Note: This video is about non-theistic Satanism, so that is the form being discussed.
Today i'm reacting to Anthony Padilla "I Spent a Day with Satanists" to learn more about Satanism and how similar it can be to witchcraft when portrayed in the media.
The form of Satanism discussed in this video is that of the Satanic Temple, there are many forms of Satanism but for the purposes of this video, we are solely discussing Satanic Temple Satanism.

@@backtobasics369 that's a hard question to answer since witchcraft can either refer to a fairly specific set of believes and the practices surrounding it or the general act of practicing magic. It is not a blending of two religions but it is magic practiced within a satanic frame and under some appeal to witchhood, which can range from the adopting of specific traditions associated with, if not identical to, witchcraft to an aesthetic upheld in order to scare dogmatically inclined Christians who think anything 'witchy' is automatically evil.

The definition of a “cult” sound a lot like Most of the Christian churches around me. It’s ironic and comical.
Yea I’m starting to question if their even is any Christians/Catholics out there that are not cults since all I have seen so far are cults...
This reminds me of a friend who told me a story about a protester she ran into out front of a Planned Parenthood. The woman had her young child with her and was spouting hate at random people but stopped when my friend politely explained to her all the things Planned Parenthood actually does for young women. The women was quiet for a while and said she didn't realize that. After my friend turned to walk away she hear the women turn to her child and ask her if she understood what Paps or Mammograms' where.
It just hit me that this lady was protesting something she didn't understand because she was told to do so not because she understood it.
That woman probably didn't have a Pap smear in her life
I grew up in a Catholic home and attended a Catholic grammar school (grades 4-8 here in US). We were taught by nuns and really were they even qualified to teach? Anyway, I used to get into trouble because I asked the nuns questions like: "But Sister, if we take communion and are eating the body of Christ, then we are cannibals!' But Sister, if we are supposed to love everyone, why were there Holy Wars? How can a war killing people be holy?". I was honor student so the nuns couldn't really punish me as they did with some of the kids, hitting their hands with metal rulers, taking them into the hall and banging their heads against the cinderblock walls etc. Yeah, it really was like that. Instead I would get the punishment of writing 1000 times "I will not question the word of God!". I'm 66 years old now and I still question everything. Never follow someone blindly. Don't give over your power to anyone.
I feel like it’s a good thing that people “give away their power” or even follow certain religions blindly. If they didn’t I don’t think they’d be able to find a way out. When you’re brainwashed or manipulated you’d never be able to find an escape route if you didn’t experience that hell in the first place. Some find a way out ,some don’t. Life is the best teacher but only if you recognize the lessons. Catholic school alum here. Nice to meet you.😄
That is textbook conditioning right there. Using pain or forcing someone to repeat something either writing it or speaking it, that is an example of conditioning.
@@trinitym5552 the idea that you need qualifications to learn is elititist. the idea that there are only certain things worth teaching is elitist. expecting a teacher who claims and wants to be a teacher of mathematics to know more about mathematics than those they are teaching and to have read or otherwise learnt what the standing concensus in the field of mathematics is and what they can bring close to their students to benefit their understanding of the field is not elitist. nor is it elitist to expect someone who teaches to be able to get along with children of the age group they are teaching and present whatever they are teaching in any manner that is understandable, comprehensible, and kind to their students.
to illustrate, there are several teachers I've had who I would not consider qualified to teach. one of them was an English teacher who was simply unable to teach us anything because she did not speak the language. did I still learn something during those lessons? yes, but it sure wasn't English, hence she's not qualified to teach that subject. on the other hand, I have a teacher with a lot of theoretical knowledge in his field, but his time management is so strict that we hardly have the time to take in anything he's sharing with us much less retain it for later application. there is some benefit to the motorized execution of absolutely anything he says required if you want to follow his lecture, but ultimately I don't think he's qualified to teach. and those nuns bashing people's heads in? yea, that is definitely not the material any teacher should be made from.

1- demons and spirits are two different things
2- It’s not dangerous if you take precautions

Only thing I have to add is that there is theistic Satanists too. Not every satanist is non-theistic

I bought the satanic Bible out of curiosity. What I got from it is Satanists are a group of people that are basically "not Christian". Live life as you want as long as you don't hurt others, and guilt free. That you shouldn't feel bad for doing things you enjoy. Live life for you.
Some of the Satanic Bible is good but some of it is very 'Might Is Right', survival of the fittest stuff. Laveyan Satanism is very different from that of The Satanic Temple. The Church Of Satan don't seem to do much besides telling other kinds of Satanist "That's not real Satanism".....because apparently there's only one flavour 😆

@@CanadianUnicornDeathSquad Do you listen to the Black Mass Appeal podcast? They did an episode on LaVey's The Satanic Witch. One of the hosts made notes of her thoughts as she had read the book and read them out on the show. It was so funny!

Remember, the Satanic Bible is really only for those Satanists that believe in LaVey's teachings or are part of the Church of Satan. The Satanic Temple or even Luciferians, don't have the same believe structures.
It is a very, Itheist kind of thought process that really, to me, puts down helping your common human being, saying it is up to them to get themselves out of the ditch.
when he referred to everyone being their own god, it reminds me of the philosophy of tantra. everything is divine and therefore god is everything and everything is god.

