Some day there will be a guy in the woods wearing a gilly suit and he'll wonder why all these songbirds are following him.

She is cute.. the way she stares,, This place should be funded by everyone, who can spare a few dollars a year.. Imagine if a million people donate 2 dollars a year.. That's a lot..

One of my favorite animals on planet earth. So special. Good blesses those who render aid to those in need, be it animal or human. Man, as a species, has caused more harm and death to our world than ALL ANIMALS PUT TOGETHER! Is it too late to turn this around? It's NEVER TOO LATE but... if it doesn't start happening NOW... it just may be. 😢

In northwest ohio, we have a wildlife rescue/rehab center that sees 4000+ animals a year. They just had their spring "baby animal shower" donation drive. Between the schools and some local businesses they got lots of goodies! Personally, I crochet little nests and pouches for the baby birds and mammals.

Yes, owls are cute but holy @#$! those talons are sharp!!!!
I had a negative experience with a bird of prey in an ornithology class in college.
A rehab specialist brought a falcon or hawk into class and it LUNGED at me! I wasn't asleep OR looking oddly at the animal but geez did that bird have attitude! I'm glad it was on a leash or that bird would have ripped my face!
I think I trust birds of prey less than I do little dogs! (Ever notice how it is that larger dogs are generally friendlier with people? It's because they don't think they're lunch for something else!)

    You would have loved my
    mum, Kenan, her entire life
    was spent advocating for
wildlife as far back as the
    1920s. She kept our home
    CLOSED to the public too.
    I'm so grateful! I've never
    had to explain their upkeep
    or ask for funding. Ever!!
    You're the same way. You
    ask for others. But never
    for your animals. 😊✌️💚

Kenan you should make Busch Wildlife Merch and give all the profit to them! I would buy that. Or if they sold their own merch.

Concerning the tree cutting issue with the nesting Owls, in Germany it is not allowed to cut possible nesting areas (trees, big hedges) during the nesting season.

    • @evilvet

Which is great. In Germany. Trees flying through your house during hurricane season creaming your family? Not so much.

If Ollie IS on the order of 30 years old, I'm impressed.
With her issues, she's outlived quite a few other owls. I was doing some websearching and it doesn't seem like most owls live past 15 years, tops. I guess the record for an owl in captivity is 50 years for a horned owl species.
