Your pronounciation of "trinken" was actually correct. The speaker is obvously from southern Germany where they pronounce the R differently (kind of rolling it). But that is not the standard dialect (Hochdeutsch). You are really doing great! Keep it up!
@@IntricatelyRandomAsian I absolutely confirm that. I was born in lower saxony and your initial pronounciation was more familiar to me than the video was
Wow, you really have a talent for German. But keep in mind that its grammar is tricky. You will need to have a lot of patience to get to the bottom of it. Plural form of nouns was one of the hardest grammar topics for me. Viel Spaß!
@@IntricatelyRandomAsian Yes, you are really good! Particularly, you nail the German "R", which usually is very hard for people from North America. Ein Naturtalent! :) If you want to learn more about the correct pronounciation and many interesting things about Germany, check out some videos of the channel "Feli from Germany". ;) And by the way, "Handy" is just one of many funny examples, where we Germans imported english words kind of wrong into our everyday language, but with a misinterpreted meaning. ^^ Other examples are "Public Viewing", "Beamer", "Homeoffice", "Bodybag" or "Oldtimer".
@@IntricatelyRandomAsian Trie our French language. It would be more easier for you 🇵🇭🇫🇷🤝🇨🇦🇵🇭 4:24 don't get any fun idea with this word 🤣. I know what this word means
Your "ch"s and "ö"s, that we could hear, were really good! Many people struggle with these and the rest (ä, ü, ß) a lot! Also, don't worry too much about the "R"s. The speaker has a noticeable accent here and as someone who is not from south Germany, where you roll "R"s like that, I prefer your slightly softer variant, because I would not roll the "R" at all.
I can recommend an interesting video about how the Germanic language group formed a bunch of new languages over time. The video is titled "Why Did English Differ From German? | 18 Minute History | Germanic Languages" (ua-cam.com/video/M5qSR7uXuG4/v-deo.html) from Virginia Bēowulf English Studies. The video itself is in Russian, but you can turn on English subtitles. I think it will be interesting for you to see what languages the Germanic group of languages developed into. Могу посоветовать интересное видео про то как германская языковая группа со временем образовала кучу новых языков. Видео называется "Почему английский язык разошёлся с немецким? | История за 18 минут | Германские языки" (ua-cam.com/video/M5qSR7uXuG4/v-deo.html) с канала Virginia Bēowulf · English Studies. Само видео на русском языке, но можно включить английские субтитры. Думаю тебе будет интересно посмотреть в какие языки развилась германская группа языков.
