Halwa is one of my most favorite desserts, and my mom's is the best I've ever had. There's nothing I can really compare it to from western foods. I guess you could say its similar to pudding somewhat. Yes, I've seen it spelled halwa and halva. Most Indian sweet shops most likely have it, but the best is always home made. ❤
Halva is great. You can find it in the supermarket in many parts of the US, if they have a Jewish section, which is kind of completely wrong (really an Arab food that Israelis enjoy, not unlike shawarma, hummus and falafel) - but, you know, soy it goes. My grocery store has both Jewish and Middle Eastern sections and I think it's in both of them, sold in a form like a candy bar. It's unfortunately hard to find unflavored halva, usually it's vanilla or chocolate.
Halva actually originated in 7th century Persia (modern day Iran) and has spread throughout the Middle East, South Asia along with the rest of the globe in recent history. There are many cultural iterations of this delectable dessert ranging from Iranian, Kurdish, Turkish, Israeli, Arabic, Indian, Greek, Azerbaijan and many more. You can find it here in the USA in many middle eastern food markets. Be warned, it’s high in calories, extremely addictive and incredibly delicious! My personal favorite, if not home mace is the store bought pistachio flavor. Enjoy!

Pleased to see that these pies were liked. Choudhary always makes me smile because he just loves sweet desserts. It is good for everyone on the taste panel to try such lovely treats. Apple pie was made a lot when I was young. I have only had pecan pie once. Very nice. But never had pumpkin pie. Tonight for me it is lamb curry made from scratch. Why don't you just go make some pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving then? Or whenever, but obviously it's a Thanksgiving classic. Either way, it's really easy to make. Just don't forget the whipped cream on top too
Also, speaking of curry and pumpkin..I once made a curry with a type of pumpkin sauce base that was actually really good too lol Oh someone actually just mentioned that right after I typed this
@@C.ODubhlaoich-sp3to I will look to find the canned pumpkin. I live in England and haven't seen it but then I haven't looked that carefully. I have watched videos where people make the pie from the canned pumpkin. But I could buy a small fresh pumpkin and give it a go. 👍

And Mr. Rana wishing he had tea with his pie.. and BAM !! tea is served 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😂😂🙏🙏🙏🌟
So glad to see them enjoy! Pies make you feel happy.😊 Pecans are big in Texas, USA! My pecan pie recipe is a favorite with friends and family. Hint: Real butter and mix dark and light corn syrup. Had apple pie mini pastries today! Yum.
Love Mr. C's reaction, he has a wonderful, innocent joy when trying new foods, especially desserts. I think he'd really enjoy French silk pie.
This video warmed my heart so much-the sincerity and the appreciation for these simple pies 😊
Absolutely love there reactions and not even one bad comment nor a word of needing anything added or taken out just pure love for each and every pie as equal and admire
We all like to try each others recipes. That is a good thing.
if done right, Pecan pie are Cadillac of pies.
Why don't you just go make some pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving then? Or whenever, but obviously it's a Thanksgiving classic. Either way, it's really easy to make. Just don't forget the whipped cream on top too
Also, speaking of curry and pumpkin..I once made a curry with a type of pumpkin sauce base that was actually really good too lol
Oh someone actually just mentioned that right after I typed this
@@C.ODubhlaoich-sp3to I will look to find the canned pumpkin. I live in England and haven't seen it but then I haven't looked that carefully. I have watched videos where people make the pie from the canned pumpkin. But I could buy a small fresh pumpkin and give it a go. 👍
@@C.ODubhlaoich-sp3to Sounds good.👍
I really wish they could see videos on how these are made. I know they would love making them for their families.
I think this is a great idea! Maybe they could first watch how these are made and then eat the food they've just seen be cooked step by step. I noticed that they were able to pick up ingredients and scents incredibly well, so I think they'd have a lot to say about the cooking/baking process. Maybe they could even compare how they cook versus how other people from different regions and cultures cook. I would also love to learn about food from their part of the world too!
2:04 A hot cup of tea, and a warm slice of pie in a bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a splash of cream or milk, is a lovely cool/cold weather treat. 💖
The man with the white and gold is very stylish. Even his facial hair is awesome.
