Fantastic vlog Robert .love the night time time lapse .some great photo opportunities loving the new sticker with the new truck on it we'll have to buy another one to replace the old one we have our van
Thank you so much sir! I watched every minute of it and enjoyed it thoroughly. Also I ordered your CD album and saw that you shipped it, thank you! Can't wait to hear it everyday on my way to work and back!
Thank you for the new video Robert. As usual, you did a wonderful job. We always feel like you take us along with you in your videos. Keep up the fantastic work my friend.
Robert, leaving Lucerne Valley if you intersected with Bear Valley Rd. (which I live 1 mile from) That is called Dead mans point and was used in many old movies.

You only eat where a bunch of people are crowding the place? Remember, this is an adventure. You could have been window dressing to attract the next traveler! We love your adventures!
Great video! Just purchased my first TT can’t wait to get out and see the states. We are in upstate N.Y if you ever need a place to stop we have a large camp you can use. Thanks for the videos.
Wow you drove right by one of the best Resturants out there in Ludlow California. Of course its been a few yrs since I've been there but they had this Breakfast Ham that you would walk a mile on your knees in a sandstorm. Nice Video.
We traveled a section of Route 66 in New Mexico & we look forward to hitting others. After watching this we are putting this one the list. I love abandoned buildings. Lou💚
Noticed many freight trains heading west but never an Amtrak siting. I know they travel that way but doubt if it’s every day. Enjoying following your trip west.
So timely as I was just in Gallup, New Mexico which got me investigating Route 66. . .saw a story on Roy’s and whalah! You take me there👍 love your vids
Another great video! I discovered you by accident from one of your Amazon Prime videos and I am hooked, man! lol I also really appreciate your music as I, too, am a musician. Tire tip for you, if it helps. The tire valve stems often times will just loosen up inside and often just need a few turns of the inside valve stem with a valve stem tool. Pick yourself up one at Walmart. They are super cheap and can save you many headaches. I have a couple of tires whose valve stems need a little tightening every so often and it works like a charm. BTW, I really enjoyed your trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. I have visited there many times since I grew up about 50 minutes East of Sandusky. I now live right near Lake Erie but it stays too cold up here for too long during the year. I think Miami, Fl is by far a better choice. Take care, Robert, and happy travels!
Hey Robert, the reason California has inspection stations to make sure we don’t get exotic pests that could devastate our agricultural industry. When people bring in fruit/vege/plants/animals they could bring in harmful pests that would force farmers to spray more to save their crops or disease that could make animals sick, etc. Don’t tell people that ca wants to take your lemons for the hell of it. Prevention is the safest form of pest control. Thanks for cooperating.
The last time I was in Ca. the inspection guy asked if I had anything, I said GLUTEN! LOL I got inspected, bummer. :/ I've been to Roy's a few times. Last time I came across a turfed up area in the sand & thought OMG some one wrecked. They just wrapped up filming a movie called BENEATH THE DARKNESS. A stunt car was there & had an accident for the film. Also that's where they filmed THE HITCHER with Rutger Howard. Calico really is a lot of fun. I always like your vids. Thanks for sharing, drive safe. :)
I remember the 'Lemon Confiscation Center' well. Wonder if they noticed your Florida plates as you drove off ....lol. Roy's appeared like a rather extensive estsblishment. Amazing how desolate Route 66 is now. Hard to believe it once was a bustling highway. So many Mom & Pop places went down the dumper. 😢 🌵
Great video Robert..I'll have to actually drive on Rte 66 next time I'm down there. As for the Joshua Trees..they are all over..didn't know that's what they were till I got to Joshua Tree..lol. The rocks are the interesting thing in my opinion in Joshua Tree..I spent a night at Jumbo Rocks CG and hiked all over. The drive up to the spot where you can actually see the Salton Sea is pretty cool too.
Word on the street is RVers are now welcome to boondock overnight at Roy's. Heading back to Las Vegas from Joshua Tree and Havasu last week, the Ag Inspector asked "Where are you coming from?" I answered "We are headed to Las Vegas." and he just let us through.
Your videos make me miss being on the road it's been almost since 2 years since my last road trip. This year tho I'm heading out, so thank you for this💖😊
