Wish I found this video sooner. I built two of waddles farms across the lava pit from each other and couldn't figure out why the rates weren't doubled. This video explains the mechanics really well and now I understand why it didn't work. The villagers in each of the modules only had 5 blocks in between, not 16.
I did use Pillagers, and I am getting five stacks of iron per hour, per module , and I have four modules, totaling twenty stacks of iron per hour !! I built them in the air, over water! I love working with pillagers, as they do not burn in the sun, so they are easy to work with during the day! Once you disarm a pillager, they can not harm any villager, or anything else for that matter! My base is about a year old, and my iron farm was only producing two and a half stacks of iron per hour, so it was time for an upgrade! Thanks Arystotle !!
Just and advise: Cover the hole on the villager pit or pillagers might shoot them dead when patrolling around (happened to me and made me a huge headache).
So, I built it in 1.20 and it works great! I had trouble at first because it spawned a few then dipped and I was confused. Until I was in a cave and saw that they were spawning there so I filled the cave and now it works beautifully.

@@ArystotleGaming hey there again, i just rebuilt this farm in my new 1.20.2 realm and the iron golems constantly spawn halfway in the walls. i have the farm in the air. any advice?
Yeah... make sure the spawning platform has those glass blocks in them. It keeps the golems out of the walls. Place them around the edge of the platform.
This Iron Farm is awesome. Easy to build and works like a charm. This deserves more eyes on it. Great video explaining the farm mechanics and showing how it is built. Thank you 🫡

I’m a little skeptical of how efficient it is compared to waddles farm But this one would make a lot easier to hide except for the nonspawnable blocks surround it but I’m probably just gonna put a auto crop farm around it

Still works, as of 1.20.2. Love it. Unfortunately for me, I built a two pod system and both pods ended up with the villagers being turned into witches during the same storm. Guess I had my lightning rods to close. 🤷♂

But it works flawlessly !! My villagers can now be out during a lightning storm, and I never have to worry about them getting struck by lightning !! I had lightning rods at the time your sort of event happened to me, and it did not work, but I guess I did not place the lightning rods properly !! I built this farm and it works well but the villagers keep dying do you know why? I ever replaced the carpets with half slabs but it didn’t fix anything

That can be considered a question or a statement on my part, as I am not sure if this channel is monitored very much !? I have around 20 unarmed pillagers being held in captivity by me, that are ready to be used !!
Hey, fantastic tutorial and iron farm, I just made one on my recently started survival! I wanted to ask a couple of things: 1st of all, why is 108 the maximum ammount of farms you can tile/stack? Could you not possibly build another layer on top of the third one? And also, and this is more of a technical question, why don´t we lose rates because of failed attempts to spawn golems due to the not that large spawning platform? (I might be misunderstanding the tech in this last question, just wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot for the video!
Unfortunately, since I built a round tower of glass around this farm, it has completely stopped working. I don't know if it's because you can't quite see the sky above the spawn area, only partially, or some other reason, but it worked until then and was quite effective for my needs.
I've made interior versions of this before... my friend even built one in a pirate ship... I'd poke around, check that a golem didn't accidentally spawn in an odd spot, and that the villagers are sleeping... golems do need space above the block they spawn on, at least 4 blocks of 'air'...
@@ArystotleGaming There were a few blocks around the farm, but I removed them. The situation drove me to switch to Spectator mode and search the surroundings even underground. I then command killed all the Iron Golem entities and made two 4x4 areas next to the farm and still none spawned. The villagers are still in panic mode and can't sleep and I understand. It almost makes me sleepless too, but unfortunately I can't spawn Golems :D
@@ArystotleGaming After all sorts of attempts, including replacing villagers and the trigger Zombie, when it became clear to me that there was something wrong with the spawn itself, I finally figured it out. Hello, how did you build your collection system with multiple chests directly above one another at 1:56? I cant seem to build a system where the chests are filled from bottom to top, or is that not possible if chests are above one another and theyll just fill randomly?
It's all about the hoppers... Say you have three chests stacked up and three hoppers, each pointed into each chest. If you dump at ton of items very quickly into the top hopper (which is what I did in the video basically) some of the items end up in the top chest, and the rest fill from the bottom up. One at a time, items move down through the hoppers before they are pushed into the chests. Multiple items, one item goes down while the different item (flowers for example) gets pushed... To stop that from happening, just drop a barrel or chest on top if the top hopper, which creates a 'choke point', point a fourth hopper into that chest or barrel, and then the 'chest' hoppers will behave correctly, only filling from the bottom chest up... Hope that helps.