* you did them a disservice by not putting whipped cream on the pumpkin pie
TY for this awesome video. You made a few men very happy. Especially the mán that got the tea. Food & music can unite us. PEACE:-)!
You know I love these videos. I love seeing the reaction in their faces when they try something we make. Then they say something like it's so good or it's so delicious. Not realizing we are all the same people. Everything is delicious to us. If you would only appreciate the culture. One woman taught me how to appreciate all of the ingredients the world had to offer me. I will never forget her. Gahvi you are one of the most beautiful Angels I have ever had the pleasure of being in their presence. Thank you for taking your time to heal my soul. You will never be forgotten. I love you always
These gentlemen make me smile so much. They’re so sweet and kind. I just love these videos!
why does that one guy have so much drip? his white and gold turban looks so cool, and I like his moustache as well. he is clearly a man of status.
I'm getting over an autumn cold. I have Vernor's, a ginger soda made in Detroit, which we think of as medicine. I didn't know I also need a slice of my favorite pie, pecan!
Yep! You better go get yourself a pecan pie so you can feel better quicker! 😅
Food and music are universal languages ❤
One thing I always notice about videos where folks make American style pies is that they always seem to make them with a British tart pans instead of American deep dish pie plates.
It really does make a difference with the pastry to filling ratio
is that why their pies are always so flat and sad? it should at least be the height of a fork. i shouldnt only be half way down the forks of a fork and hit plate.
People make do with what they have. It's not like everywhere has easy access to the pie pans we have in America.
@@AC-ni4gtbruh its not some amazing feat of engineering, its a piece of stamped metal. its like brits saying "we dont have cream gravy!" ok but you should lol, you have everythign required to make it and weve known how to make it for 300+ years. youre just choosing not to at this point. so dont be surprised when people criticize the choices they made. truth is they made it wrong.
@@nullakjg767British people do have "cream gravy", but they call it béchamel sauce, or white sauce.
@@nullakjg767the British invented the apple pie 🤣🤣🤣
I want to go to these guy’s homes and try their foods now! This was fun! What positive energy these guys gave off! Great video!
I love these guys! They are so positive and adventurous in trying these American pies. I especially enjoy their comparisons to the foods and preparations they are more used to. And the one man that expounds on the usefulness of certain ingredients to the body and potential ailments. Wonderful and fun, please keep feeding these gentlemen different favorites and filming their response! Blessings 🙏🏼❤️
I would love to return the favor and try their food! This is heartwarming, and I adore the idea of cultural sharing
Notice that none of these gentlemen have gained any weight, no matter how calorific the food is. I’m envious. I’d gain 4lbs just smelling it!
Actually, Mr. Chaudhary got on the scale when he visited the dentist's office, and he had gained 10 kg (about 22 pounds)! He asked in all innocence, "Does eating sugary food make you gain weight?"
@Whippy99 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are right. I feel the same way.😊
Well, they probably did, but depending on the calories they burned that day. It's the net calories that matter.
They gain weight just like you or me; the difference is that they don't eat nearly as many calories on a regular basis.
It matters not what culture you are from.
Pie is a peak treat food. Simple, humble, easy to make, doesn't requre massive amounts of skill, and yet contains pure joy within every single bite.
Perhaps it is not so good for your body, but sometimes you need to nourish your soul, too.
@GuukanKiitsune Actually, to make a Great pie crust is truly an art. The one who knew how in my life, has taken her secrets to the grave. Have only known one other person who knew how since. All other apple pie pales in comparison.
@@elisemiller13 As a person who has made pie crust from scratch... it isn't actually complicated OR difficult. It takes a little practice, that's all.
It's one of those things you can only really learn by doing.
Pies are nasty tho, just sayin.
These gentlemen always put a smile on my face 😊. Thank you .
Some closed their eyes and looked almost euphoric after tasting it! So wholesome seeing first reactions! My husband (from Florida) asked me to make pecan pie for Thanksgiving..
I Love These Gentlemen and the truthfulness they display about their opinions of food. I'm new to watching them and indeed enjoy their graceful nature. Thank You. Coming All the Way In from U.S. Colorado Springs, Colorado🇺🇸
I love Mr. Rani just vibing with his tea and pie!
