    I had the pleasure to meet Matt at his garage a couple of weeks ago while I was in Hurricane. Even though his shop was closed, I saw him sitting out front of his garage. He allowed me and my wife to come in. Matt was exactly as he is on video, a very gracious and honest person. He took me into shop showed me the banana and explained what he had done and was doing to it. The way he handled this rescue of the older couple just solidify my deep respect and admeration toward him and his whole crew. Matt, Thank you for your time with me and stay safe

      I had the pleasure of meeting Matt, Rudy and the rest of the team at the Cache Valley Cruise in this July. I agree with your comments 100%. Matt and his team are amazing. So happy that this recovery turned out well. Those cow trails look pretty intense. They look even more scary in the day.The desert gets very cold at night. Once you get off the freeway and out of a populated area cell service becomes pretty limited. Glad they were ok and it turned out well for everyone.

I passed him again when I was leaving my friend's and he had the same look on his face, and was stopped this time. I rolled down my window as he did. I asked if I could help. Turned out that he had severe dementia and had long ago been denied driving. He somehow found the keys and hit the road. He was unable to remember his phone number, but could remember his name. I took him to my friends house and started calling. A few hours later I drove him half way home to meet his family. He was 70 mile from home.

    This was a good lesson….ANYTIME you go out in the wilderness whether it’s for the day or just an hour, you need to be prepared to assist your yourself, food, water, first aid etc. I can’t tell you the number of times we’ve found people in the back country that were just going to take a little hike and had gotten themselves into trouble with injuries, dehydration or just being lost, every minute you spend going the wrong direction just takes you further and further from help.
    This story luckily had a good outcome!

    • @MrWolfSnack
      @MrWolfSnack 2 роки тому +10

      The most important thing is tell SOMEONE nearby where you are going and what you are doing. If it's in a park, then find a ranger's office and let them know you will be going out on a hike or doing whatever out there and where you will be. When done and going home, tell them on the way out that you made it and are heading home. If you get into trouble and do not come back, they know right where to find you. If you wanna go solo off the beaten path, then take a Globalstar satellite phone. The phone bill is costly as hell as well as the phone itself but if you go trekking a lot, it will save your life. Retard-o-phones break within 2 seconds and they always can't get signal from land towers with such a tiny antenna.

    Terrifying place to go missing with all those sheer drops, glad everyone made it out safely. The customer looked pretty shaken up, really pleased to see you made sure they got home safe it speaks volumes about your guy's character.

    Had a bad run in with one of my customers today (a regular, deliveries) and it was just terrible. This person always had some sort of poor disposition towards me and always was a hard time, I kept my bottom lip up until now. Today I just couldn't deal with them anymore. Left a bad taste in my mouth since I was only trying to be courteous about being careful. Anyway, watching this has reminded me that there are people out there (many other customers of mine) that really are grateful for the services they ask for and watching this video washed that bad taste right out. It reminded me that to try and stay positive and to go over and beyond to satisfy the people that need it the most. I'm glad everything went well and I'm glad you all can relish in the happy outcome. Keep on keeping on.

      I run a business myself, and still kept a positive attitude with a few real mean customers. The only thing is , when they need my service again , Im too busy for them. I don't need that crap in my life , i'm 59yr. , and trying to work, and also enjoy the rest of my life. I've had customers just this year tip me $300 when I finished the work on their home, and one offer to take my wife , and I out to dinner. One even just this week invited me next year to stay for free, for a week at his place in St. Lucia islands. I don't need idiots in my life, just nice people. I do nice work , the best I can, but still some people try to bust your balls. Don't need them around me.

    We had an elderly couple go missing a few years back out here in the SoCal foothills not more than a few miles from the pavement when they took a "short cut" and their vehicle got stuck. They were diabetic and unfortunately the husband died before they were located and rescued. I understand and commend your urgency in making sure your customers make it home. Good on you!

    I started watching MORR almost two years ago and it made me want to visit Utah because of its scenery. I've lived in south Ga my whole life. So I'm taking my wife and kids in December while they're out for Christmas break, my wife's a teacher, maybe we'll get to meet them.

      You won't be disappointed in the scenery in Utah! In 2017 we took a 52 day trip from Maine around a good part of the US, we ended up spending 10 nights in Utah it was so interesting (we had no idea before we got there). We spent 5 nights sightseeing out of Bluff, 3 out of Hatch, and 2 out of Thompson Springs. Hope to get back some day again.

      I've followed this from the start and the family aspect of it is what makes me attached. Not that it is family oriented per se, but the entire family and crew have that loving, caring sense of inviting the audience to be *in* the family and be a part of the experience. You can't buy things like that, you can't fabricate that kind of narrative from the outside, which makes the difference to "professional" tv productions. Because either that sense is there or it isn't and this crew have it in abundance. This is "real" reality tv, and that's why we love it and want to be a part of it.

      I am sure he did not forget, he just figured he would be fine. Most men refuse to acknowledge when they start to lose the abilities they had in their younger days. I realize that I cannot run down the side of a mountain anymore, jumping over deadfall, trying to cut elk off. Today with bum knees, many things are hard to accept, that used to be easy.

      One thing to help your vision as you age is the Bausch & Lomb PreserVision product which contains good amounts of Lutein and is available at Costco. When my father was in his late 80's he was developing Dry Macular Degeneration and his ophthalmologist could offer nothing but a chart t look at and monitor the decline. His optometrist asked if he was taking any supplements and my dad told him he wasn't. The optometrist suggested B&L Occuvite, an earlier lutein product, and it healed his DMD and allowed him to drive until a minor stroke at 97 ended his driving. He was living and driving the mountain roads near and in Yosemite because he lived near the park.
      I'm 72 and taking the PreserVision myself. My night vision is still excellent.
