In my previous build video, I restored the Ancient City to Its former glory without all of the destruction and Sculk. It was very fun and well received by you guys. I'm doing it again, but with a twist! We're building the Ancient City on the surface instead of the deepdark.

For some lore the ancient city once was a capital of a empire. It started when a group of people founders a religion and people came and the small town they we're in expanded into a huge kingdom and there was a evil king so the people under the rule of this king had a rebellion they used guerilla warfare. A civil war happen and many groups fought for control. But one group rose to power called the river kingdom they took over more land till they reached the capital. The war coated millions of lives and pandas. The river kingdom needed a new name so they came up with the empire of kafikan. The golden age came the empire established trade and built roads they discovered new places and empires. They found new creatures like elephants they used them for building and war. But then the great war happen all of the empires and kingdoms fought. Trading had come to a hold many were sent to war and never came back. The empire was crippled by the war and they were leaderless but after many years of struggling they got back on there feat. All seemed well until a group of foreign people came and built a strange thing that lead to another world. The beast from this world came out and killed everyone in one last ditch effort the empire was sunken into the ground no one survived.
11:41 the panda reaching in awe towards the completed city pretty much surmises my vibe having watched the completed project. Absolute mad lad builder right here
the legend appears and put his fresh snevess in this chat , what a legend !
Next build will include a sneve in it somehwere
Chad
@@unsortedguy cool video! Keep up the good work
ahh sir sneve
The reason why we know it’s a portal is because in the the game files the smaller version of it is called small portal statue. Btw great build.
My Headcanon on the way the ancient city ended up in the deep dark is that when the skulk came through the portal, *CONVENIENTLY* a massive sinkhole occurred swallowing up the entire city and plunging it into the darkness, thus being able to contain the skulk & halting its spread before it could become a global threat.
conveniently, english has a dictionary!

I agree with the thought of Skulk coming from another dimension. I think that an ancient race of builders built this city underground to escape a catastrophe on the surface, perhaps the Wither, and they sought to flee to another world. When the portal only briefly opened, the skulk and warden came through, forcing them to abandoned their city and flee again, this time to the End.
This theory is not mine, but is one I am very sold on.
That house structure that you said you didn't know what it was, I restored as a blacksmith's home, with the bottomed floor having the smithing equipment and the second floor being the living space. I also encased it in glass, because who knows how much glass was destroyed with the city sitting uninhabited for so long?
PS: It looks great!
Plus we don't know if skulk destroys glass when it infects the block underneath. (From skulk vein to skulking block)
@@brianaschmidt910 I did notice recently while restoring my city that skulk vein kills grass blocks if it's touching it. Doesn't even have to be on it
Can you please build UG City next? PLEASE
xD
Purge part 2 with more people? PLEASE
you wont be allowed to treepass there sean
Y dont u?
Sup sean
I wish they would more structures like this on the surface. It would make the game that much more enjoyable in my opinion
Now imagine, with a future update years later the portal/statue in the middle leads to a new dimension filled with "not corrupted" skulk blocks and lots of Redstone structures and whatnot
a new dimension will most likely come out in the 1.21 update, because first they have to revamp the nether and the end.
the Ancient city has aalways given me aztek vibes, so seeing it built in a jungle like this was absoluletly amazing!
The ancient city, located around a mountain range that provided protection, was ruled by a benevolent king. He allowed strangers from an outside village from far away to build a portal that they believed would teleport them to a demension that they could explore and discover wondrous things. Little did they know that the dimension unleashed the skulk and a dangerous being called "The Warden" into their world. They thought that by destroying the portal, The Warden would be destroyed. But it only banished the central hub of their city underground. The ones who escaped the city's fate, abandoned the mountain range and splintered off into many smaller villages in different biomes all around the minecraft realm.
Really awesome build! I want to know more about that panda lore though…
0.o
They came from the province of "Pandamonium"
😂
Love you for using Behold a Pale Horse (Reconciled) from Halo 3 for the reveal. Such an epic piece.
Absolutely stunning renovation, Kim. Going to be rewatching this one quite a few times to draw some inspiration for a few different builds. Thanks for the excellent work.
imagine just traveling in your survival world trying to find a village and you just see a ancient city above ground
The reveal at the end with the sound effects gave me chills
I really dig the Mayan-esque inspiration in your design! Well done my dude.
From some videos i"ve watched actually, this is the one i prefer because you build it as an archeologist point of view, not just a creative thing, you brighten the stone as it could be from the past but not changing anything from what a buid could be.
This looks AWESOME at first I thought: meh I don’t really like the mud bricks with the stone but then it turned out AMAZING
Loving the color palette here--lots of gray stones, but with the warm accents of the mud bricks and the wood and the greenery.
