The gs wire is "general purpose, single pass" rated, as in you can't go back over it. The 11 or "mr" is actually rated for multiple pass welding. Which is why that's all I'll buy.

I've made multipass welds many times with GS wire and have yet to see an issue from it. But hey, that's the beauty of freedom, we all get to read warning labels and make our own decisions.

Absolutely, an I wasn't trying to be a know it all or whatever, I just thought it was valid info is all.

I saw elsewhere that the welds will be more brittle when using single-pass wire to do multiple passes.

@@ItchyKneeSon something about the manganese content, I believe. But no matter really. If Lincoln electric says single pass or multiple pass, I'm gonna go with what they say lol. Who would know better than them? Show me a pro welder that doesn't use Lincoln electrodes, in any process

I wonder if thats the the same wire I got unmarked with my ssimder welder?

It probably is, I expect it's also the same as the roll that came with my Simder Mig 140. Pretty decent wire, I'd use it for almost anything.

INE TO ME IS BEST OUT THERE FOR MY OPINION.

lol, this could have been a 50 roll shootout and someone still would have said that. And BTW, you don't even tell me what brand that is that you think is best. I'll make you a deal, you send me a roll of what you think is "best" and I'll compare it with the others. But much like the shootout I did with UV protectant sprays, I'm just not financially able to buy every single brand on the market.
