What if this stage is just Green Hill? The only difference is that the sun is setting in the background and the tune is one pitch higher.
Anyway, I went for a different theme this time. It will be boring if I just slap in a still image with no effect going on.

Well the level design and gimmicks are not very close to Green Hill in any ways.
This level could've not had "hill" in the name and noone would take it as a green hill clone. At most it would be on palmtree panic and angel island level of being one.
I love the bass. It makes the entire song sooo much better and kickass
