I think the best part of your videos is that you use the sound of frying, cutting etc. It just makes it more authentic. And you guys are full fledged Bengalis ❤ Congratulations and keep it going❤
Love your videos and I have been making the dishes. I am a punjabi who grew up in Bengal and love Bengali dishes and now I make them for my wife and friends. Today is the 3rd time I made Palok shak-er ghonto, in last 1 month or so, since I have started watching your cooking.
Tried this recipe for our Sunday lunch, n it was a Delish... We shared with our neighbors and th demand is such that next Sunday we shall make it in double th quantity. Your recipes are simple and showed so well.. Thanks once again 🌷
After watching this detailed recipe of this traditional dish, have made this more than 5 times now. Hubby just loved it and the fact that I could also cook such elaborate traditional dishes with ease and without losing my mind in just one hour, surprised my mom too. Thank you guys! ❤️👍
This is exactly the way my mother used to make her " saaker ghonto" and I am grateful to see this video. I will now not have to feel sad when I am in doubt - I will simply refer to this video and get the same taste as what Ma could conjure up! Thank you so much!!
Dear Insia & Saptarshi I accidentally found your you tube channel, well I am not that good on net surfing and all.But your way of presenting things maintaining the minute detail including an excellent videography, overall the finesse instantly grabbed my attention. I can see the very core of your production-its a pure passion.I'm telling you very soon people around the globe are going to follow your channel because of your professional way of presenting things.Good Luck
I’m a bong in every ways, never really appreciated authentic Bengali food except a few (non vegetarian dishes) until I moved out of home and started missing home food ( MA er hath er ranna). And thats when, all the cravings and missing started happening. And also that’s when calling up Ma every Sunday to learn a recipe to satisfy a bong tummy started happening. And then came YOU guys with this wonderful and delicious looking recipes. And I didn’t have to bother MA and just look at your recipes and just tell MA what I have cooked. Now the Mallu husband and I enjoy some bong delicacies often( atleast once in a month). Thanks to you guys. You guys are amazing. Never thought cooking food ( especially our very own bong food) could be so much fun. Thanks to you guys from the bottom of my heart. Hope to see more from you. Thanks once again
I tried this recipe today. It turned out amazing. All winter vegetables in one go. Don't think there's a better mixed veg than this to include in diet. Thanks a ton for sharing !
Hello, I tried this recipe and it came out really well! Growing up, my family was great friends with a Bengali family and I would wait eagerly to go to their home just to eat the food that "Das Aunty" made. It is really great to finally be able to make some of the dishes that she made thanks to your lovely channel. I obviously did not have dal'er bori and substituted it with "onion karudams" from my MIL's place. I know there a lot of passionate cooks in the comments section who are voicing their opinion but I just wanted to let you know that even with all the little tweaks (less oil, less sugar and karudams) the ghonto was unique and delicious. Thank you!
This used to be winter special during my childhood days...those days we were fond of any other cuisine than Bengali...now I want to recreate my childhood dishes and relish... watching your video give me that pleasure...I am not sure if I will cook this but I am surely enjoying watching this video...
Hi...I prepared the same, followed your style only I used onion and Paanch foron instead of black jeera, but the taste was awesome...Thanks guys...need more authentic bengali recipes
I downloaded all your vegetarian dishes (non onion and garlic)cause gonna cook all of them as bhog to Maa Kali during Kali Puja may the goddess bless this channel and you see new heights!
Rarely seen such a lovely and holistic approach to making a video on any cuisine. Your cooking ingredients, process of chopping, frying and serving food with the captions, natural sound of cooking, and the background music makes it unique. Not to forget the descriptions you write later,of the recipes... which add more flavour to your ghontos and other torkaris. Kudos. Carry on with more fantastic productions of Bengali cuisine.
I sometimes watch your videos just to de-stress, but each of your recipes has me salivating & wanting to go into the kitchen RIGHT NOW to have this deliciousness 😊 Everything I've tried so far has been yum. Thank you!! 😘

