Another nice wrap up video and congrats on the win. Just something I would suggest tossing out there in your future videos, since I know this comment won't be seen. You touch on it a bit, but advise riders that are jumping into the sport and those wanting to move up in categories, to not be so hasty to jump to that next level. Taking time to learn pack riding skills, bike handling, how to properly react bumping and getting bumped, etc. is just as important as improving your FTP. Locally we have way too many guys that are strong riders, but they lack certain skills and have moved up way too fast for anyone's benefit. Some of these guys train like crazy indoors or do lots of solo rides because of some program they are following, show up for a local races and end up being a danger to themselves and everyone around them in a large fast group. Suggest more that riders work on basics, like how to lean into someone, not grab handfuls of brake if they touch wheels, riding in crosswinds or proper movement of an echelon. Of course the biggest issue is usually putting ego aside long enough to allow yourself to accept criticism and take advise from those with experience. Just my two cents.
With the win and the race with the Pros, CV now stands for "Cycling Veteran" lol. Congrats on the win, Ricky. :) Honestly, I cannot fathom how you can do two races on the same day. You are at an amazing fitness.
Did you race this course last year? For some reason I feel like I remember this place. Also, just trade in your GoPro session’s to GoPro and get Hero7’s where you can bring extra batteries. I just got a Hero7 black and going to start making some collegiate race tapes soon, that was my solution to multiple races in a day.
Always great Ricky, thanks for sharing. Have always wondered what else was different besides speed at the upper levels. And big congrats on your Cat 3 win, there'll be more and you'll have footage then
Good work. You mentioned the average speed was about 29mph, how fast do you think you could ride this course solo all out for an hour? Seems impressive that there are people pulling at that speed.
Thats great news. Sucks that you don't have it on film. Yea The Banana Guy loves starting problems ha ha ha .. I think they should get in the ring and duke it out ha ha ha ha Don't forget Phil was talking shit about Fabian motor doping ha ha ha ha this shit never ends
Nice riding, continue to develop more power on the bike to hope bring Down your heat-rate. Off season weight training or heavy gear work outs... CAT 2 road , CAT 1 track
Cycling Virgin 200 HR high! Your HR was good but when the power lowered, your HR didn’t seem to decline fast enough. ... love the videos, I alway watch your posts!! Keep them up and I love your passion for cycling.
I live in florida, I’m 22 years old and want to become a pro. I’m working hard but I have no idea about which races should I go so US can notice me, my goal is to go to the U23 world championship next year can you help me with few tips? Sorry about my english also I enjoy every single one of your vids hehe keep it up
I'm at cat 4 but ive done some P1-4 races that were all combined and i remember my friend who was a cat above me wasn't as active as i was in the race ans surprised some of the guys on his team that i was bridging up to the break away and always hit the counter attacks hard. I believe the few races i did that it was a feild of 65 guys. An i agree i was so much more comfortable racing with them in a 4/5 their so surgry and not keeping the pace even now that I'm closer to getting my upgrade i only go on moves unless they stick for more then 10 seconds then i go or i wait till i can break away from the pack late since i got a decent snap to get away from the group. My last race i blew the pack apart with my 1.5k attack late. Even getting caught right before the line i got a top 15
I had to stop watching this video after I noticed the ASU socks and the race being on "that" campus... rivalries never die or take a day off CV... #Wildcats 😂
who else noticed that sweet back flip at 3:45
that kid did it again at 5:00 ish
Let's play a drinking game. Everybody take a shot every time CV says "TIght". :)
thanks for sharing your insights bro. i'm a total noob so it's real good hear about the differences between the cats.
Great insights on riding differences in the categories.

I will talk about it more because I 100% agree. Smart trainers are great but can create and imbalance between fitness and bike handling/group riding.
Great video Bro and congrats on your win.
Thank you Omard!

Yes I have done it before going the reverse direction and won it as a cat 5. Yeah new camera is in the works for sure!
Congrats on the upgrade bro !
Thanks CJ!
Speed issues with the head unit could be from the metal overhang blocking enough satellites to make bad speed readings.
Good incite maybe I will grab a speed sensor.

Its a bit much. Seems like anyone that drops him on his backyard climb is on the juice.
Cycling Virgin ha ha ha ha yea he loves drama 😂 but so dose Phil to write a book 🤓😂 I find it amusing.

Thought my heart rate was at a decent place. They guy who won runs at 190-205. Of course I could always be more fit not saying otherwise.
