Congrats! The 690/701 is such a sick bike, I truly love this bike but still waiting for a full leo vince exhaust to be sent to me. I got back on the MT-07 because it had been collecting dust. It's nice to hear some sound again. I'll be happy when I get some sound on my 690.
He convinced me as well, I traded my new mt03 after 3 weeks for a 24 KTM 390 Adventure. ✌🏻✅
Get the Harley and get it over with. You will have a ball with content. The Bike probably ain’t gonna be for you but the content you will create will be worth it then get rid of it and don’t look back until Harley decides to innovate.
lol It might get too real if I get a Harley, that's what I worry about.
I'd go Harley for two reasons: 1) you've already owned a Ducati xDiavel S and 2) I don't personally feel like you've given Harleys a fair shake by calling them slow because you compare them to sport bikes and that's not a fair comparison because cruisers, like sport bikes, are purpose-built and the two types aren't built for the same purpose. And I'm not just saying that because I love my Harley. Lol

HD Sportster S or Diavel 1260s!!! Muscle cruisers that ride like naked! The Diavel V4 is great but the 1260S looks amazing!
Try the Sportster S. Light weight, Piles of torque, piles of horsepower and it walks away from the Yamaha MT09.
Seriously? I've never heard it can beat a MT-09, which can do under 11 seconds in the 1.4 mile.
I've had both styles. A Suzuki SV650 naked bike and a Honda Magna cruiser. The SV was more enjoyable at short rides through town/city or on curvy roads but would get uncomfortable on longer rides or at highway speeds. The Magna was the total opposite. Less maneuverable in the city and worse handling but I was able to ride it for hours without being uncomfortable. They're just different tools for different jobs.

That's why I wanted to try one. The cool thing about Harley Favidson is they allow test rides usually.

CC I have a standing offer for you that I mentioned before. Come to AZ where I live and you can ride my 2018 Harley Davidson Low Rider which I only paid $12k for used with 1300 miles on it. You’re also welcome to ride my 2014 BMW 1200RT, IMHO the best sport touring bike in the world. And there is a dealer in Scottsdale, AZ that will let you test ride any bike they sell and they carry most brands. You don’t know what you don’t know… stay safe

Got an HD two years ago. An 06 fuel injectioned with under 2k miles on it for a great deal. I like it so much i got an HD jacket. Aftermarket seat (extra comfy) and exhaust (sounds sick) already on it. I got two supermoto 's and I'm riding the HD the most now.

I know it's hard for a naked bike rider to make that big jump to a harley, but I think it's time to rip that band-aid off and just get it over with, for the channel.
I'd suggest going with the sportster S, like many other have suggested here. It has more mid controls, is liquid cooled, very powerful, and I really do think you might even enjoy it a little. Lol

Try a rebel 1100 - best sporty cruiser for the money with mid foot controls. With an exhaust it’s got that low end grunt as well
Get yourself a nice HOG! A harley Fat Bob would be sick! You already have badass cornering/wheelie bikes with the supermoto's. Get the other extreme with a big lazy engine and some wind protection for longer rides. My current stable is V-star 1300, DRZ 400 SM and a Talaria sting r mx4 for inner city/dirt hooning. Love the KTM 690 they just don't let anything bigger than 450cc on our local kart track in Texas or I would have one.

My 2021 Harley Streetbob has Mid pegs. I really like it, don't even want forward controls on it. But that may be the only Harley cruiser to have those.
Two CHOICES: 2024 Kawasaki Ninja zx4rr 40th Anniversary Edition --- you can easily have ECU flashed / $200 (+/-); air filter; exhaust mod for full 77 HP --- not a single negative Utube video on this bike --- " more fun than a big 'ole expensive bike ";
OTHER. than zx4rr ---- 2024 Yamaha MT 09 ( base model ---- has everything one would ever need or want ).
If you decide to get a Harley don't buy a new one. Find yourself a good deal on a Switchback. Its based on the Dyna series and comes standard with removable bags and windscreen. Its also not super heavy for a Harley, and has the 103 cubic inch engine putting out about 70 hp and 88 foot pounds of torque. The pegs are mid/forward so your legs will not be too far out in front of you but not straight down either. Lastly, the price tag won't give you a heart attack either. We all know how you like a deal lol!

