Having Steven Yuen question why people would watch a show about zombies is hilarious.
Don't think that's Steven asking that question, funny regardless
Something tells me that his mother just isn’t a fan of Negan.
He probably lost his memory when negan whacked em
I was laughing as well!
Shit that didn't even cross my mind 🤣

I watched this at TIFF this past weekend. Really loved it. The performances are incredible, the screenplay is terrific and it’s one of the best directorial debuts I’ve watched in a long time. Can’t wait for everyone to see it.
How is Amy Schumer's performance? As good as the rest?
@@CaptainMagni She’s actually very good! Everyone is equally great here.
Not horror at all right?

"No, we just have a lot of stoic sadness"

Steven better get another nomination for this, maybe even a win
Richard Jenkins is always superb, can’t wait to see him own this role
Saw this at Tiff last Sunday and it is one of the most honest things I've ever seen. The humor, the drama, the tension... all so real. Felt so refreshed and introspective coming out of it. Definitely going to see it again.
What movie this is about? Horror or drama or what? It seems so interesting
Is there HORROR ?
horror????
Hey...hey, hey....”horror”? Please tell us more
Just exaggerating, tense is a better word for it.
steven yeun deserves an oscar just for existing
that's what god would have wanted

Can never get this movie put of my head. Some of the shots with the rain and the windows were some of the best I've ever seen. The dialogue felt so raw and real

Horror??? 🤔
@@aleee2323 it’s A24, so you never know, shit goes left really quick 😳
It's based on a Broadway play from years ago. Straight up horror is pretty rare for commercial theatre, but this was an exception. There's no gore or death (well, death could be up for debate), but the atmosphere becomes pretty intense even if it's ambiguous whether anything supernatural is happening. The creepiness kind of sneaks up on you as you watch it. Despite being in a theater with a big audience, you could hear a pin drop during the last scene of the play. I'm sure it'll work even better on film given how the claustrophobia can be used.
Suddenly, cannibals.
@@clayflix9569 It's that old apartment building being a character itself.
The background music is "Sequence (Four) by Peter Gregson" if anybody found the music awesome.
Thankyou! Delighted to have my music involved in such a fabulous looking film, and I live for A24 as well..!

"The reason I couldn't finish school is because of depression."
Been there 😅
Glad I'm not the only one who's struggled to finish school because of depression. I'm finally almost done
Currently there now, but seeking help to hopefully move past this and finish strong
I'm the same, I'm 25 and starting college next week after dropping out a few years ago. Unfortunately the depression seems to be kind of creeping back. Little worrying but hopefully I'll be ok.
@@Emtrax. I’m taking a really long leave of absence for the same reason…. Tried going back last semester but things sadly didn’t work out for me. But I Hope everything works out for you!! And hey it’s still pandemic season so being able to take classes online might help:)
Love the Alien and Demon idea that they tell each other scary stories about humans.
Soo i'm guessing that was original inspiration for Monster's Inc. Seems like an old tale.
Me too. Anyone know the comic?
.
@@ethanz3837 Sounds like the premise of I Am Legend except that one is about vampires.
there's actual webtoon (online comic) that similar to this by korean author. it's basically ghosts having night out and tell each other creepy stories about human. and it's implied that the story that ghosts were telling is their actual story. the human story is more like disturbing story of how evil human could be. anyways it's a great comic
If Amy Schumer could become likeable, it would be the greatest comeback of all time. Good luck
Yeah let’s see because I can’t stand her
My thoughts exactly!😬
I find it really weird that people are so obsessed with hating someone they don't know, that they literally search for content on them so they can comment on how much they hate them.
Dude, get help.
What’s so unlikeable about her? She seems fine to me 🤷🏻♂️
@@dreaming_cthulhu well she's been accused of stealing jokes and some just find her unfunny
“The main reason I wasn’t done with school yet was because I was depressed for a bit” is literally me rn
You're hiding behind depression to make your failures ok. Stop being a victim and learn to have a more successful mentality.
"Stop dad, stop!"
"Don't actually stop dad."
Goosebumps right there. There couldn't have been a better portrayal of puberty than that.
I hate to break it to you but the character who said that is in her 40s so yeah I doubt it's a portrayal of puberty
it’s a good scene but looks like maybe the character is going through a divorce and not puberty
This it’s pretty haunting. Not only comment. But also the likes of someone hearing “stop dad stop, and don’t actually stop dad” then thinking about puberty? Is pretty creepy to say the least…
I see Steven Yeun, I click the like button.
I see Amy Schumer, I click the dislike button
The Humans…a bunch of scary stories indeed. This looks promising 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I watched this movie when it premiered at TIFF and I was completely blown away. You will find yourself completely engrossed with the characters and their stories. Outstanding performances from everyone and just top-notch cinematography sealed the deal. A must-watch. A24 has another gem in its portfolio!
Doesnt take much apparently
This looks so great
A24 saving cinema once again
I love this play so much, and knowing the playwright is also the director/screenwriter for the adaptation has me SO hyped for this!
Glad to see June Squibb landing some great roles too, she's fantastic
I just want to see this movie for all the framing, composition and blocking. Looks like it's gonna be a masterclass.
Beanie Feldstein is really taking over!!! ❤ Booksmart, What We Do in the Shadows, ACS: Impeachment, and now this! Super proud of her, she's amazingly talented!
I agree! She was also great in How to Build a Girl.. more Beanie, please!!
And soon in the new Broadway revival of Funny Girl!
The ending of this film gave me sleep paralysis. 10/10
This movie seems to touching already like jeeeeez
This was a great watch. Amy Schumer is great, Steven Yuen and Richard Jenkins too. The family dynamic shown here made em realize that I had actually never seen any American movies where the portrayal of a family is natural (with maybe a rare exception here and there). This is not a horror movie, this is a sadness/dread/melancholy movie with characters at various points coming to terms with their reality and with each other in that reality.
Steven Yeun's march toward becoming Emperor of the Earth continues!
I'll never get tired of seeing Academy Award Nominee in front of Steven Yuen's name. Btw this trailer wrecked me. Can't wait to be moved to tears.
I'm sorry but am I the only one that realized that Amy Schumer is in this film, and she's actually giving a good performance!?!?!?! Finally, she's breaking out of her boundaries and stepping into new territories like independent movies. Kind of excited to see how she does in a dramatic movie when the movie comes out
by far the weakest actor on the film
No, shes terrible
Just watched the movie, it surprised me how good she was in this movie. I really wish she would do more serious roles like this, I wish she would step out of her comfort zones a lot more. She's fantastic in this movie
@@ItsYaBoySkinnyPenis69420 but that doesn't mean she's bad. She was really good in this movie. Take the compare game out of this, she's still good