Just hang around the farm and let the villagers sleep. That's the most common cause of that problem. Not having the farm loaded when the villagers need to sleep.

It doesn't make a lot of cats until you have a few modules going, breeders tend to make a lot more, but sure... just make the collection area a cat trap too. The lava won't get them.
It is possible. Just remember to draw an imaginary box around each villager pod (The 3×3, with beds and carpets, don't count the walls) that goes out for 16 blocks in each direction from the edge of that 3x3. Foe example, counting from the side, you'd count the wall blocks as 1 and keep going until you reach 16. Make sure the villagers in the next farm and the golems from the next farm are not in that imaginary box, otherwise it will affect spawn rates. When it comes to spawn proofing, if necessary, just proof the first 8 blocks away. Check underneath for caves too, lol. Good luck.
is it safe to build the 3 layers of 36 farms (108 pods in total) in my survival world? u said it would cause a server crash so what would limitations be on a normal survival world
Best way to tell is to breed up your villagers early on... if your server/PC can handle 300 entities loaded at once, than you are good to go... on my server that farm caused lag anytime someone walked by it lol
So one thing I noticed love the design but the iron golems somtimes get suck on the sides for a bit of time I built 4 and one I noticed Jets stuck alot
i have it about 60 to 80 blocks away from my villager breeder and it stopped spawning golems because the breeder had to many villager i killed them and it started working again
I have an issues with my Iron farm where only the firat segment I made works properly all the other segments after have been less efficient and now all the segments except the first one pretty much dont work only bring in 10 iron ingots when the first segment makes several stacks of irom ingots the segmwnts are more than spaces enouph being spaced 16 blocks apart from each other so the villagers seeing the other iron golems cant be the reason to the other segments failure. I believe this might have somwrhing to do with my low end PC that reads everything very slow and lags a lot but just in case thats not the reason I thought I shiuld write this comment.
Everything you describe, even though you say you're spaced out enough, seems to point to cross-detection in the farms... double check your spacing vertically (20) as well as side to side (16) front to back (24)
Hey, I usually don't ask this question because I like to figure it out on my own, but mine's not working and I can't figure out why. I properly spawnproofed it, I checked for caves where a golem could spawn, I rewatched the tutorial and double-checked I did it right. Anyone have something I'm missing?
@@NCDX99 No but I solved it. Turns out they needed more spawnproofing than what was in the video because I went a couple blocks further out with spawnproofing and it worked
I got 41 iron and then it stopped working. I checked if there were any place that the iron golem could be on and also that the zombie still was there and he was. Btw i have it over water and aslo playing on 1.20. What could the problem be?
I built the farm on my early game on my friends server but it only worked for 5min and then all the villagers disappeared who do we do to prevent this?
If your villagers disappeared something spawned inside and killed them, or they were struck by lightning and went witch to despawn... or friend reset server to peaceful and back again... 1. Check that you put in all six carpets. 2. Put a lightning rod on top (something you should do for all villager structures) 3. Make your friend replace them...
I built this in 1.19.4 will the villagers need to sleep every so often to spawn golems? When I came back it wasn’t spawning for a while then it started back up
Villagers need to sleep for one second every 20 minutes. If you are out of range during that time, they will eventually stop making golems. Keeping in range at sunset fixes that.
Building over water is fine... as long as it is deep. Golems can still spawn on blocks with one level of water on top of them, like the space we want them to spawn in.
Hey! I built the farm, and it works beautifully, but suddenly it stopped working! I didn't change anything, and it isn't spawning anywhere else. Please help!
