Yes. Crosshair should have had a quick "your way didn't work last time" conversation with Omega, to at least give him a little peace of mind. The shot would have been difficult for Crosshair when he was healthy, with so many people in a small area, and an ill Crosshair had little chance of making it.
2:57 gave me flashbacks to when Eric said “nooo! My vintage!!! Favreau!!” When the Razor Crest got blown up

Hunter slowly and ominously turning his head as we hear the Venator exiting hyperspace is one of the best moments. The slow realization how bad of a situation they're in
Crosshair's failure here is so ironic and sad at the same time, in the 5th episode of this season he criticized Hunter for losing Omega and here the same thing happened to him but failing in the thing that he and everyone trusted since his presentation... his aim

I mostly agree with you, however I don't think it was exactly his aim. Maybe that was part of it, but I think he just didn't get the shot off in time. Either way, he's totally going to be guilt stricken over it.

I was so sad to see Omega's plush toy left behind. When the ship was destroyed, the sadness turned into relief (and sadness because of the ship)
I feel the same about Tech's goggles. Imagine if both would have been destroyed 💔
I was 1000% sure Crosshair was finally going to succeed and nail that shot. And then the tracker just plops down, it's honestly kind of funny. That moment hurt me a lot

To be fair, he didnt MISS the shot. He shot true that time when it truly counted. The travel time and the speed of the ship were both just outta his control.
Just had a thought... We didn't see Hunter at the end of the episode. He was down at the waterfront, with Batcher, and both of them knew of the cave. Maybe Hunter and Batcher found the ship before the Clone-X agent called it for pickup, and placed a tracker or even snuck aboard?

@@iury2218 I noticed that too when she first took it off, but then there's was no hint that was the case, and the scan from the clone commando didn't turn it up to begin with, so I kind of doubt that.
true, but when they scanned her they didn't scan her hat, they scanned from her chest downwards so perhaps if there is a tracker in the hat, then It wasn't picked up by the scanner (?)@@benjaminportilla9297

While I did not get like crying emotional, when the ship got blown up, there was a sense of emotion that I did feel because I’ve been so attached to that for so long and I am dreading whatever could come now with the last four episodes😔

I like that throughout the search you just see Troopers with flame throwers so you have that silent threat of just how much destruction they are completely willing and able to pull to accomplish their mission.
Can’t even have a peaceful island like Pabu without the empire coming to invade.

Although we didn't see Gonky as far as I could tell after we saw them land in the water, the fact that they were able to retrieve Wrecker floating in the water right next to Gonky logically makes it easy to get both of them out just as easy as Wrecker.

I think if they find the coordinates to Tantis it has to be from Emery, Wolf or Omega tunes into the force from the little she learned from Ventress and reaches out to them. Its going to be a wild ending and I'm not ready for Omega or any of them to die.
Rex and Echo might be part of how they find it, a Rex vs Shadow Clone (Cody) face off could be epic. It would destroy Rex to see what has happened to Cody.

I predict they contact Ventress, she tells the empire she has an M Count kid to collect the bounty on, The Bad Batch, with Rex's clones, set an ambush for Scorch when he comes to collect, and that's how we get to Tantis. Why else would they have made a point of showing Emerie and Scorch picking up an M Count kid in Ep 10?
Also last time Omega was on Tantis she befriended Batcher and got a pet, this time I'm hoping Omega's new pet will be the Zillo Beast!
I think hunter is on the assasins ship. Thats why we didnt get a shot of him after he got on shore.
This episode got me all emotional thinking about what Ezra said in Rebels season 1 with the radio tower. About a time before the Empire came. Pabu was a safe haven for these people. Phee brought their cultures to them and they had a calm nice life. Seeing it all get overrun made me so sad thinking about what they all had to lose right there, then the fact that a CHILD was all that was needed for trade.
The only way I can see them finding the location to Mt Tantiss and rescuse everyone (unless they find another way) will be high risk and questioning their moral/ ethnic.
Basically they need Gungis and Fennec/ Ventress to help them. Gungis is bait and when Fennec/ Ventress take Gungi to the dropoff location, either Gungi has a tracker on him or put one on the Empire ship!
Or Rex and Echo have found the location. So we can have an epic moment of Rex vs the shadow clone and finding out it was Cody....

