Hey Brett if you could bet against the chiefs one more time I’d appreciate it.
Thats what I'm hoping for today
You'd think Brett would get tired of being wrong at some point...
Hahaha as a chiefs fan since birth is still understand the hatred now lol gl
I’m praying just one more time
Chiefs +980 at the beginning of the playoffs was so underpriced
56:57 One Ravens fan here, this is the only NFL content ive consumed since the loss
I am a lifelong lions fan and like 10 year ravens fan… fk this superbowl
Im glad too. Ravens fans have been pissing me off
Ngl i miss recap episodes and hearing your thoughts on what you thought would happen versus what did and why etc. would have loved your takes on ncf and afc champ games
Agreed....the format last year, where we had one recap episode and one preview/prediction episode each round of the playoffs was ideal.
@@ryanevans371i agree
Alex Smith (who played for both teams during his career) said that the Chiefs offense is a bad matchup for the Niners D. They are a zone-heavy team and Mahomes eats zone alive. The Ravens are the same, and the reason the Ravens gave up close to 20 points in the first half is because they tried to do what they always do. To their credit, they switched to man concepts in the 2nd half and had success, but the Chiefs D was too good to allow a comeback and it was too little too late.
Additionally, and Niners fans know this better than most, Steve Wilks is not inventive or creative enough to completely buck their trends and come up with a unique gameplan that will outduel Andy Reid and Mahomes. You need a guy like Todd Bowles to buck some trends and an elite D line that can get pressure with 4 consistently, like the Bucs had a few years ago in the Superbowl.
Mahomes had 9 INTs off of catchable passes during the season. 9 INTs out of 14 were on catchable passes. The Chiefs also had an 11% drop rate this year, the highest mark of any team in the past decade by two full percentage points. The past 6 weeks, Toney and Skyy Moore are now "injured" and MVS doesn't get near as many opportunities, and all of a sudden they are playing clean football.
Bottom line is, outside of the receivers inexplicably dropping passes on critical downs or the ball bouncing straight into the defenders hands, the Chiefs are going to win this game. The Niners have to hope the Chiefs screw up, and if they do and they get a few turnovers to bounce their way they have a good chance.
Don’t give the Niners too much of a chance now😏
Go 9ers!
This is an excellent Breakdown
Wow, props. As another student of the game I appreciate seeing a post with actual points about the real factors like catches on critical downs. I predicted the chiefs would knock off the ravens because of their success on critical downs, and the ravens lack of success in negative game script and critical downs.
I’ve been studying the game for 20 years and I have gathered that playoff success is not about team strength vs team strength. That’s too simple. The ravens were the better team ‘on paper’. What really matters is who executes in critical moments.
Problem is, Mahomes is a proven winner, but purdy doesn’t strike me as a guy who lets the moment get ahead of him. He’s relaxed. My head is leaning to Mahomes, because he’s proved he can win in the biggest moments. But I wouldn’t be surprised if purdy executes at the end of the game to takeover the lead.
We’re in for a great game.
Malort shots for every INT during the SuperBowl. DO IT.
A true man of culture if i have ever seen one
Dude I did this in 2019 Lol absolutely horrible night 😂
41:38 a drunk mans word is a sober mans thoughts
So you nailed the first quarter low scoring prediction. Was a close game throughout, all five quarters of it.😂
After a week being stuck at the post office my bootleg shirt finally came 😀
Yay!!!!!
Thank you, Brett for picking the Chiefs. We’re saved!!! 🎉❤😂
Thanks for a great season. I appreciate the content and the work you guys put in.
Thanks for another great season of content! Can’t wait for 10 Gems, interviews, and other content that makes the offseason bearable!
EJ throwing out the sumo reference? Hell yeah. I can get behind this. Pacheco running wild like Tobizaru, Kelce's swift movements like Ura, Deebo overpowering DBs like Takakeisho on a good day, etc.
3:42 great analysis so far from the other guy lol “get travis going and Pacheco needs to run the ball”
I like Brock Purdy, I think he’s a really good player, but only two QB’s have beat Patrick Mahomes in the postseason, Tom Brady (twice) and Joe Burrow. He’s not in that tier. The 49ers have the better team, but the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is the most valuable player in the league, and I think he gets another ring (with more to come).
Not only that but Purdy has been ass for most of the playoffs.
Sure, they came back but a-lot of it was those inexperienced teams shooting themselves in the foot constantly and allowing the 49ers back in the game.
One of the most crucial sequences was Purdy throwing what should have been a pick but it hit the defender in the helmet and Aiyuk made the catch after the ricochet.
@@pristinedecision1877 True, but every quarterback has games like that. Purdy did lead them back in it, but that’s not gonna work against Mahomes. You need to put your foot on the gas and keep it there for 60 minutes.
I dunno how informative the Baltimore game is because Baltimore seemingly forgot how to run the offense they'd been running all season.
The Ben Holladay rickhouse proof is phenomenal!