Yup. Its rare to see an actor in such great roles after being tied to a tv show for so long but he's just fantastic and the projects he chooses are consistently great
@@DerFrischkopf yeah, Jon berenthal is in a similar position. A lot of walking dead actors are great, so I hope to see more of them in more projects in the future too.

and also the tragedy of macbeth
A24 is saving the American film industry from becoming a junk.
“Don’t you think it should cost less to be alive” man, have I been thinking that exact same thing for a while
It looks so beautifully dramatic and modestly funny! I love the wide cinematography and the blue colours! Also I'm so glad Steven Yeun is in another A24 film.
Idk whyy, I was very excited when I got the notification of the latest movie trailer from A24, especially when there was Steven Yeun whose acting was very deep in his role when he played in Minari. can't wait to watch this movie later!
The main reason I'm not done with school yet is
because I was depressed for a bit
"In my family, we don't have that kind of depression"
This single sentence hits harder than mom's slippers, definitely gonna watch this masterpiece
why is nobody talking about how Amy Shumer actually seems to be doing well at this serious role just by watching the trailer?
In life you come to realize...good, bad, or indifferent ...family is everything! Because when they're gone ...they're Gone!!
Character Actors deserve so much recognition
That NYC apartment is another character. Talk about dingy. Absolutely no direct sunlight. The downstairs part of the apartment looked like a prison with those metal bars. The way it was shot all you see is them in another room listening in on their conversations. Very interesting movie.
Huge fan of anything Steven Yeun works on!
"everything you have, goes". that hits really hard.
What song used at the beginning of the trailer?
Steven Yeun coming for that Oscar trophy! He's gonna devour this role!
Omgawddd amy schumer ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love that she is exploring such roles 😭

" Don't you think it should cost less to be alive ?" Truer words never spoken .

How to shoot a film in a small house: Shoot through door frames
Really think you missed the boat with this trailer guys. This makes it seem like weird, arthouse fare - which, sure, it is, and that is a part of A24’s brand. But I’ve seen so many critics describe it as almost a horror film, and I think a trailer which used horror/thriller trailer editing and music would be a startling contrast to the more mundane things we see happening. Just a thought for when commercial release nears.
On the contrary, I like this apporach. It create an unexpected subterfuge. It's a trailer that doesn't shows all the cards, or even the cards at all. Expect the unexpected.
Which is exactly why this trailer is clever. Trailers in itself are an art form and a misdirect is part of the fun.
“ Don’t you think it should cost less to be alive” I felt that.
The play is so great, I can't wait for this film!
Right?! So touching :)
I'm convinced that A24 films can't miss.
You can say what you want about Amy Schumer, but she is a fantastic dramatic actress. I think this is her kickstart to dramatic roles. She is going to be like a Bill Murray. She will start as a comedic actress/standup comedian, and then her roles will completely change. They will be dramatic with mildly comedic moments.
Melissa McCarthy is slowly doing it as well.
“Autumn in New York” - Billie Holiday
In case anyone else was wondering :)
Thank you so much
Looks beautiful! such vivid colors and masterful shots, classic A24.
I hope this does for Amy Schumer what Uncut Gems did for Adam Sandler
Absolutely loved this movie. I would really love to see a sequel....🤔🤔🤔🤔
"don't you think it should cost less to be alive"... ouch... there's a whole lot of truth to that and a whole lot more pain.
A24 is saving Hollywood. Thank you for releasing original films.
Doesn't need saving
@@redfordreddington8834 Film is dying. More eggs are being put into the streaming service series basket and it shows. I'll sound like a buzz kill, but A24 is overrated imo. They didn't reinvent the wheel. Sure, some films released have been great and I'll check this one out, but others have been misses that feel like they're trying far to hard to make a weird art film. Especially the one where the entire buildup of suspense ends with the revelation that a dude had intercourse with a horse that then killed him. Time I'll never get back.

