You deserve to be instead of my professor and take double the salary.
this is really helpful
man! carbohydrates are not hydrates of carbon...but earlier this waS assume to be but later on various chemical test shows that h2o exist as ketone or aldehyde group... not as hydrate
thanx a lot
شكرا جزيلا
Great video, it was very well aligned with my kaplan 2015 MCAT biochemistry book. Thank you
SIR G MEDICAL ETTA TEST K LIYE KOI HELPFUL NOTES YA KUCH OUR METOD BATHA DA ABI 2ND YAER MAIN HOOOO
Khan academy is very user friendly academy classes in youtube
did you miss a hydrogen on the fructose?
great, very clear explanation. many thanks!
Great explanation! However, you forgot to mention that 'R'/right stereochemistry notation is often referred to as 'D'. D & L come from the Greek/Latin words for dextro and levo, which mean right and left.
No, you didn't watch the video 7:15.
it has explained
Its ok but I fucking hate fischer projections. worked for fischer sucks for me
(C.H2O)n
Thank you a lot! This was actually not as hard as I thought. But I feel like now I'm on solid ground to be able to go on to the more complicated stuff with carbohydrates.
Eat carbohydrates, avoid hydrocarbons.
Thank you
Great explanation!
Thank you
I cant really concentrate because you keep stuttering
this video was all over the place. please make an outline.

I thought that a keytone is contained within the carbon skeleton where as an aldehyde is attached to the end of a carbon skeleton?
That's right
why you did not explain tetrose and pentose? you directly went to hexose. and also you did not much elaborate this topic. i am disappointed, i cannot understand well.
Why are you even syudying biochem if youre that stupid. Tetrose is a 4 carbon sugar pentose is a 5 carbon sugar. Lmao
Don't be a jerk. It is a common mistake with a lot of people. Some people get it quickly and others need to work at it. Change your attitude.
He's a jerk because he just said that he can't understand it well? This video is for every student and each student has the right to say that they didn't understand a certain portion. CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE FIRST SIR
I think Dallin was talking to Citizen.
Sir, the fructose is a Pentose ? I guss
Very helpful thank you
Thank you
Thank you.
that is awesome
So for your glyceraldehyde, would you be looking at carbon 2 to determine D or L?
Yes. Carbon 2 is the only chiral carbon (four distinct chemical groups connected to it) in glyceraldehyde.
Interesting and very easy to understand
U mean D not R
O nvm just got further
very nice
So with the Fischer projections were you assigning priority to the aldehyde on top or the alcohol on the bottom?
Cahn-ingold prelog rules
This guy has nice hand writing
And that's what you took from this?
Nice
Simple
Don't leave off the one more Carbon with Fructose as was done in the video. If you count, there are only 5, but he names it a hexose.
there is a carbon which is double bonded to the oxygen= 6 carbons no?
what app is?
i think you mixed fructose with glucose!!!!
Abeer B no he didn’t