I took a Ducati V4 Multistrada for a ride and it was just incredible! Nearly the power of that Diablo but the suspension soaksup the roads. However, a simple 114 Street Bob or a Softail Standard, you will never run out of options customizing it. I love kicking back on my Street Bob with forward controls and chugging along . . . or, blasting through the gears.
Wait, it looks like Ducati is returning the Multistrada V2S??? Now that might be a super fun bike, 113 HP and 485lbs!!! Just shy of that 80LB/FT of twist-O'-torque!

This new gen Kawasaki is great out here on the roads. I know liter bikes used to be terrible on the street. Things have changed. You seem like you have an open mind. I think I can change your mind. @CycleCruza yes it's not a sport bike, but once moving you don't feel the weight. Plus it's a lot of low down torque. Just go test ride I think you might like it.
I got a new Road King Police this week. It’s fantastic. Have that and a 2003 Yamaha FZ1 my future kids will likely inherit. Everytime I ride it I sound like Cyclecruza OH MAN! 😂😂😂
The police road king has a higher seat than any Harley. It still has floorboards, but you can get off the seat while riding MUCH easier. Might be worth a look if you want to make some Harley content.
with you ,I converted a mv agusta brutale 800 into a naked supermotard,dropped ,forward pegs ,bar risers,clear hand gaurds, had 50 bikes the mv is a keeper,also no buffering at highway speed the stock screen disgne for no buffering 72 y ears old, lightweight 126 hp ,touring tyres

Get a Sportster
If I ever got a cruiser type bike it would be the Kawasaki Z650S, comfy, light, still have fun with it. Great for everything except sportbike craziness/shenanigans over 110-120 mph.
Have you thought about EagleRider or some other similar service? A grom would be good but u might get bored of it fast. Just stick with the MT-07.

Serious question CC...You're a big guy that says you only enjoy small , lightweight bikes that are 'flickable' and 'easy to pick up'. Bikes that look like minibikes with a large guy like you on them.
So how many large and/or heavy (550lbs +) bikes have you actually owned or ridden for any real amount of time? None, right? If I lived closer, I'd turn you loose on my BMW R1200RT for a week or two so you could see what you're missing. It's built for performance and sized perfectly for someone your height.
He will never understand that. He only likes bikes that weigh around 300 lbs. He talks about the weight of the bike like he is going to carry it on his back. I never understood his obsession with weight of the bikes lol. He is missing so much and has no clue what some of those bikes can do.
Get a Harley. Buy used or certified used. To save on cost. Get a stage 2 kit with a torque cam. If it isn’t for you, switch it up next year. At least you get the content and move to the next year

If you get a Harley a low rider s would be cool, and it has some ground clearance and mid controls. if I get a cruiser and sell my mt07, that’s what I’m gonna get
Here is why you need to consider DDv4: lots of low end tork 126 nm as well as hp; comfy midpegs for the tall folks like you: cool: a cruiser you can take tocthe track: light, the shed 11 kg;

