I have never understood the concept of a tight stop-loss without even grasping the relationship of an asset class' ADR/ATR, liquidity and market structure but I guess this has been preached by mainstream FX salesmen 'gurus', I had my 10 yr old son asked me once: 'doesn't the market need room to breath?'. Anyway, another excellent and outstanding video Rayner...I'm pretty sure that bucket shops are not beginning to like you, and I'm already a big fan of your teaching style--thank you.
thanks man for sharing this ! about placing a stop loss above or below support and resistance I always knew market makers and big banks will be hunting down those Areas for liquidity so I would either trade without stop loss while watching what's happening as I approach the zone or place it far away from the majority to give the trade it's time to get back in the desired direction...

Can you please elaborate at approximate what percent below or above should be the stoploss ( % below support/ % above resistance). For eg should it be 3% below or above support/resistance. Rayner, I have not yet seen any videos on UA-cam about Entry Types. Do you set your buy entry and SL at a previous support so when price reverses down it hits, you are in the trade or market buy stop entry just above the support area to make sure that the price has made a move up.
Hi Rayner, Instead of a fixed stop, where you always have to determine where you should set it and when to adjust it, can't we just use the trailing stop loss? What are the advantages to using one vs the other? Thank you sir!
If he doesn't reply I will help you. As learned in the video about the stop loss of entering a trade. So let's say you traded and your trade is now in profit and you want to continue holding without risking profit you just earned. You then trail your stop loss. Since the market is sequential, it always pulls back and continues. You will want to Trail your stop loss below support of a pullback. Sometimes use 50MA then when market pulled back and formed support touching the MA and up rising, you will want to trail your SL below that Support. Vice Versa when SOLD, then it will be Above resistance I will be glad if you get it.
Hey @tradingwithrayner, I was having a doubt on this video at time 10:57 there was a build up which broke out but at 13:26 there was a reversal when i cut the chart and look before the decline it would look like a buildup near the resistance can you help me how to identify the correct one.

The "powermove" reversal tends to not prove as common with bitcoin. Every bull trend it has experienced is pretty much massive pushes up followed by distribution followed by more massive pushes followed by more distribtution. Btc rarely hits the .50 fib level during a bull correction.

How will you maintain ur target risk reward ratio if u will put ur stop loss away from the support or lets just say market structure? Of course u will enter near support what if ur wrong? Ur cutloss will be bigger than the accepted risk?