I love seeing these reactions. The gentleman with the tea had it right, sweet’s always taste better with tea or a coffee
These fine men are so articulate, enthusiastic and genuine! Watching them and your channel is always a great pleasure. Greetings and much love from Western Massachusetts
Originally from Western MA myself 👋
I love these videos. How much they appreciate things I take for granted or just throw away amazes me and makes me feel like I should appreciate small things like delicious food that's afforded to me.
The comment about eating honey, walnuts and dates in the winter... Same, sir. That's why pecan pie is for Thanksgiving and Christmas! As for the gentleman with the glasses living his best life with a piece of pumpkin pie... Give him a scoop of ice cream and really rock his world!
I just love watching these guys with their excitement and openness to try new things!💖
They should try a Thanksgiving Dinner feast with all the Fixings I bet they would love that
I love these men! They are so wonderfully genuine in their enjoyment.
It's amazing how food causes all of us to open up. It really does break barriers between different races, creeds, colors and religions. Love the channel . ❤🎉.. May God go with us all.
I love these videos. Their reactions are so endearing, I could hug them. I’m stuck on the apple milkshake the one was talking about. All of the foods they compared the pies to looked amazing. I’d definitely offer up a trade agreement: let me try some of your amazing food stuffs and I will offer up every single delicious morsel I can manage. These videos make me so hungry for new foods!
I find the critique of American pie by these tribal men quite amazing and interesting. It would be wonderful to hear their take on food Americans take for granted. Their objectively in judging these food samples makes this amazing, interesting and intriguing. ❤️
American food is too sweet and too salty.
They are correct, we do eat Pecan & Pumpkin pies usually during our winter holiday’s. As for Apple pie, anytime is a good time😄🇺🇸❤️
ALL the time is a great time. I can get morbidly obese off some apple pie or better yet, apple crisp, served with old fashioned vanilla bean ice cream.
@@eduffy4937You ain't lying!! Especially if the pie is fresh out of the oven! 😋
They all look so good. Making my mouth water. I love all pies... into my belly.
As a Texan with an immense love for these pies, I want to learn about their desserts and try their cultures' desserts with equal respect and love!!
I love fellow humans who love food 🥰
Man, I get recommended this and just watch it for kicks.. and it turns out being wholesome as hell. The way their faces light up when trying our cuisine. Pecan pie is a great regional thing for sure. Pumpkin pie is a glorious seasonal thing, a fun treat to be sure. But Apple pie is a bite of America. And I love that they love it. I'd love to see them experience some southern cooking at some point, get them to try some fried chicken and biscuits with gravy, or some sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast, although I'm not sure if pork is something they'd eat or not. Still, gonna have to check out the channel some more. This was great.
This channel always makes me feel good. I love watching people enjoy eating food. It's the Southern in me. 😁❤️
Loved this video !! Enjoy watching them eat different varieties of pie. 😊❤ I wish you had them vote in the order they liked them. 🤗
Wow you guys really got a treat today 🎉🎉 those are real American
Neither are American, do some bloody research 😡
@@peterbrown6645 I believe you but we cornered the market as usual
@@peterbrown6645All of them are American, you bloody envious bloke!
@@peterbrown6645Pecan pie originated in America. Pumpkin and Apple pie are from France and England. Saying they are American isn't necessarily saying they were first created there, but obviously, French and English moved into America and so they also became American classics.
I just love these fellas so much. Such sweet and tender souls who clearly live their lives in respect and servitude of God and show humility and gratitude at every turn.
I love these vids! Love seeing people have amazing and surprising experiences. Shouldn’t we want that for everyone? Great feels good show.
All those pies 🍰looked amazing and delicious, however, as a true southern American (who has eaten ALL of these pies 🍰 many times), they were all missing one critical ingredient....a topping of whipped cream 😋😋
As a brit where Apple pie comes from... I would've done that too 😅
Love Mr Chaudhary...seems so kind hearted, genuine and funny when he eats spicy 🥰💯🙏🏽
Brother Rafiq loves his sweets.😆
I made all three of these pies for Thanksgiving! Yes these are definitely late fall- winter desserts (well except apple pies are kinda year round). I am glad you guys liked them!
Warm apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream…perfection.
I suggest you try coconut custard pie you guys will fall in love
My favorite!!