CC, i went from a harley to a mt07 and back to a harley. I loved the fz-07, but it was so uncomfortable on my butt riding that thing longer than 30 minutes while i can ride a harley for hours without a complaint. Also the fz was great on the city streets and in the twisties but riding that thing on the highway was uncomfortable and scary at high speeds on a windy day.
Harleys also have the cool unique factor that mt-07s lack. Harleys have a lot more opportunities for customization and making the bike unique.
I don't do track days, and i don't ride around the streets like it's the grand prix. Harleys aren't built to go fast, but it doesn't bother me, i ride to cruise and get some wind on my chest. I love nakeds and still might get another one in the future but i'll always have a harley in the garage.
When the time comes to trade in my Tracer, a large part of my soul will go with it!
Try some ape hangers on the Yamaha!
I think adventure bikes like the GS and Multi Strata are great bikes.
Also a bike like the BMW RT 1250 are great bikes.
That Suzuki 8R looks cool bet its Quick, On Long Rides like State to State that Harley RD King was easy on my Back and Rear,, After 2 Hrs on the Ninja 6R I got to get off the thing for a 10 min Smoke break,,,,,just get a Fat Boy in Matt Black,,,
I used to be a Harley hater until I bought one. I get the whole "Slow and loud" argument, but there's just something about it that I can't explain. I've owned several Japanese bikes, both sport bikes and cruisers, but even the Japanese cruiser bikes don't give me the same feeling. Worst case scenario, you get a Harley, don't like it, and sell it easily. Try a Lowrider or Street Bob.
That's what I often hear from nearly all of my friends who switched to Harleys. I've only ridden one and that was a Breakout that was so slow and not very fun but maybe with a Vance and Hines exhaust ti would have been more interesting. My cousin has the lowrider and loves it, he won't let anybody ride it tho. lol I need to get some test rides at the HD dealership.
@@CycleCruza That's true, the first thing I did was take that stock exhaust off, and swap it out for a Cobra exhaust and it feels way better. It's not any faster, but it sounds cool and has a nice rumble 🤣
Get you a harley low rider s or st with engine work. Cams, intake, exhaust, maybe big bore kit. You'll have fun. That's a real torque monster. BTW I own a z900 , drz400sm, harley, klx110. Not a harley elitist. I enjoy them all.

Get a used Yamaha Raider. Same power as HD Breakout but for a lot less money.
Nice! I met a dude once that had a Yamaha cruiser and it had hydaulic suspension on it and he could drop it flat and didn't need a kickstand. Very cool bike.

Maybe a MotoGuzzi? They are kind of unique. Not surebhow good the dealer network is in your market. I love my fz07 and don't really have any justifiable reasons to get rid of it after the 5 years I've owned it. It takes me everywhere with enough party juice to have a good time
I have yet to see a Moto Guzzi dealer or any of their bikes around me. However, I'm weary of Italian bikes, the only problems I ever had with a motorcycle were with Italian motorcycles, Ducati and Aprilia.
I own a MT07 now and I owed a FZ09 in the past. Right now my personal interest is on the KTM 1390 or 990 duke and the Yamaha MT10. I hate the extra cost on the tech packs but the KTM's have me thinking. I love the naked bikes most of all the 6 street bikes I have owned. I don't see me personally ever owning a HD, I think they are ugly and don't sound that great.
BMW GS 1300 or similar is the type you havent tried yet. Also 2 stroke 300..

Get a MT09. First naked bike I owned was a V-Max (first gen) and then a B-King... and so on...
I owned a 2020 MT-09, loved the CP3 engine but did not care for chassis that much. However, I hear the newer MT-09 is much better but I don't believe I could provide all that much content with a MT-09, already have done a bunch of videos on it. Honestly, the only reason I get new bikes is for the channel, I never would get so many new bikes if I never had a channel. I'd probably still be on that cbr600rr. lol However, I'm glad I tried new different bikes because I never would have realized how awesome supermotos and the MT-07 is.
@@CycleCruza I have had over 75 bikes and know what I want, however my taste change over time. I no longer wan t another ZX14 or a Busa, all those bikes are too uncomfortable.. I would like to ride a rocket 3 but like you said you can not use all that power most of the time.