Hidden golem, maybe underneath in a cave? Usually comes if spawn proofing isn't perfect. Otherwise, check your villagers are sleeping and your zombie didn't despawn.
Then just wait for twilight to make sure the villagers sleep properly. They have a timer of 20 minutes, where they must sleep for one second. If you only load in the farm by hanging out during daytime, but leave the area before they can sleep, they'll quit making golems after 20 minutes of that.
Then you have a broken copy of Java Minecraft or you overlooked something. Last time someone claimed it stopped working he only had two villagers in his pod. Time before that, guy made roof too short and villagers died after getting stuck in roof. Time before that, guy left roof off and villagers were struck by lightning. Time before that, guy didn't put down carpet on floor and golem spawned inside pod... take your pick...
Excuse me, do u have the world with the print of the 4 iron farm the one that appears in the minute 16:21, that would be so helpful and easier if you dont mind
Hey! I have built it in my survival world over an ocean and no golem has spwan yet. I have tried it on a creative world too and i dont understand where is the mistake. The difference between mine and ur is only that my zombie has an iron helmet instead of a nametag, may it be the problem?
I've built it 50 times and always get great results... spawning platform using full blocks? Villager pod too? Zombie bouncing? Villagers are running around scared? Getting on top of their beds and off? Every time I have trouble shot this farm with subs, the issue was always, oops I only put two villagers, oops, I made the spawning platform out of slabs or glass, things like that...
So I build 2 of these farms, one on ground level and one in the air, but the top one doesn't seem to spawn any iron golems? (I did build the top one 20 blocks above the other one)
That's normal and good... your spawning platform is ringed in glass but has full blocks in the middle part? If yes, then throw some blocks between the villagers and zombie in the lower one. If the top starts producing, then they are too close. 3 scared villagers make golems as long as they have slept for one second every 20 minutes.
Is it confirmed to work in 1.20, that released today? i build it in my test world but there are no golems spawning yet, but it could be that i've made a mistake
@@naustinfipecto6104 They just need to sleep for one second a night... block the gap between zombie and villagers at night and confirm they can sleep. They probably never claimed their beds, or are stuck on another bed...
@@ArystotleGaming i think i have the same issue. I blocked the gap between them and the zombie and saw them sleep, but sadly there aren't any golems spawning
The glass that goes around the inside of the spawning platform is necessary... the glass so you can see the zombie and the villagers is optional... If you don't but the 19 blocks on the floor of the spawning platform around the edge, golems will spawn in the side walls and get stuck, hurting your rates. If you really can't find any sand at all, try stairs or some other non-spawnable block that will let water flow right over the top.
my zombie disappeared... i just finished trapping him. i name tagged him and shut the trap door while i got rid of the bridge (im building over ocean). as i cleared the bridge there was a thunder storm and i realized i dont have any lightning rods next to my open villagers.... so i took care of that, came back and the zombie was gone.... he was even in water....
i ended up just making platforms of half slabs every three blocks underneath, that way the spawnable space is only 2.5 blocks high. after 3 additional layers, i reached the floor.
Why make it more complicated? For only a tenth of a second gain? Have to build a chunk loader or place the farm in spawn blocks just so you can afk this in the Nether!? How about this farm working just fine while you're a hundred blocks away building your house. Portal farms aren't better. They are just a little faster at removing the golem from detection. But they do that by requiring you to have to kill the golem in another dimension. Players on servers can't do that as they will crash a populated server if they stack up too many entities.