I have always being a respectful blindwave fan, and was only asking if they will react to the trailer bc they didn't to TBB Season 2. I would ask you respectfully to not make assumptions of my tone or intentions. Seems like toxic SW fans are everywhere.
Hm... when the shadow clone's ship got out of the cave and picked him and Omega up, we haven't seen Hunter or Batcher after that. So, they may have gotten onboard before it took of as they needed a new ship.
Last we saw of Hunter he was on the beach. The ship of the Clone X Trooper was in a cave by the beach before he called it to him. So what if Hunter stowed away on the ship while it was still in the cave. Batcher could have led him to it just like he led Omega to Ventress' ship.
what you guys said around 11:36 got me thinking… if rex’s whole network he’s been building amounted to those 8ish clones who were reduced to about 2, yeah no good.
but what if cody (who is noticably absent), is elsewhere commanding and preparing their bigger clone rebellion force. not expecting thousands of clones to show up, but maybe rex’s group on teth wasnt everyone.
That ending... it broke my heart. I can't imagine what Crosshair thinks of himself.
Hot take, but Bad Batch may actually be the best of the animated series. No, it certainly doesn’t have the huge lore impacts that TCW and Rebels did. And yes, it has its fair share of “filler.” But I just love the overarching story, it has me so much more engaged and interested in what’s going to happen next than Rebels ever did (and I love Rebels). This is like diet-Andor, and I wish more people watched this show because a lot of the fandom has dismissed it without seeing it.
Same. I love the more personal tone it has.
Bad Batch does some things really well, but for me Rebels is still solidly on top, and largely because of the characters.
@@zephyr835 that’s totally fair. I think there’s definitely an argument to be made for the strength of Rebels’ characters over the Bad Batch. Personally for me Ezra always annoyed me (even more than Omega ever has), and the story of Rebels itself is, again just for me, far less interesting than Bad Batch, but I also appreciate what Rebels does. Star Wars content and shows are varied and it’s totally fine for different people to like things more than others (or even dislike things).
@@MyToastyToast I like Ezra's growth through the series, though admittedly he's not my favorite of the Ghost crew.
Omega's been very endearing, especially this season I think. It's kinda nice that she's initially more childlike than Ezra or Ahsoka, based on age and circumstances (I think one of the BW guys may have pointed that out around the beginning). I like that she's held on to at least some of that, e.g. her faith in others.
This is definitely right up there but quite honestly at some point in all three series (TCW, Rebels & BB) the emotional payoff has been solidified for the viewer based on the character driven story lines. All three have bee/ were tremendous but I honestly feel this one is gonna end with the darkest tone.
Ngl, when Wrecker was wounded by the Marauder for a split second, I thought he died right then and there. Still though, part of me was like, no they wouldn't kill him off like that. Of course, they then confirmed that he was just wounded but I and many others have a suspicion that Wrecker's going to be the next member of the squad to die. Notice when Omega left two items behind, we have Tech's goggles and the doll we originally saw Wrecker had in the series premier. When she puts them on the shelf, I think that could be foreshadowing the Wrecker might die either during or before the finale.
Regardless, I think this show is building up to a dark ending. Either Rogue One style where all our main heroes die or a Clone Wars/Empire Strikes back style where not all of them die but they're heavily beaten down and the tone still conveys utter defeat.

Omega being alone with the Shadow Trooper in his ship should be all she needs to do something. While he's flying, she can sabotage the ship, or sneak and grab a blaster and stun him, something.
The guy managed to overpower and almost kill Crosshair with an injured leg, Omega ain’t taking him down

15:20 I found myself genuinely wondering that as well. They did do experiments and scans on Crosshair when he first joined, I wouldn't be surprised if they found out a way to mutate the genetic chip in a similar way to mimic the ability. It would make sense to want to replicate that ability especially. I don't think it's entirely founded, but I think it's a fun theory.
Anyone else think there will be a spinoff show of Rex and Echo as the continuation of the series?

