I enjoy seeing videos of people visiting Maine, my state. I’m in central Maine now, but live on an island. Dad was a lobsterman for 40+ years. Pizza Hut pizza was more exciting for a treat than lobster! LOL Never had Red’s, but parked overnight in public parking on the water years ago. Momo’s opened after I moved out of that area. Son went there just last night for GF cheesecake!
Gina has a real sense of how to make fun videos while enjoying the simple pleasures of life while traveling. I've never wanted to try lobster roll so badly.
LOL! I was laughing vicariously with you watching you eat that Lobster Roll! It looked Orgasmic! And that Cheesecake, OMG, I'd say, once a Foodie, always a Foodie, you can't fool us ;-)
i will let you in on a secret that i harbor religiously... if you have the makings for a "turkey burner" as most of us call an outdoor deep fryer, try cooking a couple Maine lobster's in water until the red color just starts to show, ( they are still undercooked) take them out of the water, break the tail off and put the rest back in the water to finish cooking, let it cool.. strip the tail out of the shell and peel the strip off the back of the tail, and remove the black tube hidden under this strip...mix up some stuffing mix and add diced scallops, clams, and any other seafood you make like... lay the lobster tail flat and cut it end to end without cutting it off completely, kind of like making a pocket in it for the stuffing.. put the stuffing in the tail and pack tightly, use meatpacking string to tie the tail up enough to hold the stuffing in, dip the whole thing in butter for a second and drop it in the turkey burner that has peanut oil at about 350 deg. for about 4-6 minutes and remove.. let cool and take some burger relish and mix it with mayonnaise and use this for dipping sauce...and your deep fried, stuffed, lobster tail is ready to eat.. and it is scrumptious...this is a private recipe and i tried it out on some friends and they wanted to know where i bought them..lol btw i live inland from Acadia and Portland about 100 miles as the crow flies, so maybe on your next trip to Maine you can come on up and check out the mountains, ski areas, and hundreds of thousands of acres of aloneness... well, you have to share it with the Moose of course...thanks for the vid, and i have eaten at Red's and you are right..it is one of the best lobster rolls in America...the Red Barn in Augusta is unbelievable as well.. be safe
I live only a few miles from Red's but never go there because I can't get near the place due to constant crowds. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in Maine. :)
I ate there when I was a kid, back when the two clipper ships were still in pretty good condition and the old bridge was there. We used to go swimming at Damariscotta Lake and camp at Lake Pemaquid Campground
Gina, love your energy and your spirit, you seem to have just the sweetest personality! And, another excellent food choice with that lobster roll, daaammmnnnn 😍
I saw the line and was like, nope. Then I saw your roll and was like, yes yes yes! I could almost taste it watching you. Great, now all I can think about is a lobster roll. 😃💙 Oh, at the end, hair down, 🔥🔥🔥
If you are not afraid of heights, hike up "The Precipice" in the park when you visit Bar Harbor. Pack a lobster roll for a nice treat at the top of the mountain. There are many places that will have them down town. Not as good as Red's, but pretty close.
If I could, I'd go to Maine right now for that lobster roll. 😊 Pretty decadent fare you had that day - I probably could've dispensed with the cheesecake, and just went straight for the wine. Cause I'm a wuss, that roll would've carried me through until breakfast. 😆 It was good to see that smile of your today. Take care, and safe travels. 😊✌️
Oh you will enjoy this one!!😃 and I seriously can’t wait to show y’all part 2. I think I took the prettiest video clips of the trip in this state. Unreal!
@@atinynomad I could of easily told you from my experience there at Red's, I was waiting just about two hours too. There's a reason to that lol. I paid about $50 at the time I went for a roll. It was the best, incredible lobster roll. It's worth the wait, and of course you know that. That was a damn good looking lobster roll, so they still making them right I see! I was smiling ear to ear when you finally went to Momo's cheesecake, and especially smiling after your expression when you took your first bite. I INSTANTLY knew it was a 10! 😃 Isn't that place neat? There is so much to decide on, and you picked a good one! Excellent video Gina! 😊
@@Octane_Rampage_ I guess the price of the lobster roll changes daily depending on the market cause it was $36 this time. I remember when me and my Dad went years ago they were $18.50. Oh how the times have changed! But yes Momo’s was an absolute hit! So glad that you recommended it bc I would have never thought to take my gluten free ass to a cheesecake place haha. The place itself was just so awesome too, very unique. I’m stoked that I got to experience it. 😀
@@atinynomad Your exactly right how lobster prices change daily with the market. I considered what you paid, a good price then compared to mine! Haha. Momo's, what I remember they do have a gluten free selection, so I'm glad you had options to pick from! 😁
You are a trooper standing in line that long. I'm amazed at how long of a drive-thru line some people will sit in for some stinkin' chicken strips around here. No way in hell I'll sit in one of those 😂. I couldn't help but notice it looked like you were the last one to be standing in that line. Oh well, such is life 😀 That roll looked freakin' delicious! ......and the soda sounded like it would be pretty tasty , too
Oh yeah I definitely will not wait in those crazy long drive through lines either. No way. But I’ll wait for something when I know it’s gonna be worth it! And yes I was at the end of the line but everyone who comes to Reds starts at the end of the line. Believe it or not, the line was much longer when I had finally got my food. It was wrapped around the back of the building. I imagine that some folks were waiting close to 3 hours. 😳
How expensive was it? Looks pretty darn good. Hope all is well with you. I’ll be starting vanlife again after Christmas. This time, it’s going to be permanent. Gonna spend a lot of time in Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee. Probably spend 4-6 weeks in quartzite for RTR
That’s all that matters. You get one life and it flies by, so treat yourself lol. If you like good seafood and ever travel through Louisiana, there’s a little place called middendorfs just off I55 before you take the bridge over the lake pontchetrain. I stop and fill my belly every time I’m in that area. It’s in the New Orleans area
@@rainflowers1099 I imagine someone has. I was getting to a very uncomfortable point towards the end of the wait so can’t imagine the elderly folks that are waiting that long
