100% agree with you on the Friday the 13th 2009 remake. It’s my favorite as well. So underrated.
I absolutely love the Friday the 13th remake. I think it’s one of the most underrated slasher movies period. Jason is without a doubt the best in this movie as far as being scary goes.
I am here rewatching this video for the 100th time after this morning's 31 on 31 announcement. So excited for you to revisit these films- you've grown so much as a content creator, and these beloved franchises really deserve another look.

@@tybongiorno2479 not a bad list. I'm bigger fan of childs play and texas so would have texas 1 and childs play 2 at 2. I like original scream the best and prob #3. I love texas chainsaw 3 and gets way too much hate so that would be higher. Texas 2 is fun but I honestly believe a little over rated after being underrated. I prob have 2 above 3 but not by large margin and depends what I in mood for. Texas 3 unrated is way better and I like vigo mortisen.

Halloween is overrated IMO. It is slow and at points pretty boring.
@@nickfanzo overrated yes and no. It’s legit one of the major pinnacles of the nentire genre. Does it hold up? Yeah but it dosent feel as groundbreaking anymore.

Halloween is slightly overrated and it is NOT the best slasher movie. Freddy krueger deserves more recognition than Michael Myers because he's a lot more unique. My guy literally slaughters teenagers in their dreams.
@@georgek2222 if you want to talk about uniqueness than remember that Halloween literally made Slasher movies the way they are now. It may look like a cliche movie now, but it's because a lot of movies copied Halloween which introduced those horror concepts first

As someone who grow up with the Friday the 13th series, I want to say I love the 09 remake and don't understand the hate for the movie. I love the portrayal of Jason with the whole woodsman thing, love the characters, the axe throw kill was probably my favorite. Awesome list Cody.

I disagree with ur top 5, even though I like Friday the 13th series more, Halloween is overall the better film then those Friday the 13th movies, ESPECIALLY the original Friday the 13th, cmon dude that's just disrespectful
@@n0__b0dy48 It was really hard to choose between the two, but I've always been a bigger Friday fan and honestly think that Betsy Palmer gives a better performance than anyone in Halloween (Donald Pleasance included). Plus, I get really tired of Halloween fans always demeaning it for hypocritical reasons.
*EDIT:* I've changed my list since then, but I still think that the original Friday the 13th does a few things better than the original Halloween, despite not being as good.

I know I'm in the minority but give me Zombie's sequel over that atrocious remake any day. Not that either is "good" but part 2 is at least worthy of the Guilty Pleasure category.

I was so glad to see Friday 2009 so high in the list I loved it and it was the first Friday film I got to see in the cinema as well. I'm just sad it's been 11 years this year since the last Friday movie I was full of hope after that one

I can honestly say the first Friday the 13th is my favorite in the series by quite a large gap. Like the entire series but Mrs Voorhees rocks my world!

I would say that the original has my favorite setting out of the entire series. Filmed at a real camp that’s still in operation today and it’s perfect.
Great stuff Cody. I have just a few disagreements with you here, but you're 95% on point. Zombie's H2 has it's good points, but I would place it somewhat lower. I totally agree that H3SOTW should've been a stand alone movie. I have the original Halloween at #1 and the first Nightmare at #2.

The first horror movie I’ve ever seen was Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. I was 3 years old watching it everyday. By coincidence the second most rewatched horror movie for me is the original Halloween.

I love how different films hit people differently. Friday the 13th is my favorite slasher franchise while Halloween may by my least out of the big 3. Though Halloween is my favorite film from the bunch. Haha. Can't wait for the Director 31 on 31 later today!