This might be a bad take, but I honestly think the Shadow Trooper is a clone of Crosshair. If u listen, it’s got the same speech cadence as him.
Don't doubt yourself. I heard the exact same cadence as Crosshair in this episode in particular as well. There is definitely some sort of connection between the two of them especially considering the foreshadowing earlier on in the season with Crosshair's talk about the shadow trooper experiments that were performed on him.
As for how are they going to find her now, I suspect Rex and Echo have found something useful. No way we don't get a final big moment with Rex and him possibly seeing Cody is the Shadow Trooper.
I hope we get a moment with Rex, Wolf, and Gregor. It would make it flow into Rebels better.

Soldiers burning all the boats in a fishing city and then saying "You're harboring fugitives, it's your fault!" hits really close nowadays
The terminator-esque music of these last few episodes has been tremendous in setting the dark tone of this story. Just amazing.

Three possible people for getting the message out about Tantiss - Wolffe when someone tells him what's happening to his brothers. Ventriss trailing the X-trooper's ship. Or the X-trooper after Omega mentally wiggles her way through his conditioning.
Man, seeing Pabu getting burned felt like an inevitability is coming to pass.
I hope the team will get to Tantis by any means necessary!
As much as I don't want it to be him, I gotta say, Clone X's justification of "then you never should have come here in the first place" is the kind of logic I could imagine an evil Tech saying.
I hope we get either Ventress or Quinlan and Ventress to track Omega through the force to Mt Tantis
Another thought that makes me think the Shadow Clone is Cody is thinking back, the show had subtly had Cody and Crosshair have that talk in front of the memorial and such, so them fighting would be an easy thing to pull off, also if it is indeed Cody, it's interesting how Anakin's top clone who went good when Anakin went bad, but Obi-Wan's top clone went bad when he stayed good. Really shows that Anakin was a fair better leader then Obi-Wan ever was.
I predicted they'd let Omega be taken to track her back to Tantiss, but I didn't expect the plan to fail so spectacularly.

1000% believe the small time Ventress spent with Omega gave them enough of a connection that Ventress will help out.
Rex and Echo have still been out there lookin for their Clone brothers. We could have a face off of Rex vs shadow clone (Cody) and Rex is devastated to see what Cody has become, and has to put him down.

Definitely Cody he disappeared we haven’t seen him he was a highly trained clone the first or second most well known clone next to Rex he is also easily mind controlled and we already got our mind controlled team member story this one is Cody helped Crosshair change only to fall himself also also if tech was training with cross he would say something
Aaron kind of hit on it i think. My theory is the original Shadow Clones were the reprogrammed CT's. Clone X here is the first of a new batch, that is why the rest are not ready. He is a very fast aging clone. This ties into the reason Crosshairs was not terminated once the conditioning didnt work. They continued to experiment on him and extracted the gene mutation that gave him his freakish aiming abilities. He is a copy of Crosshairs - and Crosshairs will eventually have to sacrifice himself to kill Clone X.
The clone rebellion is what I’ve wanted forever. Really annoyed it isn’t taking center stage. In a perfect world I feel we’d see it unfold over multiple seasons
I think hunter is hidden in that assassins ship and his locater is used to find that hidden base
My bruh Calvin, he was just stating the current situation to them and to stay alert for any more bogies, any more of her crew that have been known to be willing to fight and die to keep her from them. But Scorch told him to only eliminate them if they *stand in his way.* Not to shoot first, ask questions later. They didn't want to kill anyone unless they had to, if they were challenged. Of which all the Batch tried to challenge them, no surprise. But his mission was to acquire the target unharmed, not to fight and kill the Batch. Only if they attempt to *get in his way.*
I too thought she had a second tracker that she had not activated
I think the mystery clone might be a clone of Crosshair, making the fight in the waterfall I kind of mirrored feel, aswell as the clone being able to make shots that we see that the current crosshair would have missed. Might also be a familial connection to why he would want crosshair alive or the cloning perhaps being incomplete in some way.

My only minor 'gripe' with this episode is that it feels like a carbon copy of the back end of last season where the same thing happened; the Batch failed to protect Omega and the Empire took her away, so the team have to track her down.
I have a bad feeling we're going to lose at least one member of the Batch next episode.

