Say what you like I think 6 inches is perfect. Any longer and it's too much. Any shorter and you'll be left wanting more.
But yeah if you're proficient, 4 inches shouldn't be too a great hindrance.

To be fair, it's also fun to combine all the terrain in all of them.
I would recommend 3d printing too. Saves you a lot of money that way you can afford the newer boxes.

I just played my first games of Kill Team with my son over the weekend. We both LOVED it. Now he's scheming how to get revenge with his Krieg vs my Novitiates.
Played against the beastmen yesterday. They are definitely broken, at least in an indoor map like into the dark. They stay alive with the frenzy tokens which are just busted
i played against my gf legionaries the other day and i can say they are not very good against units that can shoot you twice and/ore fight you twice. especially because some of the legionaries crits on 5+ and can re-roll grantig you atleast 1 crit that insta kills a frenzied beastmen. also the beastmen have shitty save, if you can kill one with a shot and be more than 4 circles away the beastmen cannot attempt a charge and just do nothig and die.
@@DeBia. you’re talking about legionaries, like you said can fight twice and one of the best teams rn. I played against them with orks, a more balanced team and was into the dark map. Easy for them to charge in before you can get enough shots in. If you’re opponent is smart they activate the beastman that you just gave a frenzy token to immediately so you can’t kill it before it does it’s charge

The ForgeWorld killteam had a similar tac op with their Sicarians Infiltrators
Beastmen in classic warhammer fantasy had 2 wounds when all the basic troops only had 1....a the higher wound count on beastmen makes sense for anyone who remembers those days.
There are two uses for the Lugger on Gunners. 1) One of the Gunners is incapacitated and you want that weapon instead of another. 2) Mid game you want to have the 4th variant you didn’t start the game with.

Re: lugger; when does the rules sequence actually check for roster legality? It might be possible to get multiple plasma gunners on the table depending when that check occurs.

TFW a single Beastmen has fuller, longer, healthier beard than all the Squats combined.
I'm thinking of building my Salvager Gunners without the plasma beamer and missle launcher, and using the Lugger (Lydia, "I'm sworn to carry your burdens") to get the launcher or beamer to where they can get max value. I think keep her between two of the gunners, try to opportunistically hop and swap.

Back in the early 90’s during Space Marie/Epic the IG used to be able to take a whole regiment of Beast Men. They were just another abhuman.

Tzaangors are “technically” beast men
I use the lugger with the gunners and when one gets taken off the board i can swap a warriors load out to that load out if needed.
IE: if my missle launcher guy gets wiped but i need him next turn i can swap my Gatlin-gun into a misssle launcher and he can do what i wanted him to do.

I think you're sleeping on the Gnarlscar Jay, dude is a goaty ninja. I know beastman shooting is nothing to worry about, but you can give him a krak grenade - so use ambush, flip him to engage, charge, use uncompromising attack and shove a krak grenade down the target's throat and then bionic fist to finish them off with a crit, then back into conceal.
Gotta give them a higher priority target than the Mauler after all! I look forward to hearing how you do with them.

Does the judgement token system outlined in the rule book reflect 10th edition changes to the system? Not trying to cry about it, just curious if the book is already out of date.
Kill team runs on mostly different rules so it is only kinda similar to the 9th ed and 10th ed judgement tokens. I would say that it is more similar to 9th ed tokens but the systems are so different that its difficult to say

Is Kill team expensive to keep up with? There seems to be large box sets out quite regularly, what was the time between gallowfall and ashes of faith? (newbee here only done some painting so far)
Edit: you can also get the starter set for ruffly $100 and it comes with 2 teams terrain a core rule book dice the whole 9 yards it’s how I started the game and the vet guard are still pretty good.
You could convert normal miniatures into KT miniatures by the power of CUSTOMS
You don't need more teams; teams are, we found, difficult to pick up and get good / fast with. occasionally getting more terrain can be nice, with more Shadow Ops (story rather than competitive) missions.
Ashes of Faith is a different sort of release. The normal big boxes are once every three months. Again, you don't need them; if you have a group, you can alternate who is buying each season, or something.

I don’t think so because it must switch to a legal load out and each heavy gunner is max 1 per kill team. I would think even a incapacitated operative still counts towards this limit

Yup! It's nice into elite teams, allows you to put out a lot of damage. Only issue is if a single unit got 3 grudge tokens (or even 2 honestly) from you dying there is a good chance you already lost.

The Beastmen should swap their frenzy ability, which does seem broken, for the ability to throw their poop around. It could have a rule where any operative that's hit by a chaos-turd can no longer be moved within 3" of any friendly dude.

I wouldnt know if the game is broken or not, there was no way I was ever going to obtain a set with GWs level of distribution at the moment.
The ability to make one of your units go last is a huge advantage for the space dwarves. Think of this I'm playing my Corsairs and I've carefully maneuvered my Felarch to charge a Space Dwarf on an objective that'll win me the matcj, but you get first turn, move your comms man to to see my Felarch and makes him go last. So I have to choose othet Corsair unit who's at the back on an objective who cant do much, so another Space Dwarf manages to flank my Felarch and take him out with a point-blank deluge and you win the game. It's likely a winner and an annoying one at that.

I noticed a few things you mentioned in the salvagers portion of your video were not correct.
Settle grudges works differently than that and it actually isn't too great. You get a tally for the first (and only the first) time you kill someone who has a grudge token each turning point. One you get 2 tallys you get a Vp when you get a third tally you get another vp. Which means you have to kill someone with a grudge token on 3 seperate turning points in order to max this out.
Also wrought defense isn't too good either. Rather than treat one of your normal saves as a crit save you get to retain one of your missed saves as a successful one IF you retain a crit save. That makes its usefulness a lot more limited, it would only work if you roll a crit save and a 1 or a 2 on a defense roll, which isn't insanely likely.
Also, notably, the leader is actually allowed to take a full-length gun and a power axe.
The team is also not necessarily good at shooting as the only re-rolls they get are from ceaseless bolters and the attack oder. That being said the damage the gunners can put out is insane, especially with the beamer.
I'll let you know in 3 years when I finally get one.

There are at least 5 different ... leagues? to choose from, with different color schemes. You get the transfers for 4 or 5 of them in the box.

I played back in the late 90s. It was expensive then and the rules kept changing and nobody wanted to play the old rules so I had to quit playing instead of buying new models.

as i understand it it bypasses the legal load out rule so yes you could be rocking ore then one say mini gun

i really dislike the beastmen
they (and the stuff for the herdstones) are just ripped straight from fantasy, with literally NOTHING to make them fit in 40k
take the guns off the models, and they are AoS models (they even have the drummer guy which every AoS unit has), theres nothing there to say they are 40k about them
i am 100% certain that the unit was going to be an updated bestigore unit for AoS, but then GW realised they didnt have anything else for the beastmen so didnt want to ship just a single updated unit, and needed an extra unit for kill team and didnt have anything ready, so they just slapped some guns on them and went "look guys 40k beastmen"
the beastmen from blackstone fortress were WAY better fit for 40k then these ones, i really REALLY dislike them
