First of all, I’ve been told you should never put your fingers on the bulb. Next thing dielectric grease on the connection where the bulb plugs in and finally why not replace both bulbs? You’ve already got it out and the back up lightbulb too that way, you won’t have to be getting back in there for a while just my suggestion.
I would have replaced both as well. I was thinking the same. However. The only time you need gloves is if you’re using halogen bulbs. The oil from our skin causes them to burn out immediately. But with these bulbs. Not the case.
Do you have the part number on the tail light? I think BLID LED were 16 pin, BLIS non-LED were 6 pin, and then non-led / non-blis had two connectors. One for tail stop blinker and one for reverse.
It scares the crap out yah when the plastic clips let go and the tail light almost goes flying! LOL I have so been there!
Yep! I was like great what did I break!

All great suggestions. Thanks for sharing those tips. I agree, might as well replace both while you have it apart.
Mayb not both on the same taillight but on each side so the brightness is the same

New side mirrors are just about as easy. Think that was just 2 bolts also.
@knpstrr Yep only two bolts. You are correct.
I have a 2019 F150. I took off the tail lamps and there are not 3 sockets? There is only 1 socket? What up doc.
Do you have BLIS or a LED tail light?
@ not sure what a BLIS is?

@@SmackeysGarage yes on the mirrors.
