My full auto M11/Nine has a buffer at the rear of the receiver. Given how old yours is and assuming the semi version has one, it needs to be replaced. If the buffer is deteriorated, you risk battering the rear of the receiver. A more modern version of the same gun is the Masterpiece Arms Defender. Model MPA30SST has a side charger and top rail. They also make the MPA30T which has the top charger like your M11/Nine. Despite its blocky looks, my Defender is one of the most accurate pistols I own.
Yes, the semi version has the buffer. And can batter the rear of the receiver. I even had to weld the rear back onto this one: ua-cam.com/video/hq_vM3A4T-s/v-deo.html

In this case, the faux suppressor. If fired from the hip as suggested, methinks it'd be beneficial to drill/tap a pic rail on there and mount a laser so it's not _completely_ "spray and pray".
Pre-ban means it was manufactured prior to 1986. This isn't necessarily just a look alike. Cobray owns the rights to, and manufacturered all of the MAC 10, MAC 11 machine guns. After 1986, a lot of guns were converted to semi auto. Only the pre 1986 can be owned as full auto or converted back to full auto. (With the proper paperwork of course)
