Bering Yachts have an almost cult like following in part due to amazing coverage from some great UA-camrs, but mostly due to the fact that they build some fantastic yachts.
I took a good look at their production facilities, and also had a chat with the charming and likeable CEO and founder, Alexey Mikhaylov.

I've been hoping you would finally cover Bering. Their 77 is freaking amazing for it's size class. The Hysucat is so extraordinary. It's so smooth at high speeds and it doesn't burn gas like it should. I've been saying for the last year that if I ever won the lottery I'm calling them up for my own yacht. Bering is basically building a small commercial ship in a luxury yacht wrapper. Alexi's philosophy of constant improvement/innovation in things like structure, layouts, hull design is very easy to implement when you are working with steel. Fiberglass, you want to change a bulkhead/structure or part of the hull you gotta do a whole new mold, hundreds of thousands(maybe millions) of dollars. His philosophy of constant incremental improvements is very easy to implement when all your boats are custom spec and pretty much hand made.

Alexei is absolutely fantastic and his dedication to safety, redundancy and comfort really shines through in the finish product. Not just that, how they get their boats to keep single digit gallons per hour usage statstics at cruising for their size is INSANE (If I overheard in the Nautistyles video correctly 4.5 gal/ph for Behring 70 at 8kts)
Truly built for purpose explorer yachts and constantly innovating and adjusting their models because its all welded and not made from forms. I wonder if he will ever make an explorer catamaran with their same manufacturer ethos? Give Silent Yachts real competition (probably better) but with diesel hybrid drive.

I like the approach Alexei has to boats. It is indeed all about safety and if that safety can come with comfort then that is an add on. So many boat builders only go for aesthetics and safety is a bit of a 'problem'. I have seen super yachts where I would not even want to be found dead, all flashy, but highly unstable and built with the cheapest materials.
If I would ever be able to afford a new yacht in this size I am sure it would be a Bering. Out current boat is also a trawler, built for heavy seas and thus safety and we love it. We don't need to worry, we know that our vessel can handle much more than we can and with more extreme weather on the way you need that sense of security.
Great video and thanks for letting Alexei speak his mind.

Interesting that NautiStyles chose a Bering yacht, both of your channels speak very highly of the builder and yachts. Having been at myself in my younger days safety over some flash any day. Thank you, thank you! LOVE the Bering boats! Thank you also for the tiny glimpses of the 145. 3 washers and 3 dryers (and not in the crew mess)! Somebody was thinking there. But of course, I would have expected no less 😊

Bering is improving leaps and bounds in the past few years. All other boat builders should be worried or learning. Alexey is taking boat building to the next level!

My favorite yacht. It beat out Sunreef, Sunseeker, OA90R, Riva and a few others. On another note, anyone going to talk about how beautiful the surroundings are with the mountains. Stunning.

Excellent David! These type of videos are so good. Well, you never disappoint really but these in-depth builder portraits are very interesting. I only wish it was longer, or had another part... Have a look on the floor of the editing room, maybe there are som bits and pieces left that you can cobble together for a Directors Cut 😉

That was not just a fascinating video, i found it inspirational in the Bering vision and approach to business. And to see things as they really are and not staged shows the total transparency of the business. Who wouldn’t want to do business with them? Unless you prefer the Hermes tie approach! Thank you David.

Much better presentation. Not having to listen to a yammering, preening “Hey, check out my butt!” ditz made it very informative and enjoyable. Especially without cutesy interruptions as well.