I love these videos, they ALWAYS teach me something new. Life is about learning, compassion and kindness something a lot of so-called “Christians “ preach but don’t practice. Most Abrahamic religions (generalising sorry!) need to stop pushing their beliefs onto others. Believe what you want but if I don’t ask about it- don’t force it on me! If I want to know, I’ll ask! Wow, I completely understand this topic so much more now. I respect everyone in their own walks and their own paths. I can agree with both sides but mainly I am starting to think that this is more true for my life now. But I am more Wiccan/Pagan. I think now I have a touch of Satanism in me.

As far as horror movies presenting Satanism and witchcraft negatively and incorrectly, definitely agreed-although I’m a horror addict and watch them anyway despite being a Satanic witch-but the one I could actually recommend for portraying Satanism and witchcraft positively is The Witch. I love how the movie portrays becoming a witch as something liberating, which still operating within the framework of the folktales of the period.

I have a question, I hope it's okay that I ask haha I'm just genuinely very curious. How does practicing witchcraft while being a Christian work exactly? I was raised in a Jehovah's Witness home and had the bible shoved down my throat right out the womb and I gtfo as soon as I could (speaking of cults... lmao) But I'm curious, do you feel like your beliefs clash with your personal practice since spiritism and practicing magic is so heavily condemned in the bible?

Yknow, except for when it is. This video covers non-theistic Satanism. Theistic Satanism also exists, and I do in fact engage in what would be called 'Devil Worship' (ie, worship of Satan, Lucifer, and other Demonic entities)

I will say, there are some magic chat groups that can be very cult like. Where they basically have one guy saying "you have this from everyone, but they don't do it right. Heres how you REALLY do it" and so you start to out accept their advice and answers. Even when they don't mean it to be like that, it's easy to fall into that mentality unfortunately.

I agree with tenets:
1, 2*, 3, 4, 6, 7... so in essence, all but five bc I just don't think there is any one place one's beliefs MUST hail from. I do however have the caviat that if you claim your beliefs are scientific they ought to be validated scientifically. however, for example, holding a belief because your own inductive reasoning tells you it is right is just as valid and even dogmata can be a legitimate source of belief, so long as you remain upfront in the nature of whatever beliefs you hold. THAT is what indeed mustn't be distorted to justify one's beliefs.
*when understood, as I think is intended, in the context of individual liberation from the legal system and cultural progressivism, I do agree with this. I just really wouldn't use the term "Justice" since it comes with a lot of implications of hierarchy I don't agree with and is left quite open ended so that anyone who claims to be pursuing justice can be argued to uphold the principle, regardless of what this justice consists of. Still, there is of course nonetheless the element of constant change - it IS ongoing - I just disagree it's justice we're pursuing, or that we need to pursue. But I can see how the sentence, as written, would be a lot more appealing to any Greyfaces to whom it might show that they are not obliged to the legal system.

I mean I've watched a lot of cult docos and pretty much most of them were based on the Christian god/religion....
I was actually impressed by the Satanists 7 principles! I found the people quite intelligent and amusing and probably would have enjoyed spending the day with them as well. As a person new to this Witchcraft realm, I am enjoying learning all the new and different ways to be a witch. So far I know I don't want to be Wiccan or Chaos Magick, I like bits and pieces from lots of the others like green witches, kitchen witches, eclectic witches cause so far they define me best. But I am extremely interested in learning about working with spirits that are protectors of nature like faeries and such. I adore animals, I do cat rescue (well, really I will rescue anything that I come into contact with that needs me) and I just feel drawn to working with them. Any suggestions of books or learning materials for this?
Also, I have a question on the Satanists that I can see myself encountering if/when I stand up for them. I know people are going to ask me if it's not Satanists sacrificing and mutilating animals in the woods where there is a circle and clearly there was a fire pit and so on and on, then who is doing these acts? Because I will not know what to answer and they will definitely feel vindicated at that point. Suggestions anyone? On both these questions would be awesome! Please and thank you in advance.💛🪶✡

Witchcraft isn’t a “ religion “ but a practice. So you can be a Christian witch or an Atheistic witch
You can be a witch and practice just about any (open) religion. You can be a satanist and not a witch. I myself am a Christian witch, I have two pagan friends, both witches, one practicing Greek (often called Hellenic) paganism and the other practicing Egyptian paganism.
I came across this video a while ago and it really opened my eyes about Satanism and what it’s really about (coming from a Christian background). I’ve noticed the hate stuff also happens in the LGBTQ+ community (photos on Pinterest) and the remarks I’ve heard at my own church about what marriage is supposed to look like etc. This has made me question my own religion, I’ve recently dipped my toe into other paths and they didn’t click with me.
So, yeah I am a Satanist….

100% on point, I'm 3+generation witch 🪄🧹 I've lived this my whole life and heard so many negative things, even said to my 5 children, it's horrible! I had opened my own metaphysical shop in town, the only 1 for 100s of miles, and I had to close because of the threats and that community literally pushing me out. I agree 100% with you on the doing your own research and questioning things. But honestly when you research about e.g. why rose is used in love spells you get the answer: because it’s a symbol of love, has been traditionally used for love etc etc. The question still remains. Why? Thats not an answer as to why i should use it. And so far nobody’s been able to recommend me a method or source to clear this up. In the end, it seems to be like “you believe in the symbolism and traditional associations with herb xyz, or you dont.” Can anyone help me?
Was satanism before “Christian satan” appeared. When I learned that they don’t worship satan confused me because they are called satanists. Great look at Satanism however I appreciated your opinions on the discrimination of different religions from more established ones - your totally correct and as a community of communities we shouldn't accept it agreed whole-heartedly.