Yeah I'm about torque now, grew tired of cops tailing me and getting speeding tickets. Last speeding ticket I got was on that Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory I owned and it nearly got me arrested. lol I was about 2 mph from getting arrested. lol I had to hire a "Better call Saul" type of attorney that got it reduced down to a broken tail light and no points. Get a Ducati Hypermotard 950. Its a naked bike crossed with a supermoto - your two favorite categories of motorcycles. Why get a Harley? Its expensive, it lacks power, it lacks handling, you don't like having your feet forward like that. No point.
You got several bikes so reliability isn't the most important part. So you can get an italian bike. You already owned a Diavel. You already owned naked bikes. You already owned inline four supersports. IMO:
Either;
(a) get a 950 Hypermotard, or
(b) get a really special bike, like an MV Agusta Rush or something. A inline four streetfighter like the GSX-S1000 or Kawasaki Z1000. Something different than what you already have or have owned before.
Honestly, my KTM 690 SMC R has way more power than you need for a supermoto, I wouldn't want anything faster or heavier in a supermoto. However, Ive always wanted to try a MV Agusta but we don;t any dealers in Ohio. I've only seen a MV Agusta once in person at a dealership and it was a sexy bike.
Try a touring bike or ADV bike!
Coming from a metric cruiser owner (Vulcan S) I say keep the MT-07 because you won't find a better bike for you. If you do get a cruiser I think you should get the 2025 Indian Scout which only weighs 553lbs. and has 111hp and 82 lb/ft torque. It does have forward foot controls but you could also consider the Rebel 1100 with mid controls.
I've always loved the look of the Indian Scout bobber but then I realize what will I do on that bike that I'm not already doing on my MT-07? lol After owning a Ducati XDiavel S it is hard to go back to cruisers.
Start riding sport touring bikes like the new M1000XR and Ducati RS, that’s what older guys like 😊
I have learned a lot from Scotty Kilmer. Buy Japanese. But, that's for people who want to ride 300,000 miles on the same motorcycle.
I don't know about getting rid of the bike, you give more reasons to like it than dislike it so it sounds like you justified it yourself. I test rode two Harleys for the first time yesterday and they were cool but not Ducati (even with more CCs than an XDS). They are chick magnets though...
On the other hand, the V4 is super light... seemed lighter than a Streetfighter to me. Almost too light but I personally don't care for the styling or 6K Akrapoviich exhaust that costs most than some exhausts to upgrade a Lamborghini. I'm sure it is fun though.
Do what you like but if it were me, I would get rid of something else the garage first or get an outdoor cover for $50 bucks to protect one of the older bikes outside so you can keep them all. Good luck!

cyclecruza love it when you say my yamahadavidson that always makes me laugh. i got a kawasaki z900 naked and a 77 harley davidson flh and they are both a blast to ride the harley is a more relaxed ride with a great rumbling engine and the z900 provides that fun acceleration and cornering i love both naked sort bikes and a cruisers of and if i were you i would get a harley just to try it out yes its a pain that they are so expensive new i agree. but anyways i enjoy your vids and agree with to ride everything. types

I like all bikes, but I stay away from owning Harley all because of two reasons, the price and rumors that it's not reliable. I think you should just keep that sweet MT07 and just buy a shed on your property so you can add more motorsickles, or do what most people do that don't have a garage, or shed. Just park the oldest motorsickle outside. I park my motorsickle in the front of my patio where couple of hours it soaks in the morning sun, and the rest of the day it's in the shade when I'm not riding it. Meow when I do get my NEW bike the MT09 or 10 or cb1000r I'm going to invest in a shed. Meow if I can't afford a shed after I get my new motorsickle. I'll just get a cover for it till I can.
Yeah I;ve been looking into getting a shed, I need to get some estimates. Nothing is cheap these days. Also, I have to see what my HOA allows. 😂 I sat on a CB1000r Neo Cafe and that bike felt so good to me, I might try that bike, such a good looking bike.

Guarantee you'll regret getting rid of the MT07. I did. Until I got the new Hypermotard Mono RVE, the MT07 was the best hooligan wheelie machine I've ever swung a leg over. So unless you're set on 1 bike especially, I wouldn't sell it to get something new that you could get buyer's remorse not a day later. If you love the KTM 690 then maybe wait for the new KTM 990 RC R when it comes out.
Nice bike! yeah the MT-07 sound is so intoxicating to me, I had to get back on it for a little bit until I get my exhaust for my 690 supermoto. You don't need anymore power than the 690 on a supermoto, really this 690 has more power than you need on a supermoto. I need to ride my YZ, it has been collecting dust, I should probably get a top end and valve check done on it, however, it still starts up fast and ride great.
