  • I've switched back to CNCJS from Octoprint. After I rebuilt the Primo I decided to take another look at my workflow and CNCJS seems to be working better for me.

You are entirely correct, learning work flow after the fact exposes all the mistakes made.
...and rebuys, relearn, to the bin are the only way to correct things.
Wasted money, wasted time, near complete losses.
Work flow also implies all the necessary ingredients needed at each step and why.
Hardly any of these vendors provide a clear map of work flow and what is required at each node. It is all thrown in incomplete disconnected layouts that generate 100s of questions.
    ...hodpodge soup...
You are exposing but a small part and only to those who already have a basic structure, good or bad.

it ia very useful progra, thanks.
I am going to ask if there is a posibility to include an autolevelling extention ot height map to improve the machine planarity .
I can not find out a simple way to do it .
    Thanks

Thanks for the video. How do you control the speed of the 660?

@@ProjectbyBrian Have you used CNCjs for a single job/file that does bit changes? If so, how did you deal with it? I have some gcode insterted in the file but can't figure out how to get the z re-zeroized (ie: using a probe or manually).

How do you manage zeroing the machine and aligning that to your workspace with CNCjs? I'm having issues with utilizing the work offsets

@@ProjectsbyBrian Great thanks! Just to clarify, you home the machine in CNCjs to zero and square the axes, then jog it to your Fusion coordinate start point on your workpiece, and then touch off your z height with the probe? After which CNCjs just runs the gcode as if it were zeroed at that point?

How did you get the right post processor for the MPCNC into fusion360?

Hey Brian, recently switched to CNCjs as well from octoprint. I cant seem to get my machine coordinates and work coordinates to work like you have at 3:23 in the video. They just stay at 0.000 have you seen this? Running the latest CNCjs.

@@ProjectsbyBrian Same cncjs version as well. Do you have to hit the homing button up top before it shows up? If I do that, it tries to home Z and if I dont have the probe under it, it obviously crashes the Z into the spoilboard.

@@ProjectsbyBrian I guess thats another question, do you home z before you offset it off to your workpiece or do you just home X Y and then home Z to the workpiece.

Have in mind that you can run CNCJS from Rasbery Pi or Linux and you can also open the software from any other pc/tablet with browser like you do with octoprint.
I have test it on my linux laptop with Ubuntu but i dont have manage yet to make it run as service but the procedure is simpler with Rasberry Pi.

    • @giannism7157

@@ProjectsbyBrian Well you can have dual boot ubuntu or the Pi if that helps you without the windows update the machine while you runing your CNC.
You dont need to connect the keyboard to the Pi...maybe i wasnt clear with this one you will have the Pi as "server" runing the cncjs and be connected to the MPCNC and the lapto or any other device as "client" connected to that instance of CNCJS.
Here is an example i followed for my Linux PC
