That clip of the auger still the end is awesome!
Ordered some! Thanks for the code 👍
Love the shirt!😂 I’m actually named for one of the lakes up that way
Have you been out ice fishing yet this year? Is there any ice over in Central Maine, there was 6-7 inches over in western Maine, but after this rain there’s probably no ice, ha ha.
Will the tape work with a foam grip?
Yeah it should. Make your your first wrap goes all the way around and locks back onto itself. Shouldn’t be a problem
What kinda rod is the laker pike rod with the black wrap ?
It’s a JT black reign 40”
Apologies for my ignorance about this, but why not have reel seats on these, or for that matter just metal rings on the handle to secure the reel? Is that typical of ice rods, or just a personal preference?
Some have reel seats, some don’t. I love the feeling of the longer handle one. It’s very slim feeling. Sometimes the reel seats get kinda clunky and you lose sensitivity
@@mainetroutwhisperer Cheers, thank you. I thought about the sensitivity after I wrote the question. Interesting, I might have to try this out some day. I know some surfcasters use this on their long plugging rods with spinning reels, too. My trout rods, usually around 5.5 to 6' for small streams in the mid Atlantic, mostly have cork handles with metal rings but no actual seat, but I generally tape the rings to keep them secure anyway. I've never been ice fishing but it's fun to learn about the gear.
