lyrics: Mike Curb Congregation - Burning Bridges
Friends all tried to warn me but I held my head up high
All the time to warn me but I only passed them by
They all tried to tell me but I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and left them standing there
All the burning bridges that are falling after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Joey tried to help me find a job a while ago
When I finally got it I didn't want to go
The party Mary gave for me when I just walked away
Now there's nothing left for me to say
All the burning bridges that are falling after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Years have passed and I keep thinking, what a fool I've been
I look back into the past and think of way back then
I know that I lost everything I thought that I could win
I guess I should have listened to my friends
All the burning bridges that are falling after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Burning bridges lost forevermore
my grandad used to be gunner engineer of sherman tanks dureing ww2. ill never forget the time he took me to a war wheels exhibition, boy did he light up when the sherman tore past us, he got talking to the old boy who owned the tank, n because my grandad knew so much about them and had never forgotten how to drive them, we both got a ride in her, over thirty years on an i can still see my grandads face as he ripped that sherman round the field with me at his side. inside this chunk of roaring grinding iron, memories that will never die, RIP gramps, i hope your tareing round heaven in your faithfull old sherman mate.
What a story. My grandfather in the war was in London and was in charge of loading the bombs on most of his friends bombers. When we went to our local war museum on November 11, he saw the style of plane he worked n and cried. He was a quite man and he never spoke of his time in the war, but that day he told my father and I that was the same style plane that many of his friends never returned in. It was one of the only times that I connected with him. Thank you all veterans for your service.
I hate to see Clint age. Inevitable of course! So many great actors that I grew up with ........passing on.
Brilliant song. Not for everyone but those born 60 & 70's. will enjoy it 100%
This film is proof of the spirit we once had.
Even in the movies, America kicked butt.
There have been a few great films made in the last several years of course, but you have to be careful not to insult anyone.
Give me Clint, Telly and the others any day!
yep
Exactly during the 1900's they made amasing war move's like "we were soldiers", "saving pvt Ryan", "Allies", and more don't get me wrong I loved "American sniper", "fury", and "unbroken" :)
+George Vreeland Hill becasue the ability to insult people is a mark of greatness, right.... ? :(
+Seth Ramo (tankdestroyer335)
dont forget stalingrad
this film always reminds me of my dad , i bought him on VHS for his birthday , god knows how many times i watched it with him ,still 1 of my fav films of all time
This movie filmed in EX Yugoslavia, near Istria peninsula, now Croatia...Excellent movie with excellent crew....
born in 1995 but love this movie sooo much..... they dont make em like this anymore
Jason, you are correct. They don't make them like this because they just don't have the level of actors in great numbers as they did back then. The Longest Day, and Bridge To Far and It' s a Mad, Mad, Mad World were other greats that put many stars in one picture...
Eastwood, Sutherland, Savalas, Rickles, etc. at their best. It's magical.
Can't stop pushing replay button
Best movie ever made !!!
yep without any doubt. must have seen thirty times in my life n its always like the first time i saw it., totaly awsome, blew me away forever.
this movie is a fucking gem
Legendary movie.. Great story with some REAL film stars in the movie..
WOOF WOOF...WOOOF WOOOF. THAT WAS MY GERMAN SHEPARD CALL...POSITIVE WAVES TO EVERYBODY, BABY!
I wish the they would make a sequel. A story that puts them back together later in life in a 1980's caper.
such a cool movie I watch it every time it is on tv and still laugh my head off
After almost eight years, 43 people do have negative waves! WOOF WOOF WOOF
if I was ever asked which are my all time favorite films I would have to say Kelly's heroes and the dirty dozen!
A cast that could never be repeated. Great movie and song...
All the burnin bridges that have fallen after me,
All the lonely feelins and the burnin memories,
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door,
Burnin bridges lost forever more.
BEST MOVIE EVER!
i remember walking to see this movie back when i was a teenage, and i always loved this song
This film, war, comedy one of the best ensemble casts put together. Its a brilliant unique movie. Classic!
So many positive waves
Nice song!!!! And the movie!!! WOWWWW!!!! Saballa, Eastwood, Sutherland... all WONDERFULL!!!!!! I don't have words
probably one of my most watched films ever, love it to bits just like this track totaly feel good absolutley fantastic.
This movie and Where Eagles Dare are the best
After coming out of Hospital Corpsman school in 1970 and before leaving for Vietnam I saw this movie. The song has it right.

My favourite war film!!!!!
Frank Norton Legend legend
Man I miss the 70's !!!!!
great film, great video clips, great song, great tune, great actors! what more can a woman say?
This MOVIE...this THEME SONG....you would not believe the memories they hold.....I was in
in love with the ex-wife of one of the top people of this movie. She loved me, too. Sickness took her from me. I guess I will ALWAYS love "Joan." We were together until 1985....and my bridges are STILL burning for her. It was 15 years before I could watch this movie again. Now........just "negative waves."
This is my favorite movie of all time.
