Some desserts you haven't tried yet, but recipes can easily be found on youtube....pralines, lemon bars, buttermilk pie (if you can get buttermilk), beignets. Oh, add Mississippi mud cake!
I know Chaudhery has a milk cow - he can use one cup of that fresh milk and just add a tablespoon of white vinegar to it - stir and let sit for 5 minutes. Voila - instant buttermilk for baking purposes.

Pineapple UPSIDE DOWN Cake. It is made in a cast iron skillet. Then turned out onto a plate to cool and serve. The pineapple slices are placed on top of melted brown sugar in butter, and batter poured on top to bake. Very important as this creates a sauce over the now browned butter pinapples. MAKES this dish. Edit: My vote for American dessert is Bananas Foster. Supply pillows, as Mr. Chandry will faint.. lol.

That's not really banana pudding but it's similar to something I eat for breakfast or snack. One banana sliced in a bowl with granola (oats and honey, sometimes with crushed nuts or cane sugar), whole milk and a splash of cream. It taste so good. Almost like banana cream pie. ☺

You need to make them a Banberry Pie, its a pie of the Southern US ----- Sliced Bananas mixed in Vanilla Pudding and then topped with sliced Strawberries on a Graham Cracker Crust with whipped topping on top. Chilled until served.

If they haven't tried it yet, what about a chocolate selfsaucing pudding, served while still warm with vanilla icecream or vanilla custard. My mum put walnuts in hers. It's one of my favourite desserts, another favourite is lemon meringue pie.

Looks like with this one, the cake was made, and then fresh pineapple and cherry were placed on top before cutting. I'm sure it was tasty. Just maybe not quite the way it's usually made? ;) Thought there's benefits to doing it that way, in that the pineapple and cherry are a little fresher and more moist, as they tend to caramelize and slightly dry out when baked into the cake itself. Watching Chaudhary’s initial expression I wasn’t sure whether the ‘so called’ banana pudding was going to suit him, but it was sweet and met his approval. Many comments here about what the desserts should be like… always critics. Remember where this is being filmed and the unavailability of the ‘correct’ ingredients to the chef. I always think this but never comment about it, so, I know utensils are not big with the villagers but the people running the channel should not give them forks when they need spoons and vice versa and don't give them serving spoons to try and fit in their mouths? I know it may sound petty but so many times they appear awkward b/c they're given the wrong utensils and many times nothing to drink or a napkin or paper towel to wipe their face or hands.
I gotta wonder how much weight they’ve put on since they started doing this. They eat a lot of rich and heavy stuff. But at the same time, I really do envy there ability to eat all of this for a living.
The attempt at banana pudding was the only "Southern" dessert offered to them, and like others mentioned it wasn't banana pudding :(. No pecan pie, fruit cobbler, stuffed beignets, tea cakes, etc etc.

I make bourbon fudge, I do not cook the alcohol out of it, I add bourbon after, pour it into a flat pan, then in the fridge.

Many comments here about what the desserts should be like… always critics. Remember where this is being filmed and the unavailability of the ‘correct’ ingredients to the chef. I think they need to be applauded for their efforts rather than criticized. Just saying. This channel brings me so much joy… thanks

Banana pudding is my FAVORITE dessert ever, that is NOT banana pudding. That is bananas and whipped cream. Please serve them real banana pudding. 🤦🏻♀️
I always think this but never comment about it, so, I know utensils are not big with the villagers but the people running the channel should not give them forks when they need spoons and vice versa and don't give them serving spoons to try and fit in their mouths? I know it may sound petty but so many times they appear awkward b/c they're given the wrong utensils and many times nothing to drink or a napkin or paper towel to wipe their face or hands.
I live in SC and that's DEFINITELY NOT banana pudding 😐. Sorry.

I gotta wonder how much weight they’ve put on since they started doing this. They eat a lot of rich and heavy stuff. But at the same time, I really do envy there ability to eat all of this for a living.
The attempt at banana pudding was the only "Southern" dessert offered to them, and like others mentioned it wasn't banana pudding :(. No pecan pie, fruit cobbler, stuffed beignets, tea cakes, etc etc.
I think they get gourmet recipes because none of them looked anywhere close to American desterts
