I fucking love the rings they're so good for building strength and hitting all those tiny muscles if you could only get one piece of equipment for a home gym id deff just get a pair of rings they're so versatile
I just have bought a pair of rings and... boy. I am quite a fit 31 year old guy and thefirst workout left me trumbling and in muscle pain for almost three days. It challenged me beyond any expectations. I Loved it. Great video!
This is just amazing I love the style of drawing and chatting it really gets the information across in a nice way rather than just having infographics and pop up thanks again
It's very good you stumbled upon the idea of talking about exercises while digitally drawing. It's common on channels about books, ideas, especially math, but I would've never thought about gymnastics. A refreshing change from seeing real people record themselves doing things. The only limitation is when you have to draw movements, but it's not too bad.
@@tmac2368 Work on increasing lat/scapula strength and hypertrophy since they work as stabilizers for the planche, use box or bar Maltese raise to practice the mechanics of the movement in a greater range of motion, and if you're doing the rto variation work on tucked leg progressions, or use resistance bands with the complete hold decreasing the band support (lowering band resistance) until you're able to perform the movement.
I would just show off to a comment like this, but this gymnastics stuff is just admirable in any sense it show too much discipline and that is beyond anything a respectable thing
I think the rings are slept on when it comes to a lower body training aperatus. Assisted pistol squats and foot in ring split squats are awesome for stability and addressing instabilities and compensation.
Great video! As an artist im always striving to be a better, stronger, more versatile human. Helps with my understanding of my art....somehow. balance. Stay focused out there guys!
I am loving your videos. The depth of knowledge and attention to detail is amazing. Glad I found your channel, they are truly life changing, for me at least. Have an an amazing day.
Great content, as always! I really really like your videos and your style (both artistic and educational). It delivers honest and high quality information in a pretty direct manner. Thank you for taking the time for doing this!
ShapeShifters Den Your channel is one I usually look forward to see new posts. I don't know how busy you are or how many videos you have planned ahead, but I'd like to ask for one. Do you have any thoughts you could share with us on strengthening of ligaments, tendon and other structures to toughen up and weaponize the body? (Make it more resilient?) You already touched upon tendon strengthening compared to muscle, the importance of stabiliser muscle, kinetic linking and so many other nice subjects. Perhaps you could go specifically on bulletproofing? Cheers!
you are a godsend, these are so informative and concise i've been looking to get some of these rings and glad i came across this before i did thanks for the video!
been training on exclusively rings for years your forearms will get fuckin humongous and doing them in the gym is nice, you'll very obviously stand out
Wow a bunch of skills are needed into making this vid, drawing, knowing the rings, video editing, etc. Drawing is interesting skill to have, can tell anything with it. Especially with good drawing skill like that, can take any form just from the mind and start drawing the result.
Also using chalk helps a lot! I've been training with rings for a few months but would always slip out of the false grip position but by using chalk it is super easy to hold and it even feels normal.
I've seen multiple videos about the 101 of gymnastic ring. They are not bad.. Some even good, but I like it the best!! In only one video, I can feel that I get a lot smarter! Hahahaha.. No exaggerating, but your explanation is very clear and easy to understand. Can't wait for the next video, pal
I love your content and think you deserve way more attention than you already have. Try sharing your videos on Reddit, forums and everywhere you can. also this art style would fit nicely on insta gram and Pinterest so try developing your channel there Too.
I've seen a channel explode from 50 to 1000+ subs just because of being shared to a reddit community. You should post a thread to a large subreddit (367k subscribers) called "bodyweightfitness". I have written a guide to understanding professional ring competitions, and it got a lot of positive feedback there.
I started working out with my new gymnastic rings and today by the end of my session I felt something pricking my hand and it was a small splinter that lifted from the wooden ring. Those rings look and feel high quality, they are silky smooth! But this bummed me out a bit because the rings are brand new, I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I am using them. Just wanted to know if this is normal, with time it will keep developing splinters? What is the best solution, just sand it down? Then varnish? I wanna treat the wood because it comes "raw". I think I will apply a wood sealant, then a matte varnish coating. If that does not solve the problem in the long term, I will just wrap the rings using duct tape.
If I just want to be good with rings, you think I need to focus just in rings foundamentals, or still doing basics with bars, I can do 12 pull ups with a bar (no hollow body) 6 pulls ups with rings, hollow body, and none with hollow and falsegrip. I really dont care about bars, but I dont know if the strenght Is really transferible, positions aré so different so I think doesnt
The rings can be really hard on the body if it's all your doing, at least until your strength levels get to the advanced stages. You would still need to do calisthenic exercise off the rings as support work (maybe 3 times a week) and do the rings as high intensity sets less often ( maybe twice a week right after the warm up but before the support work). The straight bar is useful for this, however it's not considered the main support tool of the rings. Male gymnasts use the rings more than anyone and build up to it mostly through parallel bar and parallette work. Parallel bars are hard to find outside of gymnastic gyms, however parallettes and dip bars work well. Especially along side a pull up bar with parallel grips for parallel grip pull ups. I have a video on parallettes on this channel you can check out if your interested. Hope this helps, best of luck my friend.
This guy is the man! He was teaching me boxing, dude knows his shit!
David! Thanks for the kind words my friend. Hope all is well for you
The drawings are beautiful and the information is so well structured! Glad I stumbled across this gem
Holy fuck. The way you explain and draw things is so original. Definitely subbing and waiting for more

What the hell - how isn’t this channel more popular? What an amazing way to explain exercises. 10/10
i am astounded at how engaging you present the information and how well you draw physical proportions omg!

I'm going to try that out. I don't slip out but I tear open plenty of callouses. Thanks for the tip Gleb! Feel free to share them here anytime.
Gleb Krasnoborov
What kind of rings are you using? I'm guessing plastic or metal - go with wood rings, they're less prone to slippage.
Your videos are very educational and informative, they're easy to apply, thanks
OMG I love your drawings.
Your art style is amazing!
Fantastic class! Just got my rings!
Great video, super drawing. I wish I could draw like this. The success is within the details..

I think this just inspired me to actually go and get rings finally. Thank you so much!
Thats awesome!, take it slow at first to give the tendons and ligaments some time to adjust. But besides that, just have a blast my friend ;)
