Mandala Candle Holder... No Guidelines, No Plans, No practice!

- Look at this design! I painted this mandala candle holder using only 2 dotting tools, no guidelines, no stencils, no practice, etc. I just had an idea and I rolled with it! I got these rainbow paints in my Christmas stocking so I had to try them out. A little too think for me so I did have to water them down just a bit. I was so very nervous that I was videoing a rock that I was going to wash. But you know? I think this project just goes to show... Don't over think it! Just Dot! Grab your tools, your paints, and your shaky knees and just go for it! Sure, it might all just flop and wash... but what if? What if it turns out awesome! I'm going to try to remember to concentrate more on what could go right instead of what could go wrong! If you need any help with this just holler!
I think simple instructions would be... Pick 6 colors. Start with your large dotting tools and dot 4 dots, take the medium one and begin dotting on the third dot in the entire row and make 6 dots in total. You should now have 8 dots. Now take your smallest tool and begin on the 6th or 7th dot and don't stop until you reach the stopping point. This is so simple yet super difficult to explain. When ever you start with red... just count over 6 pockets and go for it! Yours may not turn out exactly like mine but it should get you something you're happy with! Good luck!

That’s the best reaction… Thank you ♥️ I kept stopping at sections “to let it dry.” But, I think I was really more nervous to proceed without a plan or a line or anything to know how it would turn out. I love using my art to relate to life with. I think the lesson here was that it’s ok to go without a plan. Just a desire and good intentions might just be all it takes. I’m really tickled at how this came out. It’s a bit wonky here and there and the finished edge is all over the place but I like it.

@@JaDeLRocks Doing just fine. I'm in Florida so the weather has been great today! Personally though, my aches and pains are still abundant and thriving! Think of me because I am having a painters block. I guess I painted so much for the holidays that I am just not into it right now. I painted 2.5 inch circle ornaments for every woman in my church and mailed off special orders. I'm sad to say Valentines day took a hit because of it, only a few hearts made. Hope you had a great day today. Your tea light above really is phenomenal!

I don’t see why not. These are comparable to the 4.5 “ stones. All you’d have to do is come up with a center.
