- Nationwide are back with another switch deal, and it's open to both new and existing customers. Plus there's the chance to get it more than once, as you can claim it for a personal and joint account - that's £525 for a couple.
There have also been changes to the FlexDirect account, which has ditched the 0% overdraft in favour of 1% cashback on spending for the first year, along with 5% interest on savings.

Cannot stand this direct debit requirement. So f****** annoying. I've lost out on several switching deals because of this very thing. 😒😒😒
Just get two quick ones on scrimpr for 50p. Not difficult. They'll show on your account in three days
Check out my video on some quick and easy ones you can set up that send money to yourself
@@BeCleverWithYourCash What video is this ? Thank you
Trading 212 offer 5.1%, to go up I think they said and it’s not a regular saver, can invest, sell your investment, get interest and use the debit card..😂
I want to switch my NatWest to nationwide. I know it will shut my current account but will my NatWest credit card stay open?
Yes
Yep, though make sure there isn’t a fee on the credit card that is waived for current account customers. It varies by card
Thanks Andy for the great deal shared!
No problem 👍
Does anyone know, does the debit card transaction have to be with the physical card? Or can it be online?
It can be online, in a shop or even via something like Apple Pay. Just had to use the debit card
1 pound amazon balance top ups are the way. I did 10 x £1 to qualify for last switch offer
@@robg109 Looks like £5 minimum as of 27.09.24 .... or did i miss something
Can you switch a personal account to a Nationwide joint account to get the switch bonus?
Any bank account yes
Yep, but you can’t switch a joint into a personal
What a day…
Will there be an extra cashback offer from TCB or Quidco?
Quidco is so problematic, that I don't bother with it anymore!
@@fbaalliedI've recently used quidco again after some good offers have been on there and I've noticed it simply doesn't track. tried pc laptop and the mobile app. The tracking is non existent. is that the issue your getting? Topcashback never gives me these kind of issues
Sadly not
I have got a monzo personal account. Will i be eligible for the offer if i switch this to nationwide flex account. With 1000 in account, 2 direct debits and one purchase?? Also can i switch my personal account to joint account?
Will a couple of standing orders suffice or will they only accept direct debits?
Will I get cash if I had a flex direct account before?

Can you switch nationwide to nationwide and get the cash
created a new account - and they did a hard credit check 😢
Yeah sadly most banks will do this. Only a handful don’t - Chase, Starling and Monzo really (and that’s as long as you don’t ask for an overdraft with the latter two)
Do you know what the cap on cashback per month?
I've foolishly not kept track of when I've done bank switches - is there a way to see when i created/opened accounts?
All your bank accounts will be listed on your credit file, together with start/end dates. Equifax (free trial) or Experian.
If you have had a switch bonus on flex account (still active) can you switch into flex plus.
No it’s once per customer, unless you also get the joint offer (once per account here rather than person)
What’s the best way to open a bank account to switch from?
I believe Andy has recommended Chase before as they let you open multiple accounts
I'm planning to switch my bank account to Nationwide and have my direct debits become active on October 10th. I already have my standing orders set up. Can I proceed with the switching process now, or should I wait until closer to October 10th? Also, I was previously declined for a similar bank account offer. I have a significant amount of cash to invest. What factors might have influenced the previous decision, and what steps can I take to increase my chances of approval this time, even if I'm not currently employed?
Would we be eligible for this new switching offer if we switched into a joint Nationwide account given that each of us have already received a bonus incentive from Nationwide after 2021 for switching into a personal Nationwide bank account, neither of which was a joint Nationwide account.
My girlfriend has a flex graduate account, can she switch this account to a flex direct account and get the bonus?
Andy can't you just switch and select which of the three accounts rather than open an account first as per what your info says as it doesn't say that on their website it can be from a non-nationwide account?
So if i already have a joint flex plus. Can i switch to one of the others to get the cashback then switch back?
As i use the benefits.
do i use the switch to open it or do i open it then switch
Just doing the first direct hopefully this stays on for a couple of months as wont get my switch money from first direct until 20th November
Make a dummy account maybe even with first direct because this offer wont stay that long and you will miss out
When you switch to joint account does it have to be from another joint account?
You can switch from a personal account to a joint account,it does not need to be joint to joint
I opened a dummy account for the first direct offer with nationwide yesterday 😅
You can still do this offer, its open to customers with existing accounts as long as they havent got switch money from Nationwide since august 2021
@@f1ggyc not sure how I would go about doing this I’d have to cancel the first direct switch ?
