      You own one? Awesome! I'm so curious about how touring-compatible it might be. Is it comfortable enough to ride for more than four hours straight? How long does one tank last? And how long are the service intervals? I'd love it to be some sort of lightweight, daily useable sport tourer - most actual sport touring bikes are just SO heavy!

    The reason this has more power throughout the rev range over the 600RR (despite the RR having a much higher top end) is because of it’s longer stroke, it doesn’t rev like a over bored i4, it’s got more torque low end due to its longer stroke, cam profile and the way it’s tuned

    It's a lovely bike - very nearly the natural successor to the old CBR600F
    (I believe it was called the Hurricane in the USA.)
    A bit of underseat storage and it would truly be the new version of that motorbike.
    Good job Honda.

    • @jasper_of_puppets
      @jasper_of_puppets 5 років тому

      I'm not familiar with "The Hurricane", but I just looked it up, and yeah, the very first CBR600F was called that. But all subsequent F models in the US dropped the Hurricane moniker and were referred to as F2, F3, F4, and F4i. Anyways, I like this new CBR650R, but it seems way too heavy at 456 lbs wet. Should really be more in the 430-lb range.

    • @ianmacfarlane1241
      @ianmacfarlane1241 5 років тому

      @@jasper_of_puppets To be honest I wasn't familiar with the 'Hurricane' designation either - here, (in the UK) it was referred to as the CBR600F (F2, F3, F4) but I thought that I'd check on the name, as there are different names in the various markets across all manufacturers - not always, but it happens enough to warrant checking.
      As for the weight, it seems that most manufacturers are losing the battle of the bulge.
      Electronics & massive exhaust systems play a big part - a de-cat link pipe wil knock a lot of weight off (10 - 12lbs).
      More complicated machines = more weight sadly.
      It's still a nice motorcycle ✌️

    • @jasper_of_puppets
      @jasper_of_puppets 5 років тому

      @@ianmacfarlane1241 yeah, despite the weight, it is nice. I recently bought the new CB300R and that thing is crazy lightweight at 313 lbs wet! It lost over 30 lbs or so over its F predecessor, so it confuses me as to why they weren't able to shed more weight off the much more expensive 650R.

    I think this should have been named the CB650R to go along with the CB650F (naked) opening the potential for the CB1000R to have a faired model as well. Being named "CBR" implies it's in their race bike line, which it is not. It would also mean that the faired CB1000R would be called a CBR1000R and that already exists - this is why this line of bikes should just be CBs with or without fairings.

      @@Zi9makin9 That's undeniably cool. I thought that you were going for a razor sharp side profile, but that stubby thing is very well designed.
      Is that a stock photo or is it you? (Or someone you know?)
      I do think that manufacturers, (who undoubtedly have packaging difficulties - it's not easy) do need to think about storage. Bike security is hugely important, but disc locks, chains and D-locks are far too heavy to be carried in a backpack / rucksack - much better if they could be carried somewhere on the motorbike.
      There has to be a viable solution - underseat is obviously the best option for balance, but failing that there has to be something.
      I know that 'dummy' tanks are used for the air-box and electronics routing, but I'd gladly accept a marginally bigger 'dummy' tank if there was some way of secreting a lock in there - I dunno - maybe I'm deluded.
      Take care ✌️

      I'm kinda a fan of the wide tail look. I like big butts and I cannot lie lol. Never understood the craze of sharp, cutoff tails

    Looking more at the bike it seems that its really awesome for someone who wants an a2 bike that u can stay with even after u got ur big boi A license... with 90hp its definitely better then the ninja 650... but its downfall is the price...

      @@szymonstepien9869 Good afternoon! I think if you ask 100 people, you'll get 100 different answers! You need to ask yourself some questions and answer honestly: what is your skill level? What kind of riding are you going to be doing (purely fun or work/school or around town or in the city, etc)? What is your real budget, with other life bills and factoring in insurance? Is it your first bike? Buy something you'll destroy in the first year or two of riding. If it's not your first bike, then you should already be well on your way to formulating answers to the above questions! Good luck!

      I just sold my mint, like brand new 2011 gsxr750 for 5900. Lol.. that was alot of bike for cheap. I walked into the dealer to look at new bikes and saw new sport bikes are crazy money. My bike new was 12,000 and it was almost the same bike. Lol..

      Yes and $9400 also gets you bikes with ABS and traction control as stock and not an extra half grand package cost...

    These are the kind of specs and performance that 650f owners wanted. But they had to ruin it and change the ridding position.