24:36 This seems like it's gonna be a recurring theme with Mike McDaniels
Interesting C or D plot to this super bowl is Robbie Goulb. The 49ers cut him for their current kicker. Last time he was cut was by the bears and his replacement had the double doink. Again it’s a very low tier thread but it’s definitely be talked about if the kicker loses the game.
Agreed. Butker is fantastic in the playoffs; Gould was unbelievable. Still the only kicker to have never missed in the playoffs over as many attempts. I can see this game coming down to a potential game-winning field goal (say 23-21 KC late in the 4th), and if the Chiefs' defense manages to hold strong at or outside the 30, Moody may not be able to hit it.
27-24 Chiefs repeat.
You do know Moody hit 2/3 field goals against the lions right? So he’s already hit 2 in a game. I get it he’s not good as Gould and hasn’t been playing his best down the stretch but let’s not act like he is missing everything.
I feel like rooting for the 49ers but betting on the Chiefs is the best way to cancel out the Kollmann curse, so may the best team win!! Thanks again for another great season!! I am so excited for all the draft content!
16:43 is there a link to that?
I've got it at 24-21, Niners but, if the Chiefs win, it's gonna be with the same score.
pretty close 25-22
Chiefs trust their kicker and the Niners don't. All the pressure is on shanny Jr. Chiefs +2
Ben Holladay bib 👀
Another thing: the entire right side of the 9ers line gives up a bunch of pressure, not just the tackle. You know who else lines up on the right side of the line most of the time other than Jones?
“Furious” George Karlaftis.
commenting this before i watch but i hope brett picks the niners (chiefs fan)
Mahomes draws RTP calls 0.57 times per 100 drop backs. This is bottom 1/3rd in the league among active QBs. Josh Allen is at 1.07 for comparison). Try to back up your statements with facts
Kelce didnt go for damn near 100 yards he went for 116.
You did NOT call Kelce the best tight end of all time 😭😭 Watch Gronk for one game and see the true best tight end ever
They're the same age, I believe. One is still doing his thing
@@marcoBolliger and one was the most dominant tight end of all time , the reason his career was cut short defenders had to aim for his knees cuz they weren’t taking him down any other way
Best receiving* tight end of all time
If Mahomes tends to get those calls that other QBs dont, then no matter how you slice it that IS preferential treatment lmao.
its objectively false to say that mahomes gets more calls his way. they have no stats to back up their claim.
yeah, he really shouldn’t be able to scramble, because every time someone tackles him it’s a flag. He could legitimately scramble every play and score every possession because the nfl gives such crazy preferential treatment to him as a player.
@@lancesilvis4085Yeah....it's crazy how they throw flags for clubbing him in the face to clothesline him, or full-arm-extension push a full 2 steps out of bounds.
So preferential....
@@ryanevans371 Or you know when he's still in bounds and gets shoulder checked
@@charlieholdsworth6086There have certainly been some here and there.
Does that get us to the point of supporting a "gets more calls than anyone else" narrative? Or even dumber, the "not allowed to tackle him without a flag, he can basically just score whenever he wants" nonsense above?
Especially immediately after a game where every penalty thrown (in both directions) was reasonably well justified?
It just occurred to me when I was watching this video but I think the niners need to win this super bowl cuz they only have one or maybe two more years in their window to win. Right now the Niners have the best LT in the league, arguably the best running back and TE in the league, the best MLB and another top linebacker and the arguably the best pass rusher in the league and the top contract DT from FA. Aiyuk is going to be on his 5th year option next year and Purdy only has two years left on his deal so even tho Purdy will prolly improve some the niners are going to lose talent cuz there are other players on rookie deals or have contracts coming up. The fact they had to go with the RT they have this year was the first marble but they had limited options on replacing the guy that went to the Broncos and as they lose guys they are going to be in similar situations. It will be possible to stave off this issue for a while with good drafting but they just arent going to have the opportunity to draft players good enough to replace the players they have now unless someone manages to fall in the draft cuz no one know how good they are. Tbh the Chiefs have managed to stay good even with Mahomes contract but there are reason they have holes on offense cuz they drafted defense mostly for the last few years and have a lot of guys on rookie contracts but they are going to lose Kelce and Jones in the near future to contract or retirement so they may be in the same boat but just have a better QB to keep the teams potential up.
I’m gonna be honest I’m not ready for Patrick Mahomes GOAT conversations
Don’t worry, despite what the media will tell you, he’s not fucking close. Regardless of if he wins Sunday, it doesn’t erase Brady beating him twice in the playoffs, including dominating head to head in the Superbowl, when he was in his 40s. Not only would Mahomes be trailing him by at least 4 rings. But you can’t just brush Brady going 2-0 against Mahomes in the playoffs.
@@dragonboy141so is Eli Manning better than Brady in the playoffs then? He’s 2-0 in superbowls against him.
@@barrymacockiner4181no but the overall resume for Eli is different than Brady obviously I do think Brady beating Mahomes twice does hold some weight but honestly that’s only gonna hold a lot of weight for Brady/Patriots fans not for the majority of people who creat and shape sports narratives.
@@nicholaskatsikas4904fair enough
@@dragonboy141Brady may be the most accomplished quarterback of all time. But anyone with eyes can see that Mahomes is special and possibly one of the greatest passers we’ve ever seen.
One can recognize Mahomes’ greatness and give reverence to Brady as well.
Lamar really blew his last chance at a super bowl
Does reid have an obvious successor? Or are the chiefs gonna be in a bad spot when he retires
Don't forget, the game's being played in Arrowhead West 😅 Chiefs by 10
Congrats 49ers
Blud chiefs kryptonite didn't have Burrow, that's the weird occurrence this year that let them in, I don't really take this one seriously
I mean they beat that "kryptonite" last year.
The real piece of the Bengals team that gives the Chiefs trouble is Lou Anarumo
@@kchandaman3012 bruh, they beaat the backup qb, cb, and multiple other peices... ik every other team does but it was BAD last year
@gabrielleite32 also they I think it was tre flowers tbh, once he left those games got much scarier
Brett please bet against the 9ers 🙏
I’m going blowout,
Chiefs 35 - 17 49ers
Chiefs win 24-13
I hope the 49ers win but KCs defense is just too good
last years super bowl should be remembered as an epic battle. but ppl only talk about how bad the filed conditions were & how terrible the refs were. the refs have not had a good game all season. hope they don't ruin yet another super bowl.
why does a multi-billion $ business choose to keep its most public employees part time and incompetent ??? i have never been less excited for a super bowl ever ...
20 or More points for niners Brock purdy 20-0 remember that
Calling kelce a TE is comedy guy is a WR a great one but still
where does he line up on the field?
Lions almost beat them. GB almost beat them. Is this game even gonna be close. A heavy zone scheme from the niners for sure. Wilks isnt gonna change the game plan. Chiefs will win by 6. Pacheco will be over 100 yards. Mahomes will have rushing yardage whenever they go man coverage. This game isnt gonna be close. Kelce for 10 catches guaranteed. And Im a chief hater lmao.
Begging for a meteor to hit the sstadium mid game
Can’t wait to see the Chiefs O-line hold on every play
Cry harder
Can't wait to hear all the reasons the 49ers lost EXCEPT FOR "they got beat".
They always hold, the practice field turf....they're sure stacking the excuses early this time.
George Kittle in the red zone? To what, block for CMC? Dude has 2 TDs in his entire playoff career.
Controversial Take: Tranquil/Gay/Bolton > Warner/Greenlaw
With how those LBs have played I don’t disagree. They are definitely playing up to their level.
Tranquill is a DAWG, I’m glad we nabbed him this year.
I think one of the biggest things the chiefs have is depth. Even when key players have gotten hurt they have a guy to step in and execute especially on defense. They have 4 corners that would be starters on plenty of teams and the rookie safety often times being their best rated defender in games this year.
That is a very controversial statement because it's so untrue it's funny. Just compare Warner's and Greenlaws stats to those three and it's not on the same level.
And I actually think Bolton is a Top 10 LB. Can't say the same for Gay and Tranquill
Commenting for the algorithm to make up for checking out on this season of football, but I am still so bummed that THIS is the matchup we got. Probably gonna be the second Super Bowl I skip altogether, after the Rams vs. Patriots snoozefest. (The Goff one, obviously.)
I get that the 49ers are and have been a stacked roster, but I just do not respect Kyle Shanahan anymore outside of the regular season. And the Chiefs defense has been legit, but their still feels the least deserving of success that it ever has. I fully think they're here just to force more Taylor Swift onto us, and you know the league office is just praying that Travis Kelce gets the chance to propose to her during the postgame celebration.
I totally dug this matchup the first time it happened, but I am just not feeling it this season for whatever reason. Still love Pat Mahomes, still respect the Niners (minus their coach), but this just feels like a letdown after all the exciting new blood we just had.
So let me get this straight...
Despite beating the 2 seed and the 1 seed on the road, you feel the Chiefs "aren't deserving", and the 25 maximum total seconds of screen time per game that the networks have devoted to Swift mean that....what? The league pushed the Chiefs through somehow? How did they do that?
If you're going to go in for a conspiracy theory, say it out loud....don't just imply it. Let's actually hear it so we can dig into it.
And by the way, that 25 seconds is the single game maximum screen time she's gotten, not the average....that means the most time she's ever gotten on-screen is less than a single play clock.
Feels like the whole "pushing Taylor" thing might be a little overblown. I can't imagine finding time to be mad about that when there's so many other things to legitimately get upset about.
these are the ramblings of a crazy person, go outside
like the way you want to see certain teams that don't deserve to be in the championship instead of the best two that got there, implies YOU are in favor of a scripted league that values feel good stories more than actual sporting and athleticism. grow up
Chris Jones is not good against the run.
That hasn't been true in any broader sense for years.
He'll still get beat on individual run plays here and there (like every player ever), and people who still have narratives from 5 years ago ringing in their ears use that to confirm he's still "bad against the run", but it's just not true as a general statement.
Chiefs trust their kicker and the Niners don't. All the pressure is on shanny Jr. Chiefs +2