The scene where Oddball's tanks attack the railyard is an excellent example of what the US Army intended the M4 Sherman to do. It was never meant to slug it out with other AFVs. That was the M10 and M36 were intended to do.
The most accurate portrayal of Sherman's ever.
Stan McKie considering they use actual Shermans for it, yeah.
That;s because they were actual Shermans used by the Yugolav army at the time. The Tigers were T-34s very accurately modified by technicians in the Yugoslave military for the movie
The only war movie that one can watch and still laugh and have a sense of comedy while still seeing the true disdaining aspects of war to some degree. For the most part there is a whole lot to appreciate about this movie be it from the all-star cast to the soundtrack! My most favorite element in this film are the three Tiger Tanks!! What a marvelous ending too!!! Everybody was all smiles even the Kraut of whom would have his share too!!! A simply amazing cinema masterpiece!
i seen this movie when it first came out and it still ranks as one of the top classic movies ever made
Ahhh I remember this when I was a kid,it was very very popular in England.Great film! you don't get stars involved in films like this anymore.
Crikey this was a brilliant movie and the sound track was fantastic and well suited.
Great song and awesome harmonies!!!!!
An awesome soundtrack for a brilliant war movie.
Those three Tiger Tanks down in that square look like the're getting ready for some heavy duty action
Woof...Woof...Woof...Love this song, love the film, love the actors, love it! Wooof...Wooooof...Woooooof ...second dog impression. let's just pick up a bridge anywhere.
Don't hit me with negative waves so early in the morning. Think that bridge will be there and it'll be there.
Best WW2 movie ever.
Love this theme song... just watched the movie for the first time... my kinda flick. And, if you live a reckless life, this ones for you, "KELLY'S HEREOS!"
the cut to Good the Bad and Ugly sound track was killer
Have a little faith baby...always the negative vibes. What a great movie. I liked Clints early non western movies. Where eagles dare, Kellys Heros... just great movies.
One of the best WW2 movies
Fantastic film with great actors too ,love the line ( "my hair is still in curlers") always makes me laugh.
GREAT FILM MUSIC AND ODDBALL EVEN BETTER
one of my favorite films
+petrallen mine, too!
I agree
I saw this movie when it was released........ This is why today I'm so infatuated with Tiger tanks. When I saw the awesome destructive power of that tank .... I was sold !! I've visited the Aberdeen proving grounds (tank museum) and saw the real Tiger up close and man ... it was a monster.
True . the Tiger was a kick--s tank
Dedicated to the poor chicken that got squashed by that tank.
and i think it's the best movie ever since i am 6
love it, the song really get's to me because my nephew is in the marines and he fought in the war in Iraq.and was there when the self bombings were going on. so the song means a lot to me
One of the BEST WAR MOVIES !!!.... Thanks !
Great cast, great movie, they don't make them like this anymore.
great movie greats actors one of my favorite classic movie , Funny , intelligent and great message of the stupidity of the war ... too bad we dont movies like this
Amazing ... they would just about be my 2 all-time favorites as well ! ... The Magnificent Seven is right up there too, as well as ( for something completely different ) "This Is Spinal Tap" ... Wayne
Great movie and great song.
Sensational movie !!!... Thanks a lot for remember !.....
still a good movie after all these years
one of the best movies ever.
One of the best of all time!
Great song, great movie. What a cast!
Lesson to learned, that has been lost in time. burning a bridge means to distroy a relationship with people, inwhich you cannot go back across. The moral of the story; "Be carefull of the relationships you sever" once broken one cannot repair the dammage.
can't resist watching this movie..you win a cookie
I can't get that song out of my head!
My fav movie ever
Love this movie and song
Great story and great movie! Plus, Uncle Leo is in this film!!

The Best War movie EVER!!!
this is an awsome song!
every time my friend and i pull out of the dock in my sailing dingy to go fishing in the bay we play this full blast.
TAKE IT EASY KID, WE AINT IN THE MIDDLE OF CENTRAL PARK ^__^ i have this film on bluray and dvd and my original vhs tape, it is still my favorite film. thank u sooo much for the soundtrack friend ^_____^
i remember this movie :) one off the best music tema
Lalo Schifrin wrote "Burning Bridges" the title song for Kellys heros and many other movies. Mike Curb wrote the lyrics. Mike Curb congregation performed the song. Lalo Schifrin wrote the theme songs to Mission Impossible, Mannix , Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and a number of Clint Eastwood movies. Hes written so many scores I cant even begin to remember them all. He is that good. No one has even come close to his acheivements in music for film yet hardly anyone knows this powerhouses name.
My hubby's favorite song . . . . . .
"Crazy! I mean like so many positive waves maybe we can't lose! You're on! "
best war film ever and i love this song
And I can see that to a degree, but what I have trouble matching up is that the bridges being burned in the song are all personal, such as the friend who found the "speaker" a job but then the speaker didn't go or the friend who married a girl when the speaker just walked away- and the "speaker" regrets them. In the movie, they're blowing up / burning physical bridges and they succeed in the end. The aspect of regret in the song does not come out in the movie.
