I still have the programme from Cliff’s Holiday Carnival show at the ABC. I attended with my parents and brother. The show was superb. We later took my Grandma so I got to see it a second time.
Great video Stephen and Chris. I am a big fan of Elvis and Cliff. I’ve seen Cliff in Blackpool. Manchester. London and in Berlin. 6 c 7 s . Love watching you opening your gifts it’s always interesting. Wish you both all the best. Greetings from Berlin 👍🥰❤️
Great video Stephen, bet that new entertainment museum would love them programs. Yep, every home had a pub ashtray and a few glasses as well, ha ha. Cheers mate.
Mr £1 Burger, in addition to previous answer, the theatre was originally The Borough Theatre, but didn't last long, and had various names before becoming The Queens in 1952 to honour Queen Elizabeth.
Great bit of history . I think you should spilt the old time gear between you both and yes he deserves the medal to do a video on it nice gifts 2 Stephen
Nice memorabilia, Lonnie Donegan was a British Skiffle singer who done songs like "Rock Island Line", "Cumberland Gap", "Gamblin Man", "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour (On The Bed Post Overnight)", "My Old Man's a Dustman", "Michael Row The Boat", etc, etc. Lots of history in those booklets, lots of interesting adds as well. Here's my votes 1C, 2S, 3C, 4S, 5S, 6S, 7S.
Decimalisation in the UK was 15.2.1971. I remember it well as I was an National Insurance inspector at that time and had to work out the NI stamp arrears pre that date and convert to decimal to add to arrears due after that date, and there were no calculators then! How would they manage nowadays?! Oh, and Steven, how could you not know Freddie (Parrot Face) Davies- you’re not that young and he is still around?!
Johnny hart was a conjurer/ magician who specialised in producing Budgies with sleight of hand from his attire, also on one of the shows I noticed was Peter Goodright who was a popular impressionist of the time, and the Kaye sisters three girls who used to sing in harmony.
"Holiday Carnival" was the first show that opened the ABC back in 1963. It was opened by the then brand new Western Train, this being the last tram to use the by then closed Marton tram route.
Hi Stephen alot of interesting stuff from the 60s and 70s... You know so much about Blackpool it's frightening! Enjoy your gifts, until the next one...
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always wow all of that history I liked Mr and Mrs show all the old classics it's not as good these days lovely presents very well deserved have a great day xx
I was on holiday in Blackpool in 1975 with family, and it's jogged my memory seeing that advert in the magazine for Mr and Mrs on the pier with Derek Batey. I remember it!
Hiya Stephen, loved your video, and the T.Shirts are fab ,yes to previous comment we went decimal in 1971,anyone remember doing decimal bingo at school? Let Chris keep the programme and you have the others. Would make an interesting video of visiting the streets where some of the venues were. Freddie Parrot face, used to make funny faces and pull his bowler hat over his face i think
Freddie "Parrot Face" Davies was a massive star of TV and theatre in the 60s and 70s...I know you're far too young to remember him! The remarkable thing is he is still performing. He appeared on the same bill as Blackpool panto star Steve Royal at a theatre down south, at the weekend.
Great video as always Stephen, What a lucky guy you are. With all your gifts. Mr. Blackpool. Looking forwards to many more. Here’s my votes :- 1C. 2C. 3S. 4S. 5S. 6C. Takecare. Di. Xxx

Sorry Steve, I was on your patch filming last month, Don't worry I'm not very good 😅, please don't send the lads around. You 2 are almost a double act. Great work again Stephen 👏
You defo need to go to corby to see the changes would make a great video. I lived in kettering for 52 years now live straight across the Irish sea from you in Blackpool right near the beach. Lots of good changes in Corb, sadly lots of Downward changes in kettering so glad to have got out, Corby has had a lot of investment and much better town shopping now
Lots of US $ outside of the USA as Panama and Ecuador use it.Bermuda uses it although they have their own dollar too pegged to the US one.Zimbabwe was using the USD too but I think that they have reestablished the Zimbabwe Dollar. Then there's the village of Dollar in Scotland!
This is what my Auntie Susan said about The Queens Theatre........If you google it, it was Queen’s then Feldman’s then renamed Queen’s again; it was somewhere in the area where the Houndshill Shopping Centre is now. I thought it was on Coronation St, Uncle David thinks it was nearer to Central Drive at the back of the old central station. Online it puts it as being on Bank Hey St which is at the back of the Tower, but lots of roads were altered when the station was demolished and also when the shopping centre was built such as Adelaide St, which still goes down to the prom but now seems to have a chunk missing out of it where the one way system goes through!
I had that program as i went to see the show on the Central Pier, i also bought a copy of the theme music by Jackie Trent and Tony Hatch who were husband and wife, i still have the single its on the Pye Label
