That's a great question! It depends what settings you have according to the Air/Paint ratio, but for all these panels which I primed, I got away with 300ml of primer. The capacity of the airgun is around 600ml. Airguns do an amazing job to be fair! That would be awesome, I bet you'll have fun if you get one :D Best regards

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it! The JD 400 is a shade bigger and stronger than this 317! It actually shares the same engine as in my Bolens HT20. It's nice to hear that you're keeping another classic JD alive! Cheers

I have a 332 and 140 they need to be painted. What brand for paint and primer are you using?

Hello Kim, I use industrial primer and paint. For lighter colors I choose grey primer and darker colors I choose a red (oxide) colored primer. The paint is industrial grade as well. I have a local paint supplier by the name Cloverdale and they can mix basically any color and their pre-mixed colors, like the yellow and green are also sold at my local Greggs Dristributor. I've had some success using this paint and to me it's very durable. I'm not sure where other people purchase their paint, but I would suggest to use an industrial primer and paint. I hope this helps, Best regards Andreas

My 430 has a crack on front center of the hood. Do I need to fix it with fiberglass first or just use (Bondo ) straight on it? Thanks

Thanks for asking! The hoods I have prepared so far, only needed some scratches and minor cracks fixed. I used a medium Bondo for my repairs. If the crack is deep and/or you can feel that the hood is somewhat weaker in that area, I would suggest reinforcing it with a bit of fiberglass. I hope that helps. Best regards

May have been better to just do basecoat Clearcoat john deere green in the spray gun instead of the paint cans.

Hi Dean, I agree with you on that! At that time I just did not have all the equipment and paint to do so and this is the route I chose. From now on, I always try to use HVLP guns to apply my products. Thanks for leaving this comment, it's much appreciated. Regards Andreas

      Dude get a real respirator!
And hard to tell but did you wipe down with acetone & no gloves?!
I live on the dangerous side with alot of my safety procedures when I'm doing restorations but not when it comes to my lungs & and cleaning agents that definitely cause cancer...
I'm a subscriber and I do love your projects... so try not to off yourself in the near future :)

@warlock-designs-customizations Thanks for your support and great advice!
I have since purchased a better respirator and I try to wear gloves when I can. Especially when working with chemicals like acetone!
Hopefully you don‘t catch me working like this anymore😁 Regards Andreas