Is it horror or not? That part in the trailer with the lady walking down hallway with a different person in the reflection... @1:35
Steven Yuen is fucking killing it with his post Walking Dead career.
actually saw this play in downtown dallas years ago and it’s honestly really well constructed and made you feel so many emotions; sadness, pain, anger, frustration, and happiness. it’s really good guys i recommend it
This is surprisingly my favorite film from 2021. The filmmaker sure has "cinematic" eyes for an adaptation from his own play.
Never thought I'd see the day where I'm excited for a film featuring Amy Schumer
Glen has never been the same since Negan bashed his brains out !
Very interested in seeing Amy Schumer in a dramatic role. Looks like she’ll be great
Nah he tweaking
Most def.
I was thinking the same. It’s cool she taking a serious role.
Nice trailer, but was I the only one waiting for some type of demon to pop out, and start killing people?
Another amazing project wow!
A24 is life
Usually watch the films alone because the plots leave you questioning instead of cliche BS.
In A24 we trust
Loved this movie- raw and real family dynamics. Richard Jenkins, oh my.
A24 do a masterpiece after a masterpiece, man. Thanks!
Does anyone know the song playing behind?
@Grant Hesseldine thanks! That was quick. I was asking more about the vocal tune where the woman is singing “Autumn in New York”. I couldn’t make out her lyrics at first but figured it out. It’s Billie Holiday!
Good sleuthing
@@petergregsoncello hey it’s the composer. Hi Peter, because of this trailer, I now know you and your music exist.

Narrative of Self is the result of a feedback loop between “Separate Self” & Cosmos. 🎈
“Don’t you think it should cost less to be alive” Ive verbatim said this multiple times since I was 14. Also shoutout to Parasite for definitely inspiring this movie, I don’t have insider info but the themes at play here are strikingly similar
I hope nobody in this uses too small a slice of 🧻
This looks like an amazing film…that will inevitably get nominated for way too few Oscars if any
I liked him even more in Minari, The Humans, and ofcourse BEEF.
A24 movies are so underrated
Erm, not really. The entire Internet slobs A24’s knob on the daily.
Is this secretly a horror movie? The reflection of the man walking gave me chills around 1:35.
I've never been a huge fan of Amy Schumer, but I've also never had the seemingly blind mob-mentality hatred the internet has for her. That said, this film seems like the type that can lift an actor up and out of the hole that people have thrown them in. Look at actors like Robert Pattinson, and Daniel Radcliffe. Known for a long time only by their biggest, most mainstream roles (Twilight and Harry Potter) but eventually becoming far more respected and recognized for their acting talent and versatility (films like The Lighthouse and Swiss Army Man). I genuinely believe that Amy CAN act but has just been handed the same roles over and over (the comic relief), perhaps this film will let her spread her wings a bit more. Or maybe I'm just being a bit too optimistic, we shall see. Looking forward to it :)
What is the name of the jazz song that plays at the beginning of this trailer..I can't find a soundtrack to the film..can't find any reference to this song on the web..can anyone help?
Billie Holiday’s version of Autumn in New York
I’m ready for this. Hits home! I love Amy Schumer!
Disappointing she’s getting so much shade.
Why not just praise someone you like rather than dissing someone you don’t?
But she's a woman! How dare she try to be funny and have a career?!
@@johnc.325 Most people dislike her because she isnt funny, she relies on sex jokes, and she is a bigger joke thief than Carlos Mencia was.
@@Inbal_Feuchtwanger I dislike her because she's stolen so many jokes from better comedians
@@Inbal_Feuchtwanger YAWN. I just Googled "Amy Schumer joke thief" and there's a handful of similarly worded milquetoast punchlines over the course of the past ten years? Amazing she lives in your head for such boring non-controversies.
@@johnc.325 The first thing that pops up on youtube is a 26 minute compilation of nothing but stolen jokes. This isnt even controversial, she is a well known joke thief and has been called out for it by a metric fuckton of comedians. Major publishers have written articles about it. Im not going to hold your hand over how to do a basic search.
A24 is my favorite studio. They are the tesla of films
Amy Schumer will rock this. I can genuinely feel it. I'm not the biggest fan of her but I just have this feeling.
I love the honesty of how humans really are; complex and hurt but seeking to love.