Nice video. Like that retro stuff on Rt 66. Too bad so much is abandoned and in disarray. Sry, about the flat. You were prepared as always. Safe travels. 😊👍
Doesn't Walmart repair tires or at least could replace that defective valve ? Love the landscape on this trip, makes you feel real small..... I've experienced it but have to get my wife out on the road once the boarders open up between Canada and the US
the checkpoints are there to protect California crops which BTW makes up dominant market share in over 66 different food crops - so yeah it's important for the U.S food supply in general
Interesting that in this ''peace of folk art'' there is the logo of my favourite soccer club from Germany, Borussia Dortmund. What a great surprise! I never expected to see the logo of borussia dortmund in the middle of the Californian desert! :-D There must have been some germans around!
If you drive from Nevada to California they seem to not mind putting a security checkpoint there. Although I drove from California exiting Edwards AFB.
When I drove from Las Vegas to California there was no checkpoint there either. I wonder why, because I assume there's a lot of people entering California there.
I wonder if it was a good decision to close this motel in Amboy. I mean it's still in good shape and I assume that there are a lot of people who want to explore Route 66 and who would like to stay there.
hey robert at 23.26 minutes on video there is a white cone shape thing out in the desert , any idea what that is? we have one hear in ohio near were i live on i-75 near findlay, if you know thanks for the info if not no big deal
marc dich Actually they are VOR. Very high frequency Ommi Directional Range. GPS have replaced them for most navigating for Aircraft. In their heyday, there were over 3000 of them. Now less than a thousand. Take care, Bill
My dream is the Mojave. Leave Route 66 alone, rebuild, let it thrive again with its funky shop and stops; motels, restaurants, etc. Those who choose the fast lane, go ahead, but step off when it comes to the old route. If I were American, I would fight like hell for this landmark to never become extinct.
California Route 66 is very sad to me... Newberry Springs is used alot for Hollywood movies. Watch old Huell Howser’s videos about the area. Calico is cute for the kids! Peggy Sue’s is close by. Most of the area is dumpy-desert.
do you trust completely in the double sided adhesive attachment to use your camera on roof? or you bolt it in permanently? it will be very useful if you show how you did it. Thanks.
California is America's bread basket. There are a lot of bad assed no-seeums out there (like a certain kind of fruit fly) that can wreak havoc on the crops, thereby the food supply and the economy nationwide if allowed in. Trouble could come from anywhere---Mexico , or Arizona, or Florida. Sometimes its better to be vigilant than being nicey-at-the-border by a chamber of commerce or something welcoming committee. A state like say Nevada probably doesn't have a significant agriculture impact so they can wave everybody in. Pests from New Mexico can be just as deadly in CA as pests from Cambodia. To some drivers it may be a pain-in-the-ass, but I can understand what the state is trying to do. It should be noted if you have a lot of mud on your tires or car coming from Mexico you may have to wash it there at the crossing before proceeding. Most of the time though you just blow through. They took some of my grapes once. I bought them at a Safeway in Kingman, AZ but the bag said the fruit came from Chile. They let me keep my peaches however,----I don't know where they came from.
You REALLY need a better microphone for your camera and a wind resistor. It's so hard to hear you and the wind is distracting. Nomadic Fanatic has a really good one. I would check into the one that he has. Love your vids!
Just saying - You often are in such a hurry therefore foregoing many an enjoyable site to visit. Since you’re already quite a distance from Miami why not just relax & enjoy the little oddities along the off beaten path as chances are you not apt to pass this way again. Just a thought...🌻

I had an all night "UFO" experience that started on Kelbaker road a few miles past Kelso and took place mostly on and over the big dry lake there.

It was funny when you were asked where you were coming from! Obviously on I-40 that would have been Arizona!!
The inspection station doesn't even look at the license plate. Yeah, obviously you're coming from Arizona, duh !

Protect California crops from what Florida crops? How does that make sense? I though we were all the same country with the same FDA, etc
