During my junior year in high school there was a very hesitant, quiet, anxious and shy girl. Nobody heard her speak a word ever and when we were doing auditions for the beginning and last solos, she was the very last girl in the long line of confident singers, she was shaking while her turn approached her. Her chance came and she GLOWED her solo was absolutely stunning so effortlessly sang, i have never heard a voice as beautiful as hers! She fell to her chair and sat there as if she was ashamed and scared of what would happen next. Nobody spoke a word that day as she sat there in a ball shaking to the core. She got the part, and she flourished and grew since that day.
I haven’t heard of her after the year came to an end. Last i’ve heard she had moved to California and I hope she pursues her career with her MARVELOUS and MEMORABLE voice I will never forget that moment in my life. Music teacher of 32 years was astonished and at a loss of words, she’s heard numberless amount of voices but not as unique as hers.

I was student conductor my senior year of high school and I taught and conducted this at our final concert and at graduation. Everyone loved it and it was probably one of the proudest moments in my choral career

Alto in my choir here and their notes actually sound incredible when combined with the Baritones. Like they sound more harmonious then the soprano's.

I'm so sorry, I feel the same way. My big send off concert was to be scheduled on March 23rd, cause my choir group was going to perform in New York at THE Carnegie Hall and Choirs of America because we were picked. (You have to be sound amazing to get invited, cause only the top schools get to perform there.) But sadly, due to this years recent pandemic, it got canceled a month before we were set to fly.. Theres always next year, I guess.
This is such a fun song to play on the piano - I accompanied my high school’s choir a year or so ago and it was just like a day of light and nothing else mattered… it’s beautiful.

Everyone in the comments is in show choir, but my middle school did a combined show with drama and chorus. I was in drama. Their was like over 200 kids in this show. Every 8th grader was stressed, including me. It was super fun though.