I know I'm a bit late on the train, but here is my theory about the Ancient City.
When it was first announced, I had this headcanon, that the Minecraft surface world was unhabitable in ancient times. Probably with a dark sky so mobs could spawn every time. The ruined Nether portals and the Fallen Kingdom series of CaptainSparklez also gave me the idea, that there possible was a HUGE piglin vs humans war in the overworld, that probably left the surface in ruins.
So the humans fled into the underground and build the Ancient Cities. Instead iron golems, they had wardens, that protected them from the cave mobs. Since there are many mobs in caves, the wardens killed lots of them and accumulated a large amount of energy from the XP.
People started experiencing with portals. They knew the Nether existed and searched for a new dimension, where they could possibly start a new life outside the underground. I don't know why they choose to build the portal in the middle of their city. Maybe for easy access. And the first and only dimension they manage to find, was the sculk dimension. The second they managed to open the portal, all the XP from the killed mobs exploded into sculk, causing it to spread over the city and through the caves. The wardens got corrupted, destroying everything in their path and causing the downfall of the Ancient Cities.
Surviving Humans fled their home, never looking back. They reached the surface and saw, it had become a peaceful place, where they could restart over under the sunlight.
Awesome build UG! The blocks you used were perfect.
I was WAITING FOR THISSS
youve outdone yourself yet again kimmmm ✨ great build
I'm actually in love with the whole Maya aesthetic you chose, it looks SO GOOD!!!
my personal idea for the lore of the ancient cities, is that the reason the portals existed was not to go to another dimension, but to travel between cities, it would explain why every city has a portal. but i think that there was an experiment done, perhaps trying to create a new dimension or maybe trying to travel to a new dimension, but it went wrong and the skulk corrupted the city, then traveled through the portal to the other cities, thus destroying them all, from there it feeds into the normal minecraft theory about how the strongholds were made and the enderman, and the end cities, so on and so forth.
Pls send a world download for this! This is way too stunning. Honestly you should send this to the marketplace
in the last video, I commented that the portal looked like a warden's head. to clarify I meant that it was a portal, just shaped like a Warden's head
Damn amazing! I could only fathom how to be this creative a builder!
Love the lore you build into these builds!
Man all of your builds are just insane like fr. Btw which shaders and resource packs do you use? It really enhances the video alot.
I love this, I hope to make large structures like this some day - so far I have only made small sporadic villages for myself
The general aesthetic of this city reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus. I hope that someday someone will try and build Dormin's temple, it would be awesome.
I loved your use of stones! Very nicely done, Kim. Looking forward to the next one.
I've just found the city a week ago, and i just watched this today, and heard him say the spa was rare, so i went looking for it in my city, and I found it!
This seems to be a Greek/Mayan themed city.
All in all, shockingly beautiful and adore it. Mad respect.
this Ancient City looks really amazing Kim
Bravo Man
Keep Up on your Work Kim
this was amazing!
one of my theories is that the ancient builders all over the world faced a sickness/plague that turned them undead so they escaped to another realm but one person from each city had to stay behind as a sacrifice to disable the portal so no mobs can get through to the other side hence the warden the one person who stayed behind attacking anything that lives. then after sometime there was a massive sinkhole or the minecraft poles shifted or tectonic plates shifted causing the city to collapse underground. where anything sculk is and consumed the last person alive. Sculk is the alive version of soul sand.
This turned out amazing!!
Using Halo music for the grand reveal. Perfection. 👌🏼
5:00 I 100% agree that it’s a portal but I don’t think that the sculk is there because of it but rather the other way around.
Some deep dark biomes that are so small that they don’t have ancient cities. so to me it seems like they made cities in a few deep dark biomes but then something happened involving the portal, a bunch of people died, and a bunch of sculk spread throughout the caverns that housed the ancient cities
This looks simply amazing! I love the vibes of it :)
This is amazing! I watched your other video last week and started to fix up an ancient city.
Mine does have a spa and a mine going through it which I believe both are rare. Its a small mine so im getting rid of it though.
Restoring this ancient city is taking agesssss but im enjoying it. Im trying to get the buildings as close to what they were as I can.
They should add "Ancient Ruins" to Jungle biomes! They could be similar to ancient cities but above ground and maybe add unique enemy types that dwell there.
im crying i love this build so much. its glorious!!!
Amazing vid; funny, well edited, spectacular builds and your plugs weren't shameful in the slightest creatively segued.
