I love living in Hazel Heights. My hubbs and I opened Pizzazz Piercing and Tattoo on N. Main St. in December of 2019.
The problem with Gainesville is that there's literally a neighborhood at every corner. I'm originally from New Orleans and have never seen a place where 10 feet away could start a new neighborhood. It's not that these are unknown. It's that there's so many to keep up with. I deliver all over Gainesville, have for years, but can maybe name 10 neighborhoods by name. Also, the places you show are mostly snowbirds which isn't what makes Gainesville, Gainesville.
I'm in Hazel Heights. It's quiet. Nice.

my partner and I are moving up from south FL. We heard of the Duck Pond area, is that nice?
Duck Pond is great. It's close and somewhat outside of everything at the same time. It's fully of students and professors, mainly. But usually the students are the quiet type. It's a bit more pricey because of this. But if you're coming from South Florida, it sounds like Gainesville will fit your budget- if not be better priced.
Duck pond is a nice area, especially if you’re looking for an older home with character. Like Stormy Alice said, it’s close to just about everything.
How has it gone one year later ? We are moving also from south Florida for a job. What have you found ? How is it ?
@@frankregister7717 well we found a 10 acre farm in Williston which is about 18 miles west of Gainesville. Honesty we love it up here, no desire at all to ever go back to South Florida. It is hotter during the day but cooler at night and winter is great. All we need is a great Cuban restaurant.
@@Kingthin I’d love to talk more about it. Being two gay dads raising young black kids I’m cautious of where we are going . I’m from up there but haven’t spent time in a while . I know we will be good but we need to pick a place haha . Anywhere else you would recommend?

How about 150,000? Retirees area? I had a $300,000 house been there done it, NEED to downsize! 4 or 5 acres, maybe a cabin. Is gainseville all 400k plus homes?!
Nothing good on the South, NE or NW side of town? I feel these picks are all clumped on the NW and/or West side of town. Does Gainesville have a housing segregation problem ?
Yes, these two never, ever showcase neighborhoods where Black people live, or even near where Black people live.