It always takes me ages to dry out the water from palak. The steaming first method is gonna really help. Also, us north indians only know either paneer or in tougher times, aloo in palak. I think adding all these other vegetables is brilliant. Also, when a recipe asks for so many vegetables, what I read between the lines is basically 'add whatever is in the Fridge'. Screw 'authentic'. Thanks. Great job as always.
This is one Bong Eats recipe that I make over and over again here in Germany during springs. I am always in awe how simple this one is to make yet so delicious.with a limited no of Vegetables available here, Bong Eats your recipes make life so much easier. Thanks

Hello There! I looked up you guys once again for cooking shaag. And it brought back so many old childhood memories while watching this. There is always something to learn. Living in Karnataka, when I wanted to learn or teach myself Bengali cooking, the problem was not the recipe but the tips you learn when you cook ‘with’ someone. I am thankful to both of you for giving me the confidence and the in-depth knowledge of Bengal cooking. I’ve borrowed, learnt many tips including the use of utensils, from your videos and online site. Besides all of this, what is heartwarming is the simplicity and sophistication of the videos. It focuses on the process of cooking. It’s understood a lot of effort goes into it creating these videos so that others can benefit and enjoy cooking and eating Bengali food. Please carry on the passion and tradition, and may nothing else come in the way other than the hunger for more-food! from a food lover Bengali.
I’ve been thinking about cooking this since I saw it .. finally made it yesterday and it turned out to be so good. Really loved the flavour of kalo jeere and mustard oil flavour in it .. this is not something we’d usually have in Bangladesh! Thanks a bunch for this recipe!
I love all your recipes .. being a South Indian and a foodie .. I am all out to explore every Indian food and ur videos are such a delight to watch! I look forward to them all the time .. this particular recipe with these veggies is made in every Indian household especially in winters in there own way and this Bong take on it absolutely delicious .. i made it today and it came out really well .. thanks and keep the videos coming :)
That's amazing. Yes, we have such a mindboggling range of recipes in our country, it would be impossible for anyone to try them all in a single lifetime.

I made this for dinner tonight with the plain masoor dal and rice! I didn't have palak, so substituted it with Kale. I love incorporating lots of different veggies as much as I do my meat, so thank you for all these different ways of making veggies beyond an "onion tomato gravy" 😇 Big fan of everything your channel does 🙃

Thank you. We have such a vast array of non-vegetarian food that you will be spoilt for choice. Hope you sample some great dishes while you are here :-)
I tried it today and the dish turned out to be amazing...you don't even need daal with it. So simple yet so full of flavours. Hot rice and Ghonto... so fulfilling 😀👍 Three cheers to you BongEats❤️
I made this and it was yummy... Except for Mulo, I added potol as my husband not a big fan of Mulo. Thank you @bongeats you are helping me in cooking all traditional Bangla Ranna 😊😊😘😘
It's been more than a year that I went home. Missed poila boisakh, pujo and pretty much all festivities. Your channel is the only solace I find other than the occasional trips to CR Park. I can make mean Punjabi items but not quite good at maaiyer ranna. Thank you a lot guys for the videos. P.S. Love the background music! Takes me to Santiniketan every damn time.
Love the video and the audio... So relaxing. Yes i agree that there are many ways of cooking the same things. My mum always put panch phoron and left out kumro and sheem from it.
Ghonto is one of the best nutritious things one can have; Two observations: 1. To have the slurry texture, veggies not retaining their shapes are important. It gives that bit extra taste to the Ghonto. 2. As pointed out in a few other comments, feel that flavour of the the Palak will be diluted by using coriander. Better to refrain. However, as usual beautiful intiative and clarity / edit of video footage is much professional. Have become an ardent fan of the channel. My best wishes to both of you on Bijoya Dashami.

Am making this with a lot of trepidation as my mother-in-law makes this really well and my husband loves to have it. They are extremely large shoes to fill, so keeping my finger crossed i get it very near to hers. Thanks @bongeats!!!

Ghonto is one of the best nutritious things one can have; Two observations:
