Great to see faces and personalities come through in the video, it makes the hobby feel much more approachable in my opinion. The entire plaid wardrobe made me laugh tho, they just kept comin. I thought your editor might be just changing the colors hahahah.
Seeing this video makes me feel less intimidated to pick up the box set. A lot of other channels would do "24hour Speedpaint!!1! - WOAHH", but that's just not realistic for your average hobbyist. This, however, gives an achievable expectation on the time it takes to getting the teams painted up. It's really good to see this from the official GW crew, great job !
Honestly, these guys are also doing it to a pretty high standard. I work as a teacher so I have a busy job, but I can still crack out a decent 10 man unit in a few days just from an hour or two each evening. It won't take you 5 full days unless you are only painting for 1 or 2 hours a day.
@@mechamonkee I think it all depends how fast you paint and what your objectives are. I got 4 Ork Kommandos done in a week, but I treated them all like their own character and tried to give each one some personality. Color selection is always the part of the project that takes the longest, so if you know how you're approaching things you'll go a lot faster than trying something and changing your mind.
This is a great format for painting videos - seeing the people painting and getting to paint in pairs and converse and the like. Please keep doing these kinds of videos.
Ollie and Emma made some super unique colour schemes. Orange and Purple are pretty difficult colours to pull off in 40k. This video was a lot of fun :D!
Youre doing a really good job with these videos! Great hosts, lots of fun concepts, beginner friendly and helpful tips. I know all GW painters have a particular way of doing things for the official videos. But i think it would be good if they showcased different approaches to painting. Perhaps it would be cool to use a spray as a base coat and then just layer on top of that? Im sure all these great painters have a lot of fun approaches and there isnt ONE approach to painting that suits everyone. Just a thought.
when your kill team box comes and u can't wait to open it and then, nearly all vespid wings are bend and one are broken off and the whole playboard is ripped off.... what a nice day^^
This seems like a fun challenge to encourage painters to get to work, I’m considering trying it with my Mandrake Kill Team that’s been sitting in my workspace ready to paint for months.
Thanks for the cool video. Both Kill Team Modell looks amazing and really great painting job of both of you. I like this kind of videos is always good to keep me moivated.
Fun stuff. I'm looking forward to getting the box set! I'll definitely be leaning hard on contrast paints for my teams; I have so much more luck with them.
Great format to the video, only suggestion would be to avoid breakign the 180 degree rule, if you film all 3 angles from 1 end of the table it will stop parts of the dit being disorientating
painting mine as warpdivers, they are drop troops from Super Terra and every time they score VP a "ba da duhhh duhhhhhh" chime sounds in their helmets unfortunately, due to an incident with a children's hospital they don't take mines
Even if it's only a text guide, could you guys elaborate on the steps for the Vespids? Absolutely love the blue/khaki exoskeleton contrasted by the pink membranes!
We reached out to Ollie for his recipe, and here's what he told us: I started with a Grey Seer undercoat, then did two thinned down layers of Nighthaunt Gloom for the exoskeleton, shaded with Nuln Oil and drybrushed with Deepkin Flesh! (If you'd like more info on that, check out Adam's video painting Ushoran: ua-cam.com/video/cNWJKFWGusA/v-deo.htmlsi=saNGkyBW4oC6aplb&t=1057). I used several thin layers of Krieg Khaki to build up that cool colour transition on the exoskeleton. For the wings i simply used Volupus Pink over the Grey Seer undercoat! Hope that helps!
I'm relatively new to painting and was just wondering what the tool the bloke is using at the 16:52 mark and what effect is it being used for. It looks like a sponge, but just wanted to double check. Edit: missing word Edit 2: ignore me, I asked before watching the rest of the video. They explain it in there. Sorry lol
Really like this format, puts a bit more personality into the regular painting videos.
ikr?
breaks away from the "robotic" way the colours are rattled down and applied, so I like this format
Yes. I hope they do more of these.

Whole dept is plaid from floor to ceiling tbh.
I kept laughing at that as well. I love to see it, though lol

This is brilliant. Feels really approachable, fun and engaging.
Love this style of "challenge" video - Loved the Striking Scorpions Kill Team one too!
i love this format, a lil more lax, more casual looking, just two friends bonding over painting their armies
I hope you guys do more videos like this :D Really enjoyed the hobby elements and hope you guys do more like this for other duo releases like this !
Like this style of video, please do this with future killteam boxes. Cheers.
Agreed!
You should do more of this type of format. Been hoping you would do a dedicated kit-bash series or base making
really great format, and great to see thought processes behind colours

This was a really cozy watch :) and as a year around plaid shirt wearer, I am happy to finally get some representation in the world of Warhammer!
Finally?! Warhammer World is a forest of plaid.
Very cool idea, y'all. Really enjoyed watching Ollie and Emma work through these two forces.

Really enjoyed this, thank you. More like this please!
I like the transitions on Ollie’s bugs exoskeleton.
Loving the World Surf League advert montage backing track dropping every now and again.
Thanks for the cool video. Both Kill Team Modell looks amazing and really great painting job of both of you. I like this kind of videos is always good to keep me moivated.
You gotta stop dropping dope new strain colors for Vespids before they're even out, its already hard to decide how i wanna paint em😭
Absolutely... I’m tempted to have different color schemes for each model.
Love this new format please do more
Can’t wait for November to paint the bugs myself
Loved the format of this video !
Like the new formatting, good job.
I like this format!
Super cool video, this is what we want. One question though: how many flannel shirts do these fine people own???
yes.
@@officialwarhammer 😅

Definitely a fan of this video format!!
I've got to finish repainting my Novitiates Team and Start on my Hernkyn Yaegirs, but my Hearthkyn Salvagers are more than ready for what's to come!
Fun stuff. I'm looking forward to getting the box set! I'll definitely be leaning hard on contrast paints for my teams; I have so much more luck with them.

Could the GW torture department stop doing a great job please and let the sales department take over to bring the new box to us ASAP! Thank you.
I mean they've already said it'll be out in October so its likely a couple of weeks before preoders
Love the videos like this

@@officialwarhammer Awesome, looking forward to getting them done
Hey guys just an idea -- instead of the black lines for a wasp looking vespid instead do small black dots?
more videos like this!
Next is a long game of Kill Team.
