I can't stand how much hate Woody gets just because he wants to thoroughly explore an argument. I understand how strongly he represents the suburban white guy perspective but I feel like he is quite clearly and obviously a thinker, it's why he's been able to keep the podcast going for so long. He deserves more respect
I agree I do like and respect Woody even if we don’t come to the same conclusions on every topic. He’s not as immediately charismatic compared to Kyle, but, after watching for so long, there are many areas where Woody is better than Kyle.
It should probably be longer than 6 weeks but I don’t think that if you make it 6 weeks then asking women to take a monthly pregnancy test if they’re taking loads is too much to ask, but first trimester is probably the answer

Why is this an issue that needs central planning? We're back to 2008 now, where further right Republicans are criminalizing abortion to the point that illegal abortions will happen and, when it does, it'll cause long term effects. I'm all for personal responsibility of course, but you can't force that on people. You can argue that 90% of abortions are due to convenience, but nobody makes the point that 90-95% of abortions occur within the late embyronic or very early stages of fetal development. There's no single issue that warrants violating bodily autonomy.

I do not want the government telling me what I can or cannot do with my own body, I extend the same feelings towards women. They should have inviolable bodily autonomy just like anyone else. I also think that if the woman has the right to terminate her pregnancy at any time, the father should not be on the hook for child support. Equal rights.

Life begins at conception, there's no way to get around that at any moral or logical-level. The idea that a baby in the womb is no different than the mother's pancreas is a pernicious lie that doesn't make any sense. The baby has its own DNA from the point of conception. So to say it's "part of the mother" is like saying someone's hearing-aide is part of their body. Do a modicum of research. Go look at the stages of pregnancy. Go look at what killing the kid in the womb entails, the aftermath. Stop pedaling the same teenage-level nonsense.
