David Angell, one of the creators and executive producers of Frasier whose name you see first in the credits in this, was with his wife on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center. The season 9 premiere was dedicated to he and his wife, and the final episode of Frasier also paid tribute to him (Niles and Daphne's newborn son was named David).
The major networks like ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC were ongoing coverage with thier news division until Sept 16. The WB and UPN only aired the coverage during the attack but the returned to normal programming the next day.