My theory of how the ancient city came to be is that the over world civilization was at war with the nether and they had to hide underground to escape conflict, but somehow a wither found them and they built a portal as a last ditch effort to escape. What they didn’t know was that the warden was on the other side. The warden came through and defeated the wither after hearing it. The citizens of the deep dark cities worshiped the warden as some kind of deity mistaking its actions as a form of kindness and reshaped the portal to look like the warden. The warden left trails of sculk behind when it went back through the portal and it grew into a sculk shreiker resummoning the warden and reeking havoc on the city leading to the civilizations collapse.
The foley sounds at the end really make the showcase, good job!🎉
I have a theory for the ancient city: the people who built it managed to create a portal to the skulk dimension and used skulk for their own purposes.
However in the labs underneath the portal, the skulk went out of control, spreading and summoning wardens!
This is the first video I've ever seen from you. Well done, you have a wild talent an an amazing personality with a good sense of humor. Cheers mate
11:01 i love the Halo music :D
omg i love this and you had my brain going off on some kinda mythology
like that they took a vow of silence in order to be like the peace full warden
and this influenced the occupation they did
focusing on quiet time
reading / gardening / and being one with
nature
they also had this thing where when someone spoke they where shuned and most people would refer to them as "shouted"
and if you where banished that was called "being yelled out"
but all of this was written never spoken less you be yelled out into the loud world
The sound ambiance was amazing work
This guy is like a perfect mix of hacker and God
I agree with you on the middle statue, just look at the disc "otherside" (of the portal)
great build!
Loved the Halo music at the end. :)
Entrance Walls.... Gates, those are gates.
Anyhow, not much into Minecraft, but this ancient city intrigues me. And I like What-If-Scenarious. So, you got me there.
Looks incredible, great work… keep it up
got chills from this, absolutely amazing
So good man.
Keep it up.
this should be added in minecraft fr, very nice work! :)
This turned out beautifully! :)
That ancient city is beautiful
*Me enjoying a minecraft video*
11:00
*Me holding onto my couch for dear life trying not to get blown away lol*
Perfect song choice 👌
This is actually really cool. This makes me think that it would be super cool if the over world had naturally spawning "cities" for villagers. Or mega villages. Idk, some large civilization
Liked your video of restoring it. I wanted to try as well but on survival I tried and failed
So now I'm clearing it all out lol😅 so much cobbled deepslate
Damn. This is an epic project, good job!!
your videos are amazing and I really enjoyed your Jurassic park video I love Jurassic park
What would other structures look like in other dimensions I'm liking this idea
5:30
Check out game theory if you want to hear the origin story of the ancient builders who originally built the city.
I wish my computer could handle these downloads!!!! This is soooooo cool
I love the what if concept ! but now that you went into that path, you have to make the 2 other possibilities which are what if the ancient city was made in the nether and what if it was built in the end !
Absolutely amazing build... wow
Wow, this is so beautiful.. i want to live some days in this city, this should be cool
I don't feel comfortable knowing how well that bit of Halo Music fit there at the end
bless this guy! he put a skip chapter to the sponsor!

Wow, this is some amazing work!
wow you did it so 👏😍good.
The city showcase was awesome 😍😍
the result is soo beautiful!!
Hey great Build, keep up the great work.
I was wondering what shaders and settings/mods you are using to create this look?
I really like those aesthetics
Wow dude, you did a lot of hard work!
Absolutely stunning, this is so well done, amazing work, 10/10. ♥
MY GUY! i watched and remodeled my own ancient city underneath because of your prev video but always wanted it to be above ground. downloaded you world and converted it onto my realm THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! So good i deleted my other realm with it underneath
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Wow, it looks so Cool :O
Niiiiiice music choice for the showcase
I think their should be a server with all your buildings how fun it would be to enter this city and tough also as their will be no indication u could add quest relating the city as centre and every village pointing or guiding u towards it like a villager chief wanting some tropical fish for his new dish for king of this city and to do it u would have to go to ocean and adding sub quest like that and u can also purchase item like teleportation scroll and any other scroll like boost strength instead of potion to get some income and once in city u could travel to other villages and get a map of 8 large villages near some epic transformed structure
This is absolutely stunning
It is that seriously you send yourself doing those constructions brother, I love how you work seriously :D
Nice work my man
Wow it looks rlly good :0
Would be pretty cool if they added a smaller version and the portal connected to the ancient cities underground. It would be a quick way to travel and would be sick.
You nail it man amazing work
Thank you =)
I love the fact that the ancient city like you made it looks like an old Mayan city
The warden is a trapped and transformed human and he wants you to help him, but if you don't listen he will destroy you!
Thats is marvelous
this is so freaking cool! it should be like the rarest thing in the game
