Nice sharing. Thanks. 3 questions re soon ho e visa : 1. Does this visa pave path for permanent residence or does one has to move out after 5 or 10 years? 2. Can we deposit the amount in USD and take it back in USD or does it need to be converted to IDR? 3. Can we really buy property on our name or will it be lease?. Thanks
Nice valuable information! Point is that Canada, USA or Australia are the not the only place should be desired. Also there are many places for Pakistanis to visit besides Dubai. So go learn from different countries and implement those good things you learned in Pakistan.
Is the 36 month rule applied to original validity of your passport or remaining validity? If it's remaining validity that could be difficult as many countries will not renew your pasport unless you have less than onebyear of validity left
Fyi, this country locate inside the Ring of Fire location. So expected a severe natural disasters such as earthquake, volcanic eruption and typhoon more than other place.
two questions. can we deposit $125,000 in amercian usd dollars instead of the coverting into their local currency? also i heard you don't get the freehold lease of the property, it would be lease for the 30 years only and you have to return it back to them?
I am keen to settle in Jakarta and am exploring opportunities for either a business or work visa. If anyone has advice or resources, please let me know. Thank you!
What are the other additional costs to complete the process to acquire a residency visa? Is it easy to get Indonesian citizenship compared to Malaysia?
I'm not sure if you can get citizenship in Indonesia. As far as my research can tell me, I don't think there are additional costs for this residence visa.
I enjoyed your presentation and it helped me understand that particular visa. I am very interested in retiring in Jakarta from the USA and have started looking into it. Can you please let me know about other retirement visa options?
Its not very attractive. Why would you wane some government control your money for some resident visa, which doesn't offer you work permit nor offer you path to citizenships. Put simply, Indonesia government looking for cash cow.
It's not worth this country for someone who wants to stay permanently to put his roots there. You can't be a permanent resident indefinitely like in Canada, the USA, neighbouring Singapore, or the Chinese city of Hong Kong. They want your money only, the stay is allowed temporarily buy their expensive property but you are not allowed to work. Yes, just a stupid policy. Stay away from Indonesia. Why would you go there to spend your money without a future?
Thanks for your valuable and authentic information. Jzk . I have a plan to move with my family to Indonesia but I'm afraid I won't be able to invest 125k$ in one go... is there any other way out? By the way, I have British passport, I don't think I should get any immigration facilities for that , will I ? Please advise kindly. Or please share your email address. Thanks -Shariul
You’re so welcome, wa iyyak! That’s a good question and I think your best option would be to speak directly with a visa agency in Jakarta. I wouldn’t want to guess at the answer and give you inaccurate information:) Also, have you visited before? It’s always a good idea to visit and scope out the country (for a few months if possible) before deciding to settle there. InshaAllah hope your move goes smoothly!

Not sure about your second question, but as for the deposit, unfortunately it does need to be converted in Indonesian Rupee.
