Im the same way, plus, I'm autistic and adhd. I've grown up alone and isolated cause no one in school wanted to be my friend. I was the 'weird' one, the 'freak'. And the only people that were my friends weren't actually my friends, they would mock me behind my back, and make fun of me. That only contributed towards my social anxiety and low self worth which I still face to this day as my 24th birthday is coming up soon. But this song and movie have always been my comfort when I needed it. It's shown me that I can make a stand, I don't have to apologize to anyone for being me, I can just be, well, me. I can be myself. And eventually, I'll find the people who WILL care about me, who WILL support me, and WILL love me for who I am. Until then I'll stand up for myself and be me.

I’m 51, suffered bullying, been through depression, illness, people letting me down etc - but I am stronger because of it. I dont usually cry at a movie but this one made me get so emotionally involved that i cried tears of joy that these people were proud of who they are despite their differences and appearances and found myself with tears several times through out the movie. This is a Masterpiece.

It's so weird seeing a movie take a risk and make their hero characters screw up, let them know they screwed up, and then have them about-face to correct it. Movies now never want to make the heroes wrong. It's why Anne's death glares during the number is one of the best parts of the entire film.

What really gets me is that he can come from a movie like Logan, a character that he is synonymous with and plays to perfection, and then shrug that off and step into a role that couldn't be more different and still wear the role like it's his own skin, such an amazing actor.

But on reflection, the way it shaped my life *I wouldn't trade for the world.* Isolating myself gave me a lot of time to think, and a lot more ability to decide for myself who I am than most dragged along by peer pressure can say. I don't need to be fixed, *I was never broken.*

The other kids stare at me, cause recently they had the "Most Ugliest Student Voting Contest" in their discord without me and they voted me as top #1. Dont listen to them. School can be cruel, most of us had it sadly but it will make you stronger. I was also bullied a lot and laughed at, which by the time was pretty painful if Im honest with myself but that teached me slowly not to care about their opinions at all. Now Im here, at age 23 living with the love of my life being stronger than ever. If I would meet those people from the past who hurt me and laughed at me, I wouldnt feel anything else but pity for them. Imagine how sad their life is if thats what they spend their times with. My 12 year old daughter sung this solo at her junior school leavers concert last year,despite never showing any interest in singing she had obviously been secretly practising for a while beforehand,she nailed it and received a standing ovation from the parents and teachers. One of the proudest moments of my life,my wife was sobbing and I turned to her and whispered"turn it in,it's only a song" all the while fighting back the almost overwhelming urge to blub my self.inspite of the fact that it is not something I would listen to ordinarily,it does provides a memory of those few moments of intense pride,for which I am truly thankful.

My 12 year old daughter sung this solo at her junior school leavers concert last year,despite never showing any interest in singing she had obviously been secretly practising for a while beforehand,she nailed it and received a standing ovation from the parents and teachers.