it spawned a few then stopped, cantfind any caves or anything like that either
Check your zombie didn't despawn... villagers are sleeping...
Is there anyway to also make it into a cat farm, like having 2 in1
It doesn't make a lot of cats until you have a few modules going, breeders tend to make a lot more, but sure... just make the collection area a cat trap too. The lava won't get them.
Is it possible to build 4 Modules in a cross, if so, is there anything special to konw?
It is possible. Just remember to draw an imaginary box around each villager pod (The 3×3, with beds and carpets, don't count the walls) that goes out for 16 blocks in each direction from the edge of that 3x3. Foe example, counting from the side, you'd count the wall blocks as 1 and keep going until you reach 16. Make sure the villagers in the next farm and the golems from the next farm are not in that imaginary box, otherwise it will affect spawn rates. When it comes to spawn proofing, if necessary, just proof the first 8 blocks away. Check underneath for caves too, lol. Good luck.
@ArystotleGaming Thank you so much. I'll test it out in a couple of days.
Appreciate it :P
is it safe to build the 3 layers of 36 farms (108 pods in total) in my survival world? u said it would cause a server crash so what would limitations be on a normal survival world
Best way to tell is to breed up your villagers early on... if your server/PC can handle 300 entities loaded at once, than you are good to go... on my server that farm caused lag anytime someone walked by it lol
So one thing I noticed love the design but the iron golems somtimes get suck on the sides for a bit of time I built 4 and one I noticed Jets stuck alot
You forgot the glass... you have to ring the spawning platform in glass so they don't spawn next to the walls.
i have it about 60 to 80 blocks away from my villager breeder and it stopped spawning golems because the breeder had to many villager i killed them and it started working again
That's not how it works... unless you have mob limits on your server.
Everything you describe, even though you say you're spaced out enough, seems to point to cross-detection in the farms... double check your spacing vertically (20) as well as side to side (16) front to back (24)
Thanks for the response you were right about them not being spaced out enough
Could you have the farm placed on the water? Would that affect anything?
Works awesome over water... and less spawn proofing!
why is it so hard to write whether its for java or bedrock in description?
Why do Bedrock players never know what version they are playing? 1.19.3 = Java 1.19.83 = Bedrock... It was in the title, Chad.
Hey, I usually don't ask this question because I like to figure it out on my own, but mine's not working and I can't figure out why. I properly spawnproofed it, I checked for caves where a golem could spawn, I rewatched the tutorial and double-checked I did it right. Anyone have something I'm missing?
Are you playing on bedrock??
@@NCDX99 No but I solved it. Turns out they needed more spawnproofing than what was in the video because I went a couple blocks further out with spawnproofing and it worked
I got 41 iron and then it stopped working. I checked if there were any place that the iron golem could be on and also that the zombie still was there and he was. Btw i have it over water and aslo playing on 1.20. What could the problem be?
I figured it out. It was that the zombie had stopped to bounce
I built the farm on my early game on my friends server but it only worked for 5min and then all the villagers disappeared
who do we do to prevent this?
Keeping in range at sunset fixes that.
can you build this on water or do u still need to spawn preff it
Building over water is fine... as long as it is deep.
@@ArystotleGaming zombie is there, it is built in the air, all spawnproofed.
Then just wait for twilight to make sure the villagers sleep properly. They have a timer of 20 minutes, where they must sleep for one second. If you only load in the farm by hanging out during daytime, but leave the area before they can sleep, they'll quit making golems after 20 minutes of that.
@@ArystotleGaming i kept it loaded for an hour while afking phantoms, but it still doesn't work. All 4 conditions are met.
That was Season 3 of our server... No world downloads are available as too many people were stealing the farms and faking like they invented them.
@@ArystotleGaming oh that sucks, anyway thanks man, nice farm and your voice is relaxing
Is this only good in 1.19 and newer or could I use this in something before like 1.18?
It works back to 1.16 only...
@@ArystotleGaming So anything newer than 1.16 this will work on?
My signs are burning when I put the lava down, how do I stop that?
Nevermind, just did some research, lol.
Happens in Bedrock, but not Java... good luck!
@@ArystotleGaming Thanks for the quick response! If you don't mind, what are the dimensions for the max size farm?
Is it for bedrock
Nope. I only do Java farms.
Hey! I have built it in my survival world over an ocean and no golem has spwan yet. I have tried it on a creative world too and i dont understand where is the mistake. The difference between mine and ur is only that my zombie has an iron helmet instead of a nametag, may it be the problem?
Helmet is fine... are you on Bedrock? It only works for Java.
@@ArystotleGaming Nop, I'm in Java and I have checked that my villagers are sleeping
@@la_almendra_cientifica im about to build this in 1.20.1 java ill lyk what happens
It works... have two in a 1.20.1 hard-core world
So I build 2 of these farms, one on ground level and one in the air, but the top one doesn't seem to spawn any iron golems? (I did build the top one 20 blocks above the other one)
Probably a villager issue with sleeping if you got the height right...
@@ArystotleGaming they do go to to bed every few min and pop out a few seconds later
Seconds*
That's normal and good... your spawning platform is ringed in glass but has full blocks in the middle part? If yes, then throw some blocks between the villagers and zombie in the lower one. If the top starts producing, then they are too close. 3 scared villagers make golems as long as they have slept for one second every 20 minutes.

