I watched that moment several times. I think lead powder from the bullet struck the bolt heads and created it's own little plumes. I can't be left out of the puns so let's just say that's what you get with a bolt action firearm.
@@johnp9194 I was thinking that, but at 8:47 you can see the miniplums from the bolts before the debris of the bullet reach them, so I think that maybe the shockwave of the initial impact (that travel faster on steel that air) could make the target hit the bolts so hard that make those plumes. Again, not really sure what was that except for amazing.
A bolter round has its own propulsion though, so the recoil is less significant than this is. And unfortunately, I think a bigger gun is needed for a carnifex, unless it's an explosive or penetrative round. Lead ain't good enough 😅

You should check out "Ballistic High Speed", They constantly use 2-3 super slow-mo cameras for their content. I think they used 4 in their most recent video with the Tungsten cube. Cheers, Crackers.

We love guns too. We just don't think that so many people (or categories of people) should have one. There is a surprisingly high proportion of Brits who own firearms - just very few who own automatic rifles, and almost no handguns. Loads and loads of hunting rifles and shotguns though, because they have a use outside of shooting people. You can argue the importance of that however you want.

That was just insane! The sheer power it delivers. Its recoil energy is more than some small handguns put out with 300ft/lbs. The playback of muzzle flash was awesome. Scott plus the Slow Mo guys is a perfect pairing, and you can see that both parties listen and learn a great deal from each other. Even though Scott has a massive amount of guns and experience, you can tell he is listening to and enjoying what he is being shown, and that even he can be surprised. A very humble man.
