come camping at all .
How old is Rhett?? But in every case he did much better than anyone can expect from someone his age and with his experience. I'm impressed! And not just the recovery and his driving skills, but also his awesome attitude, his calmness and still being able to be happy and moderate whilst working on a hard problem in front of ten or so people. My utmost respect!

It's amazing to see Rhett step up and Handel this recovery. Greg came and helped with some fine tuning but Rhett just kept adjusting and didn't let up. Matt you and Jaymie have raised some awesome young men.
The best way to learn in that environment is with a customer you know and who understands. You did great. I also love that your mom didn't over control the situation and left you take the lead. She only suggested when she felt she needed to. Thats a wonderful Mom.

I love seeing Rhett getting experience like this where he has to be in charge and it is super challenging. That will mold him well , even if he makes a mistake. Maybe especially if he make mistakes and corrections. Mom and dad should be very proud right now

Couldn't help but laugh when Rhett admitted it was his weld that failed. He learned so much on this recovery. They did a great job, but it will be fun to see how much more his abilities in the near future.
Absolutely love the OG tone of this episode. Reminds me of the good old days of Matt doing all of his own video work on his phone in the dark.
Matt has proven to be a wise man in making sure most everyone (including wife and kids) on his team has experience driving over extreme terrain while doing recoveries. Well done Jaymie and Rhett. 😊 Definitely tell Rhett has been paying attention to how his dad solves problems while doing recoveries.

This video just shows you how hard these recoveries really are. Rhett has pretty good experience, but it was tough. Matt has so much experience that he makes it look easier than it is. Good Job Rhett. And good on you for keeping a good attitude.

After a tough recovery like that, Rhett will now watch his dad like a hawk and pay close attention to the little details and nuances of what Matt does that makes difficult things look easy.
I used to train new drivers for FedEx. I always told them they will learn more on their first day working alone than I could teach them in a month.

Rhett has been paying attention. Jamie is just a natural. As for Greg, he's just one of the best behind the scene guys there is.. if you went to the wrecker games you saw alot of his work.. mainly the vendor/participants village at Sand Hallow.. another strong link in the MORR team 💪
I'd say Rhett proved his skills on this one - turning a trailer around on that road and getting that rig mostly loaded up. Lots of resourcefulness and ingenuity. Pops would be proud!

What a family! First off, my wife would NEVER have attempted that, second,if my son was involved, there would have been lots of broken/damaged stuff. The family that rescues together, stays together.
Am I the only one who kept telling the screen, "Ratchet strap the two front tires together to pull them straight"? I claim no advanced knowledge of vehicle recovery, I learned that from watching Rudy do it on one of his builds. The ingenuity, perseverance, and use of available resources that both Jaymie and Rhett showed on this recovery was truly awesome to watch. Thanks for sharing it with us.

When Matt said a Dodge Journey, I said to myself "No way, who would take a Journey out there?" I own one and when I saw it was the same color as mine and the same rims, I was embarrassed. I would never take it out in a place like that no matter what the stupid GPS told me. It's definitely not made to handle something like that.

Jaime, I met Rhett last month (you and Matt were just leaving in white Jeep). He is an extremely intelligent young lady. You have a wonderful family. Maybe next time I'm down that way, I can meet you and Matt. Last year, I met Lizzie, Jefe, and ED. I've been to Glendale and Ephraim. Robby and Hillbilly even waited to go on a recovery so that we could have meet and greet. Everyone in your state is so friendly and cheerful. Beautiful Utah, beautiful people!

Of course always easy to armchair quarterback these things after the fact. If they had done that there would be plenty of people saying just drag it on lol.

Loved seeing Rhett and Jamie figuring it out. Nothing makes me smile more than the "Dad" comparison. My nephew is always comparing himself to his Dad, and Uncles. Joined the Army like all of us.

That recovery vehicle is so awesome, and i cannot believe that trailer survived all that uphill cliffs.
Rhett did a great job, didn't give up, and handled the situation like his dad would.. Props to Jamie for stepping up she handled the trail easily. That poor trailer takes a beating and still does it's job. That was nice of Greg to help them out too.

Nobody learns anything or builds any character from an endless series of simple tasks or recoveries. I think Rhett achieved his manhood from this recovery, and Jaymie is well, how to say it, moving to the top of the stack in terms of her value to this enterprise. As an aside, it also seems like Buddy the Elf is coming along nicely. He will be a happier and vastly improved animal when his owner gets him back from you. Wonderful video!!
Agree 100% - on the first day in the shop; afraid of the noises, shaking and very uncomfortable to now, looking like a happy dog. Just a dog being a dog. Exactly what you want to see.
good can am recovery. learning by trial and error.
one thing is what youre supposed to do and another is what you have to do.
did road assist for a couple years mostly assisting semis and you really needed to bring the creative hat for most of them.
it was successful and didnt slide off the ramps.
found a weakspot on the trailer and found out you need more anchor points and rings.
i would call that a big win.
Rhett still has a lot to learn but he did a great job for a young kid. He didn't jump to conclusions, kept a level head, and analyzed what he was doing every step of the way. Excellent work. These are the kinds of situations that you need sometimes. Having guidance is great, but sometimes you have to pull on everything you know to find a solution.
