    How do straight arm movements work the biceps? 🤔

    • @DESIGNByMJ
      @DESIGNByMJ 27 днів тому +2

      Since the bicep also connects to the shoulder, the stretch moving the whole arm from the shoulder also affects the bicep

    • @FilippoCardoni
      @FilippoCardoni 9 днів тому

      By keeping the arms straight the biceps will try its best to bend the arm under heavy load, which means if you force it straight it will get damaged and grow, simply put... just try it and see for yourself

    It’s more lat load than bicep load

      Spoken as somebody who doesnt know anatomy and hasnt tried this. Let me educate you.
      The bicep serves two vital functions in this skill
      1- bicep tension stabilizes the elbow, preventing you from joint locking yourself
      2- the bicep actually assists with pressing the shoulders down, because little known fact, it crosses the shoulder joint as well as the elbow joint.
      The lats are not unimportant in this, but the most important muscles are the pecs and biceps.

      @@DubiousDubs Incorrect when you say "the bicep actually assists with pressing the shoulders down" because the bicep moves the radius/ulna bones of the forearm ONLY. The attachment point youre talking about is the Coracoid and its the brace point but the bicep here is stabalizing the elbows from lock as you say but the LOAD is not on them, its 90 degrees up (or down) offset rotated.. The LOAD is in direct line with the with the latissimus dorsi at the perfect center of the ROM it has. So no, you wont educate me, but with my masters degree in anatomy from Penn State I will probably educate YOU.

      @phoenix21studios if you seriously think that having the line of forcing slightly offset means that the muscle isn't loaded, then I think perhaps you shouldn't have that masters degree. And for my part, I'm a PTA, so I'm plenty educated myself XD

      @phoenix21studios also had to add, with correct technique the shoulders are internally rotated, with biases the pectoral muscles much more than the lats 👍