@@naustinfipecto6104 They just need to sleep for one second a night... block the gap between zombie and villagers at night and confirm they can sleep. They probably never claimed their beds, or are stuck on another bed...
@@ArystotleGaming i think i have the same issue. I blocked the gap between them and the zombie and saw them sleep, but sadly there aren't any golems spawning
could it be that 1.20 changed anything for golem spawns?
Whats the rate for one module?
if i used chunk loaders could i build more than 108 pods?
yes, but it's going to tax your server or PC, lol.
@@ArystotleGaming who cares abt the pc lol
Is the glass optional my nearest desert is 3000 blocks away
The glass that goes around the inside of the spawning platform is necessary... the glass so you can see the zombie and the villagers is optional... If you don't but the 19 blocks on the floor of the spawning platform around the edge, golems will spawn in the side walls and get stuck, hurting your rates. If you really can't find any sand at all, try stairs or some other non-spawnable block that will let water flow right over the top.
Great! Thanks for the swift reply! I am building right now.
tell me how many blocks i need to retreat to build another one on top
20 block gap vertically... 16 for detection + 2.5 for golem height + 1 for spawn block = 19.5
Can I build this under ground?
Sure!
Thanks so much I really appreciate the quick respond thx.
I cant see to get this farm to work in 1.19.2
Works in 1.16 to 1.20... not for Bedrock though...
my zombie disappeared... i just finished trapping him. i name tagged him and shut the trap door while i got rid of the bridge (im building over ocean). as i cleared the bridge there was a thunder storm and i realized i dont have any lightning rods next to my open villagers.... so i took care of that, came back and the zombie was gone.... he was even in water....
so i figured out that he could still burn while bobbing in the water and under a trap door.... boo
i ended up just making platforms of half slabs every three blocks underneath, that way the spawnable space is only 2.5 blocks high. after 3 additional layers, i reached the floor.
i built this buuut
how much iron does this give per hour and how often do golems spawn ?
Gives an average of 400 ingots per hour.

Works on 1.20 ????????
Yep.
@@ArystotleGaming Can it be built above ground?like 10blocks
Yeah! And that way you don't have to worry about spawn proofing
@@ArystotleGaming thank you
Hi , why you dont use portal ?
Why make it more complicated? For only a tenth of a second gain? Have to build a chunk loader or place the farm in spawn blocks just so you can afk this in the Nether!? How about this farm working just fine while you're a hundred blocks away building your house. Portal farms aren't better. They are just a little faster at removing the golem from detection. But they do that by requiring you to have to kill the golem in another dimension. Players on servers can't do that as they will crash a populated server if they stack up too many entities.

you should include a world/schematic download for people to learn from it.
