Great video. You have to be a really serious fan of the history of rock and roll to really appreciate the significance of this song. It was written, performed and recorded in 1958 by a wonderfully talented young man who was only 20 years old at the time. Previous to this he had already recorded other great tunes and established himself as a serious professional musician and recording artist, and one of the top rock and roll artists of his era. Two years later, in one of the greatest tragedies of rock and roll history, Eddie Cochran was killed in a car crash. His passing is just as tragic and sad as that of Buddy Holly, but lesser known. Eddie Cochran was a fantastic talent in every way.
I love your video format. You don't waste time saying "put your fingers here." Just play the song (in a very skilled fashion) and show the tab. Excellent!
This wouldn’t be a hard song to play but whoever composed it was a very clever musician.
Racer X eddie cochran
The Who played Summertime Blues, listen Live at Leeds
It takes great skill & craftsmanship to make something so simple but catchy
@@randysgut3214 and Jerry Capehart,Roy Hall and Dave Williams
Goes right along with the words
Learning to play this now .. great song even better Gods of Surf 🏄 rock !… 😊🎸👍
The "King of Cool" Mr Eddie Cochran 😎
I watch this four times in a row this made me smile ear-to-ear I think I'll head to my studio and try to play that Never As Good As you but that was awesome
That's not just good. No. That's REAL GOOD!!!!!
64 years old, and play banjo...but after discovering your channel, I broke down and bought my first electric guitar. Thanks for the great content and format!
Thank you for watching and reaching out! It means a lot. 😊
I love how these types of songs might seem easy to play but to get everything right... that's hard. The rhythm.. the darn hand stretching.
Excellent!! Thank you for taking the time in doing this for me/us! Much appreciated. Wow, this takes me back to 1968 when I was a young buck and getting high (way high) with my neighborhood buddies back in the day when, "Blue Cheer" came out with their version of this song. I don't miss the getting high part, but sometimes I miss my old buddies. It was a unique time for sure.
Awesome as always! This is one of the reasons I love this kind of music! It is a lot fun to play it and listening to it! Best of all, doesn't have 40 chords to remember! Thank you Mr Tom!! 👍 👍 🎸 🎸
Great and authentic tone and I'm sure Eddie would have applauded.
Time to open the windows and crank the amp ! What a great job again Tom. Stay safe all !
Thank you! Rock and roll my friend.
"...no dice son... you gotta work late." Great video.
Thank you
UA-cam recommended me that, i don't regret it, it's a good fingers excercise
Lovely to see someone has got the strumming pattern right for a change, rather than all that dampened clicking, strumming, in between the chords, well done.
Thanks Tom! Eddie Cochran is always appreciated 👍 take care 😊
Thank you, you too
That reverb is gorgeous 😍

Sup, jazzmaster pickups, not a p90.
Totally brill!!! Lets make music fun again and dance till the early hours to the beat of the drum and guitar..yeah man!!
Man I love that sound!
Thanks! That's good. No gigging for me, or anyone, tonight here in London, probably elsewhere too (COVID-19). Looking at my JM now. Will learn this one tomorrow. Thanks Tom.

Thank You Surfer 🏄🏽♀️ Tom Keep Up The Great Tunes and Hang 10 .
Great, thanks. I definitely like the sound of a Jazzmaster better than a Strat.
Me too!
I suddenly got a huge taste for surf rock because of this video, I would love to know what pedals you used for this
I’m using a “vintage drive” and “echo” pedal in Logic Pro. They are pedal software emulators in Logic.
Best Electric Guitarist player currently ✋
love the song sounds awesome
Very cool sounds like the original music
Another great job done! Now I have something to practice
Have fun!
Awesome!!! Best video cover I’ve seen

BRAVO MAESTRO!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! БРАВО МАЕСТРО !!! БОЛЬШОЕ СПАСИБО
This was really good!!! I absolutely love the vibes this gives off! nice playing dude :-)
Thank you!
Bravissimo come sempre, saluti dall'Italia ciao Tom....
Absolutely incredible. I’d love to see some more Eddie Cochran stuff from you! Keep up the great work!
That would be "Something Else" to see!! I would climb a "20 Flight Rock" to see it !!! Awe "C'mon Everybody" and take "Three Steps to Heaven" Baroom boom.
Elvis is considered "King" ONLY because of the misfortune and tragic death of Eddie Cochran. I lived "The Summertime Blues" It's when I picked up the guitar because in Junior High I was too small to play football but girls went crazy over guitar players.
This is Alan Jackson……..
Thanks man was having a truly crap day but this was like a breath of air and looking out to sea. Good on ya from OZ
Thanks, better times are ahead.
Simplement bravo.
Fantastico Master puro puro
Got no reverb lever on my acoustic so I hammer on ,on the intro riff.
Great well done .
John What I do is play the low E while lowering and raising the tuning peg, it gives the same effect as the tremolo bar.
@@johnlennon8826 really bad for your guitar to be doing that
Tom !!! PERFECTION !!!!!
Thank you!
Yep, top of notch 😎
JUst brilliant Tom - need to play in slow motion as run out of fingers!!! You make it look so easy - thank you.

夏になると聞きたくなる曲😄👍️
Awesome!!!
Just need to slow that way way down so the rest of us can learn that guitar lick.
Summertime blues done by the Who is awesome too
Harry Gaul UA-cam has a speed setting to slow down 3/4 or 1/2 tempo.
@@tomcon21 It's a really helpful feature to hear the licks better and get them into my brain.
So it does, did not know that, if you ain't learning you ain't living
Thank you
