Sir I have queries , the camshaft inlet worn out and clearnce was to tight in this video , my question is the valve was bend also? And what shim you put for the tight clearence of inlet.

Bhai ktm duke2000 ki battery kitne shal tak chalti hai? Mere 3 years and 3 months ho gaye hai 😊😊 ab bhi ek dam mast chalti hai starting problem aaj tak nahi hua par ab aj kal display par low battery aa dikha rha hai jab bhi ignition on karke 40/50 seconds tak throttle na de tab.

Question: is it easy or difficult to find all the parts for this bike currently? I own the Duke version of this dream machine and I love it to death. I'm wondering if you would advise me to collect all the parts of the engine as a backup to keep in my garage for say 10 years from now?
I'm never selling my bike; I do plan to work on it myself after it gets really old. It's done 30,000km and running like makhhhhan, zero issues till date :)

If you're talking about 10 years ahed then yes, gather everything you need or could because parts supply chain of KTM isn't that great and it'll be a problem in the future

Informative video and great work! I have a question. Now you have opened the crankshaft do you still believe using engine blocking nut to tight magnet side is going to imbalance the crankshaft? Also, can show us how KTM 390 new crankshaft looks like?
I've opened the crankshaft back in the days brother.... And if KTM itself is saying that you can tight the magnet side with the locking nut then there should be no issues... However i still will do it my way for peace of mind

Hi Jeet, at 16:00 when you start the bike, the idle is lower and it slowly climbs up to a stable one. What is the reason for that if that happens every time the bike is started hot?

I have the same bike but I service it on 3000 kms or early rather than 5000 kms as told by KTM.

Thanks for the video. My bike 2015 rc 390 is having starting problems. I have air, fuel and spark. I have replaced the rings, head, and valves and all main seals. New timing chain and shims. It will start sometimes after a few cranks and then runs perfectly. Usually it will just crank and backfire a little or sound like it is going to start but does not. I really don’t know what else to try. I have set the timing many times trying one tooth this way or that with little success. What am I missing?
What's the valve clearance ? What's the condition of the crankshaft bearings? What was the piston ring gap when measured?

First a tiny bit more history on the bike. I bought it used- it was not cared for and had been through an engine explosion of sorts. It was running and starting perfectly but I found some chunks of metal when changing the oil. I decided to take it apart and find out where they had come from. The piston and cylinder were perfect and had obviously been replaced as was the crank. I replaced the crank bearing inserts. I did not check the ring clearance as it had been running fine before and the piston and cylinder looked new. I did replace the rings. The head was banged up and had not been replaced when it was previously fixed so I replaced the head and valves and valve seals. The exhaust valve clearance was right but the intake valves were both too loose. After several months I was able to get new valve shims and finished putting the engine back together. I had taken a pic of the cams so I was able to put them back exactly as before. I used the bolt in the crank as well as the timing mark on the stator side to make sure I was at top dead centre. When it decides to start now it takes more cranking than before. It would always start immediately.
The valve clearance on both the intake Ann’s exhaust is within spec

Top piston ring - 17mm
Middle ring - 55mm
Exhaust valve - both 15mm
Intake - left - 10mm
Right - 15mm (with 2.32mm shim)

2014 Ktm rc 390 issue. Bro sometimes I insert the key and switch it on but nothing comes on display, no self start, no errors then when I try next day it is back to normal. Do you think its is a key code problem or internal wiring? The battery is checked and its fine.

Hi. What does it mean if the bike is showing a "fuel lev s error" and engine does not start? Is there something i can do to try and start it at home as nearest service centre is 90km away. Have got the battery checked and it is showing "good". Have tried pushing starting it in 2nd gear but did not work. Any suggestions for a DIY fix for this? I have a 2017 duke 390. It was unused for a couple of months so this issue happened.
