Really surprised to hear you mention my name, thanks so much John appreciate the kind words. Loving your content too buddy! 👌 I can totally relate to the day job taking you away from making as many videos as you'd like - we will be watching as and when you can make more 👍
Hi John congratulations on the 60k well deserved. Just a few of my thoughts would the addition of a belt sander solve the problem with end grain boards just to speed up leveling at a fraction of the cost of others for limited production. And as other's have commented it would be great to see a collaborative video when you have time maybe a live where people could ask questions and get 2 contrasting views. Just my thoughts enjoy your time away I will be waiting for future video's as you can get time to make. John
Great vlog John and cheers for answering my question much appreciated. 🙏🏼Also John regarding Patreon this shows what integrity you have. Many others would just carry on receiving donations regardless of amount of content? And as you mentioned, most just want to support the channel regardless of how much content, it just shows the type of guy you are👍. Great the business is going well and we all just look forward to content when your able to do it mate. 🍻
Hi John totally understand the time constraints that work and a hobby create hopefully one day you can arrange a collaboration would be nice to see contrasting opinions on a subject or machines etc 😀
Congrats on flying passed the 60k margin and kudos for shutting down your Patreon given the circumstances; that took guts and integrity. Totally understand what you mean about work, the tiger is roaring again - can't get hold of trades anymore, they're all too busy! :D
Great video John! For 30 years, I worked with a 6” jointer and a DeWalt thicknesser, both with straight knives. In Fall of 2020, I upgraded to a King Canada 12” combo machine with spiral cutter head. I don’t know why I waited so long, the difference is night and day!
Hi John many thanks for the recommendations I will definitely check out Tommy have to support the Irish and yes my grandparents were from Tipperary 🙂 enjoy your time away
John congratulations for the 60k+ i am with you from 5k+.....i am enjoying from each video you launching on UA-cam: love your content, you have helped me few times, you are honest, skillful and you are doing it all in charming ways!!!! I do have issue with buying new hand tools and power tools because the prices went up so i have started to buy an old second handed hand tools ( on eBay) making them in good shape as new and making them better , less expensive tools.... I am happy for you that you are back on track with your business and you have got a lot if work!!!!
Just thot id let you know john.i have that exact same mitre saw.i have it connected up to rutlands fine filtration dust extractor with a 63 mm hose to it and I find that works quite well.very little dust .your airflow might not be enough with that vacuum
I upgraded my Record Power dust extractor recently to an Axminster AW118CE and I am really impressed with it. I was looking at the Cam Vacs but went with the axminster due to the larger capacity and lack of paper filter which I seemed to have to replace or clean every five minutes. Not plumbed it in properly yet but I've rewatched your ducting video for ideas. Only down side is it has an NVR switch so no remote control but as it gets a bit older I will replace the switch with a dumb switched.
Thanks for the update, and inspirational ideas for my shop! I've got some work to do now! Oh my, I've always wondered if you know of any other woodworkers from Ireland? I watch many of the channels you mentioned in the video, but just curious about any other UA-cam channels from Ireland. Hope to hear from you, thanks again for the inspiration!
7:30 So that's what it is, a blade saver! One of those bendy strips (without a hanger hook which would have been a clue) came with my garden strimmer/brush cutter, last year. I couldn't figure out what it was or see any way to fix it to the machine so it's just been gathering dust in a corner since then. I've just tried it and it fits around the brush cutter blade perfectly. You live and learn. 🤣
John it has been a pleasure supporting you and your channel, Fingers crossed for the future. Keep up the great content.....PS i'm enjoying a great glass of Slane .........
Congratulations on the 60k subs. They were some amazing projects. Great choice. The family are good thank you for asking. The garden products are fantastic 👌

John I insualted my shed with 50mm Quinntherm, it stuck on to the felt antidrip no problem just used blobs of that Sticks like Sh*t stuff. Massive difference, especially in the summer to keep the shed cool. Insulated the walls with 40mm aeroboard and covered in 9mm ply. Works really well.
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed I have the DeWalt version of this strimmer John, and it's a great bit of kit. So quiet and the battery lasts surprisingly long. One recommendation though - get some decent anti-vibration gloves to use with it; your hands will thank you.
Glad to hear you’re doing well. Thanks for the update. Miss your videos but I’m glad to hear work is going well. I do hope you get to enjoy a holiday soon! Congrats on the 60k! :)
Hi John, I have followed you since nearly the beginning, so have seen your progression, so thanks for that. Well done for the integrity in cancelling the patreon, but I'm sure you will be able to start up again soon. When I eventually get my workshop to the size you have now, and not my small 3.6 x 2.4m , I will be able to do a proper outfitting.

Hi John, what’s the best type of wood to make some chopping blocks out of ?

The only other woodworking UA-camr from Ireland is Tommy from Eire workshop as far as I know
