Where everything is just a dictionary of Strings in a trenchcoat with a makeshift compatibility layer for HTML. Then you have to rely on PHP and SQL for anything else because nobody sane would trust JS with handling a database.
This reminds me of when my dad had a windows XP computer for like the longest time. It would legit take 10 minutes or more to load pages and he was just content with doing that. I had no idea how he could stand it. Now my computer boots up in less than a minute.
My dad won't upgrade beyond WinXP. Why? Because he still uses Lotus123 (the 16-bit version). Maybe I would be like him in a few decades. Windows 37? No! I'll use Win10!
I use to play xcom enemy unknown with 15fps and a loading time of about 5 minutes or so on a 2007 laptop. I would walk off, have a piss, eat a snack, get some water and come back. It was a simple life, not to mention my habits were a lot healthier then than now

New PC's have a surprisingly outstanding endurance. While old PC's are more prone to break to static and old HD Drives can break easily with a fall or by shaking it, new ones can resist hits, strong movement, irregular and low quality electrical sources due to new, high quality power supplies. Just look at Myeester's (not sure how to write it lol) test PC. It has lots of bent pins in the CPU socket and has a lot of weird liquids which were tested as thermal pastes and it still runs fine.

SDDs can also function in older PCs without great problems, namely the only 2 i encountered were that the reading speed of older CD-ROM Readers and Floppy disk Readers can't keep up with the SSD. The problem of static electricity is due the dumb decision to use galvanic steel housing for the PSU that interacts with the magnetic field of the transformer unit. Painted units don't have that Problem. But i must concur that old PCs still have the disadvantage of leakage current and that of failing capacitors. Both of them are age related problem that will also occur in an PC from 2020 in 10 years. Really, the only advantage i see in an new PC is the speed of handling Software. Due to greater Performance new PCs are powersinks that tend to overheat and they chip away at the durability of their components very fast due to worse quality and greater electrical burden...

I remember turning on the family computer, then walking away to grab a snack or something, knowing I was just going to be sitting and waiting elsewise. Once it got to the desktop, it needed a minute or two to 'settle' before it could properly run any programs. I still let it sit for a minute because it was just such an engrained habit, even though within like 4 seconds of displaying the desktop, my current computer is ready to run anything.
I laughed, then looked at the old, coal-fired steam-driven held-together buzzing laptop I'm watching this on (which I love to pieces despite all that), and understood.
Since my friend got an SSD, he often says "wait, i'll restart". Then he reconnects literally 20 seconds later like "i'm ready". And i bring up yet again if he's gonna restart or not because i forget his PC can do that.
To be fair, when you have spent 5000$ on a PC, you DO have the right to expect it to boot up in 0.00452 seconds. While the old XP that can cost me 0.00452 cents, does have the right to boot up in 5000 years

I always assumed it was because it's about average built gaming pc with pretty filled hard drives. I take it to a repair shop for a separate issue, they notice the time it took and said it was probably another issue. Get my pc back, it all boots up in a minute...I still can't believe it.

TBF, when a brand-new super powerful computer runs slower than it's supposed to, that's usually a sign something's wrong. When an older computer runs slow, that means it's working correctly, in fact it might be even more concerning if it suddenly started running really fast.