You know shit is getting real in a Star Wars show when the main ship is destroyed.
It would do a huge disservice to the show if they just find Tantis by just hitting up Ahsoka or Ventress on speed dial. We've been with these clones the entire show and they've survived through too much to just rely on the damn force GPS... I'm thinking the only way it could work is if Ventress has a lead on who to interrogate because of the kidnaping bounties the Empire has been throwing around.
Maybe this storyarch just goes right into the dark side. It would be one of the greatest twist of the ages. Somehow I root for that ending.
Now Im thinking that the infiltrator clone is actually a clone of Crosshair due to his shooting and at one point he sounds exactly like Crosshair.
That is crazy rapid aging if it is. Most likely a shadow. Second. Tech.

I'm starting to wonder if this ends with the whole bad batch dying and the empire keeping Omega. I mean we know Project Necromancer is successful in the long run, so maybe this show is going to end on really depressing finale. I have to prepare myself for that just in case so I'm not completely broken when it comes

I think Omega was trying to reach out Ventress in the end there, she seemed to hit almost like a meditative state…could be nothing, but I think we might be seeing Ventress again.

So many people in here theorizing Hunter got on board Clone X's ship or got his own tracker on it... better temper your unrealistic expectations cause that is 1000% not what happened.
Moving along, I feel like that by season's end the protagonists will have seriously damaged Mt. Tantiss's progress into Project Necromancer, setting it back to the point where it's still being worked on well into the New Republic era. Right now it seems like they're on the cusp of a breakthrough, but we know even several decades into the future it still isn't viable. Something's gonna happen there...
I'm hopeful for an adaptation of the old Clone Rebellion story, but it's gonna be a lot smaller in scope if they go that route.
Okay, how about a crazier theory of that specific cloneX character? What if it isn't Cody or Tech, but rather a Clone of Crosshair? Cause that character has some similar speech patterns as crosshair with how low he speaks and kind of hangs on his S's. Tack on the crazy good sniper shots, too. They tried to make Crosshair one of those types of clones, but his defectiveness didn't allow for it to work. So what if they just decided "fuck it, he's a Clone, make one of him but fix the defectiveness" that way he has all the skill but will also comply with orders without question. I'll admit, I'm probably pulling this out of my ass, but I can't help but notice sometimes that his speech patterns are similar to crosshairs
I thought they sounded similar too, would actually be pretty cool if the Empire manages to create evil clones of The Bad Batch.
That could be right, but I think his voice might be a sort of red herring. It's not consistent to me. Sometimes I swear he sounds like Crosshair, other times Echo, and sometimes he doesn't even sound like a Clone and it's way deeper. I honestly don't have a damn clue and I love it.
Aaron doesn't half drone on does he. May as well not have Rick or Calvin there as they never get a word in.
I was a little worried Omega leaving Tech’s goggles was gonna set up the reveal CX-2 was Tech and he’d have a programming relapse or whatever, but it kinda also sounds like in this episode CX-2 had Crosshair’s voice. I think the CX assassins are Crosshair clones.
This makes 0 sense tbh.
@@gbozzi05_ How so? Its all theories, I could see them setting up any number of characters as the basis of the CX assassins. Crosshair DNA (hence crosshair’s tremor. Maybe “our” crosshair is a clone?), Tech DNA (or actual Tech, maybe thats what the newer CX model is based on?), Cody (Theres no way Rampart would have told Crosshair the truth about a subordinate going AWOL)
@@PJWB Because it makes the accelerated growth ridiculous if fully trained clones are being made and sent out within a few weeks.
@@PJWB so they would clone a clone in the 6 months crosshair stayed there, grow them to their 20's (in less than 6 months) and train them like Crosshair (even though they would have been like a kid for the first 3 months).

@@willfanofmanyii3751 This is a season discussing bridging DNA, binding DNA, etc. We know they aren’t growing new Clones to become CX, and we know they are using more brutal and intrusive methods than the Kaminoans did. I can totally believe they honed in on what makes Crosshair unique, extracted it, and spliced it within a fully grown clone, as we’ve seen them being experimented on and now Crosshair is messed up. Again, just a theory, I would way rather it be random modified clones, but I wouldn’t pitch this if it wasn’t at least half viable for what modern Star Wars could try.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but from some vague shots in the trailer it looks like they are going to find out by busting a certain someone out of prison who was involved with Tantiss…
