Family Sessions #82 / "Old Man"

"Old Man" is the 4th song on our newest record "Cosmos", and here it is performed live! We went through so many twists and turns with this track in the studio, and it ended up in a quite different landscape than how we originally wrote it. We love the studio version with its soft piano, fretless bass, and a beautiful string arrangement by Rob Moose! But there’s never just one way to play a song and it was so fun to sit down with our drummer friend Torjus Nevland and play it a little closer to how it came into this world in the first place. With two guitars. Enjoy!

All these videos are recorded in a space in Oslo called Dyrk Bryn, where we’re so lucky to be part of a creative collective run by Flott Gjort, in an old industrial building.

Please, continue your voyager in those mixed sounding landscapes! And keep the old man suitcase with you! Mari's vibrato is completely hers. Music manuals will have to include a Mari Kreken entry for her unique vibrato-staccato finding. Congrats for Cosmos I will buy it soonish.
